In seriousness I don't want to think about playing against a top line where both Marner and Kane are feeding Matthews

How far
This team could definitely make the playoffs because of their amazing dcore and goaltending but they'll never win the cup because of the lack of scoring depth.

Team Finland Is Number One
Finland is only #1 in the IIHF rankings because of the Olympics, where Canada and the USA iced shambolic teams partially due to harsh COVID restrictions. If you want to ice best-on-best, which you've done here for some reason (since you're talking about international rankings), then Finland would maybe be 4th. I mean, you have Maata and Ristolainen as your second pair defence and are relying on "breakouts" from your forwards... nobody on team Canada or USA needs to "breakout" to be on their roster lol, they're already stacked

Edmonton will likely need to pay to dump Foegele considering their situation. Also NYI is a bad partner for this trade imo, they don't have the cap nor would Foegele fit on their roster.

Moving eller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>Let me guess, you didn't even bother to look. Moving Holl is enough to not only sign Sandin for league minimum but to sign Aston-Reece to a more realistic contract and carry a 21st man.</div></div>
-CapFriendly shows the Leafs' current 22 man roster to be at $83,993,116.
-Trading away Holl (-$2M) puts the Leafs cap to $81,993,116 which leaves $506,884 in space (uh oh)
-Signing Sandin to just his qualifying offer of $874,125 means the Leafs would be over the cap by $367,241 with a 22 man roster
So no it's not enough
Assuming you also send Clifford and Anderson both down to the AHL (and I don't think either of them are waivers exempt) and then sign ZAR to a league min contract, the Leafs are then left with a 21 man roster and $395,259 in cap space, not enough to call up even a league min player. when your starting goalie is Matt Murray who is pretty much guaranteed to get injured, that is far less than an ideal situation lmao

I was more speaking to the logistics/frequency of Kerfoot trades on CapFriendly in general but I don't really see it happening with the Caps and Eller. It doesn't really help them performance-wise or cap-wise, it's more of a lateral move. They're probably better off trading Kerfoot/another player with no salary coming back or doing something else to their roster.

Moving eller
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>There have never been any reports the Leafs are shopping Kerfoot or anything. It's time for the obsession this place has with it to end. There have been reports on the type of money on the table now for Sandin both from the Leafs and his counter offers and they all come in at or under the $1,400,000 mark Liljegren got which makes a Kerfoot move wholly unnecessary. If someone if being moved for Sandin its going to be Holl which frankly makes sense given the logjam on defense and Sandin's worry about his role.
Beyond Kerfoot not making any sense to move, reports are also coming in now of players who will likely start the year on LTIR which kicks this entire problem down the road. You don't trade players when you are going to need them to start out.</div></div>
Yeah nobody's said that Dubas is moving Kerfoot; the whole point of ACGM is that idiot fans like us get to theorycraft moves GMs *could* make. The reason why Kerfoot is seen so much in these threads is because it makes a lot of sense and would likely be easy to do. Moving Holl's cap hit on its own isn't enough for Sandin to sign for even league minimum lol. Someone else would have to go. Plus if you move Holl then you have two lefties playing on their offside, which coaches generally don't love to do. Sure starting a player like Muzzin on LTIR buys time but you still have the same problem when you activate him. So expect to keep seeing Kerfoot at least until Dubas makes his move and probably after too lol

I agree with second or third round. Top 6 is strong but the team is a bit weak down the middle. Defence could also be improved but it's definitely not bad either. I like the grit and work rate of the bottom 6. If Bob is playing well then probably 3rd round

Underrated players
Interesting list. Some of these players it's a little too soon to tell. Zub I think is pretty appropriately rated, at least by the Sens' fanbase, Lafreniere and Kakko moreso just haven't lived up to their draft position (yet), Heinola hasn't even played 30 NHL games and is still considered a higher grade prospect, same with Byfield only playing 46 games and others on this list. Knight I think is underrated but because he's also quite young there are probably other goalies that could go on here. There are a couple players that I see where you're coming from like Strome and Hintz, because they played with some other high level players that other people might think they wouldn't be as good by themselves.

Playoffs or not
Eh I still think Panthers make playoffs but definitely not as President's Trophy winners. There's still really good pieces on this team. Barkov and Ekblad are amazing core players and there's solid depth at every position except LD IMO. Bob's save percentage has risen every year in Florida and Knight will probably take another step forward. Plus I'm assuming the mentality of this team is hungry after underperforming in the postseason. Every division is going to be fun to watch

Standings predictions x2
Yeah I want to see more standings predictions with context, like point totals or playoff cutoffs. The metro and central specifically have several teams that could move between 2nd and 6th/7th, I wouldn't be surprised if we get 5 from both divisions.
