Leafs offseason by a Habs fan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>That trade is heavily lopsided in ANA’s favor.</div></div>
The hell it is...
The Ducks would be giving up a top offensive weapon as well as a guaranteed top 5 pick for a couple decent prospects and a guy who likely doesn't sign an extension because Anaheim isn't going to blow a massive amount of cap space on one guy. Not to mention what has been stated before about Gibson having no interest in playing in Toronto. In all honesty, it's probably a pretty terrible trade for both sides.

High end talent and fixing the pp
A Zegras deal starts with your own first and we certainly wouldn't be taking a goalie back in a deal for one of our top offensive players. After LHDs, goaltender is the next position that Anaheim is set at for several years to come

Or when he was stapled to the bench or scratched. Or when Anthony Serivelli said that Zegras doesn't want to be there anymore and has "all but requested a trade publicly" or that his best friend is Drysdale and York and that he wants to be reunited. Or that on the trade teadline all of the insiders heard that Zegras to Flyers was a true possibility this offseason and there is "basically a deal done"</div></div>
Regardless of rumors, this offer doesn't get Zegras to Philly. As we Ducks fans have said, it starts with Foerester and your 1st

Anaheim would rather keep our 3rd round pick than trade it for a 5'9" LW who doesn't really bring much to the table

Yea... That's gonna be a no from Anaheim... Pitre looked good in Juniors this year and is expected to get a crack to be in San Diego next year. I'd want to see what he's got to offer at a professional level before shipping him off, especially for the one position the Ducks do not need any more of.

As was already mentioned, Anaheim is not trading Gudas who has been so valuable in a leadership and mentoring role for our young defensemen, and they certainly are not trading him for an LHD, a position that is more than covered for the foreseeable future.

I seriously doubt Chicago would ever offer that trade, but as a Ducks fan, I'd say yes to Kurashev for Lundestrom straight up any day of the week lol

I like Necas and I think it would be awesome to see him in Anaheim, but in no way, shape, or form, could I ever justify giving up a top 5 pick for him.

Even if he was considering trading Z, it would be for the right price, which my fellow Ducks fans and I have not yet seen on here. He's not going to give away one of our top offensive assets for scraps

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Strome for Laine is it — the 1st being there is an absolute joke imo
A 7x7 for Peace?! Hard pass
Those lines don’t work imo either:
Stamkos Carlsson Killorn
Vatrano McTavish Terry
Gauthier Zegras Laine
Jones Lundeström Leason</div></div>
I don't like Pesce at 7x7 either, but the last time I did something less, I was told he wouldn't sign for any less than that, so that's what I put in for this one. I can't please everyone on Cap Friendly 😂😂😂😂

Ducks 24-25 possibility
Already 2nd guessing myself and thinking, maybe instead of trying to trade for a player that has potential but has had some issues in recent years in Laine, maybe they just try to dump Strome's contract elsewhere and make a go for another Carolina Hurricane UFA (since they run the same system Cronin and Verbeek are trying to put together) and try to sign Teuvo Teravainen as well... Gotta use that cap space to get some consistent top tier guys

No more LHDs in Anaheim. If we're getting a Canes defenseman, we'll just sign Pesce during free agency

I still think the worst one I've seen (since it literally made me laugh out loud was the one someone submitted on the trade machine where they said Zegras and our top 5 pick to the Flames for Markstrom, Mangiapane, Vancouver's 1st, and their own 2nd. That one will be tough to beat for worst Zegras trade offer, but the one on here is pretty terrible too.

2019 redraft
Disregard this redraft. I messed up on it and somehow missed a couple picks. I initially was planning to have Beecher to Carolina at 28 and have it filter down from there, but somehow I omitted picks for Calgary and Tampa at 26 and 27 which threw the rest of it off

As my previous fellow Ducks fans have said, we won't be needing or wanting a goalie back in the deal for Gibson. The pipeline (no pun intended) for goaltending for Anaheim looks pretty set with Dostal leading the way for the foreseeable future and guys with strong potential like Clang, Suchanek, and Clara coming up through the ranks.

Different Direction
Yea Crosby in Anaheim would've been great when they should've won the draft lotto and been able to pick him first overall back in the day. For him at 36 and Smith at 33, we're not giving up one of our top offensive assets, and two quality defensive prospects (one of which has started to find his stride at the NHL level this season), let alone a valuable late first that could be used in a better eal and a pair of 3rds. If the Ducks sign a guy or two on the wrong side of 30 (i.e. Stamkos), that's fine, but I seriously doubt they give up multiple assets for 2

Zellwegger, Mintyukov, Luneau, Warren, and Hinds over both CBJ and MTL. Only one team in NHL history has had a prospect named the DPOY in all 3 CHL leagues in the same season, and that'd be the Anaheim Ducks. Zell and Minty already making an impact in the NHL too.

Both FAs will go for more in the open market, and that’s not accounting for the extra incentive ANA would have to throw at them to lure them to us
Gaucher isn’t NHL ready
Luneau barely played hockey this year, I hope we don’t rush him and let him develop in SD
Lots of missing RFAs that we should be re-signing (most notably Lacombe and Vaakanainen)</div></div>
I totally knew that about the ELCs and just completely had a brain fart lol. I appreciate that and all your other points. This was my first Armchair GM post and as I look back I realize there are many flaws that I will work on before I make another one lol

Draft Day Trade
So let me get this straight. This offer is a guy who has put up consistent offensive numbers (60+ point seasons the two full years he's been healthy) and a pick that will fall anywhere between 1-5 for a goalie we don't need, a mid 6 forward, a first that likely falls somewhere between 25-32 and a 2nd rounder in a draft that is not super deep with guys who are almost NHL ready?... No thank you... Not even close to what Anaheim is looking to add for Zegras. Our top pick isn't going anywhere

The 2nd of my NHL23 Franchise Trades
I'm playing NHL23, so essentially it's last season's gameplay, so he still had the remainder of that season and the following season (this season in real life). I took him on because Winnipeg would have been over cap if I didn't and I was out of retention slots. It's an extra pick so I won't question their decisions lol

These were two separate trades but the only way I could get Skinner in Columbus like I did was to post in on here as one. I acquired Skinner for Angle and my 3rd at the start of my season and then flipped Skinner at the deadline to Chicago for Kurashev, Vlasic, and their 3rd. Everything was cap compliant in each move so no retention occured. Other than that I don't know. Keep in mind these deals were done in a video game so none of it has to make sense. I was literally just posting for fun because I'm a Ducks fan and real hockey sucks right now 😂😂😂
