Chicago isn't giving up that pick for Necas.

Can't see any of those teams even remotely considering trading their pick this year for Necas.

With our PIT pick, sure. Top 3? Nah, not remotely interested unless Morrow is in there too

For CHI's own 2024 1st? Not a chance. It is very unlikely CAR can get a top 10 pick for him. I might consider Jarvis for that pick, but even that is a stretch.

I'd do two 2nd's for him not including Chicago's 2024 2nd but that's about it.

For a top-5/6 pick? Not a chance, mostly because I don't think Necas is the game-breaking star forward Columbus needs. He's a decent 1st liner and very good 2nd liner, which is...exactly what we already have in theory (JG, Laine, Johnson, Marchenko).

With so many other forwards to sift through, I could see a trade for Necas if it's something like Johnson + Texier for Necas + 3rd, or similar. A hockey trade where Columbus gets the better player now, and sends out a player that would be competing with Necas for that spot. Carolina saves some cap and gets someone back with that kind of potential, plus a cheap and decent roster player. Anything else, though, and Columbus is out. Even moving Johnson is extremely unlikely.

Canes fans have too high a value for Necas.
He's worth a low 1st round pick.
Why? Because we know Carolina wants to trade him for cap reasons.

Would love Necas but I just can’t give up a pick this high for him. I’d rather maybe see if we could spin a deal with a guy like Johnson or something.

Even if he wasn’t trade for that reason, Necas is a good second line forward. Not a game changer like you would assume in a trade involving a top 5 pick. I really don’t understand the hype about Necas. To me i wouldn’t trade any assets for him, he will ask for big money and isn’t a sure bet. He had one good season.

Might, MIGHT give you Edmonton's 1st, but sure as **** not a top 10, let alone top 5 pick.

laugh On what planet is Martin Necas worth a top 5 pick in the 2024 NHL draft? Yeah that's right he's not. Not even close.

I like Necas and I think it would be awesome to see him in Anaheim, but in no way, shape, or form, could I ever justify giving up a top 5 pick for him.
