I think the only way trading Gibson+ for 20 OA+ happens is if a bonafide top 10 player (Savoie/Kemell/etc.) is falling during the draft, WSH doesn't want him, and Verbeek doesn't think he'll make it past Pitt at 21. Otherwise, I would hold off until after the draft and look for a better package for Gibson.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>'Let’s assume this is before the offersheet'
If the trade is made before the offer sheet, the offer sheet gets matched. It's only for 1 season so it won't cause much trouble going forward.</div></div>
He's right. Maybe make the trade Mrazek and Sandin for Grant. If that gets declined, then go ahead and send that offer sheet to Sandin.
The Edmonton and Calgary trades are great if Lucic accepts a trade to Anaheim.

Splitting hairs. I give him the 4th year as a good faith gesture for coming back to a rebuilding team at a discount.
Plus the cap should be going up halfway through the contract anyway.

Lol I just went with what was being reported.
There’s no doubt this team would be filthy in transition under the right system, but struggle deep in their own zone without the puck.
Ideally, I’d like to just see them re-sign Manson and grab another top 9 scorer instead of signing Klingberg.

Anaheim Ducks 1 of 32 Realistic
With McTavish likely playing the full season in the NHL and a healthy Silfverberg, it is probably too many trades like you said.
I'd also like them to address RD this offseason. If Shattenkirk is playing top 4 minutes, Gibson is going to have another rough season.
All in all, very well thought out and nicely done. A lot of those teams would have a tough time saying no. Can't wait to see what you do for the rest of the 31 teams.

Why thank you. I don’t necessarily agree with all of them either, I’ve just been having fun using other team’s rebuild templates to see how the Ducks can transition from the “tear it down” phase to the “build it up” phase of the rebuild.

Burakovsky would be a great add, but I just doubt that a guy from the 2nd tier of free agents is going to be willing to sign in Anaheim even for a boat load of money. I've turned my eye more towards Mikheyev for that roster spot. He's more of a 3rd tier option so cheaper and less in demand (maybe?).</div></div>
I wouldn’t mind Yamo or Puljujarvi. They’re about equal in my eyes, they just bring different skill sets to the table.
I guess in this scenario, Burakovsky would take the payday because he’s won his 2 cups now and would be looking to be a centerpiece of a team that has traditionally treated Swedes well.
I like Mikheyev a lot, but I might consider him 3rd tier and would likely play a middle 6 role instead of a top 6

Yeah I hope that isn't the case. The Ducks already have one of the best prospect pools in the league and are coming off 4 awful years and trading Gibson would set the rebuild back 2-3 years. It would have to be a massive overpay from someone desperate. I'd like Verbeek to take some steps forward like the Rangers, Devils, and Kings have done recently.

Tough to say. It depends on the season he has in 22-23. He's still adjusting and finding his role. If all goes well, I could see a Dahlin 3X6 (maybe a little less). If he takes off into the stratosphere this year, we're looking at an 8-year deal in the high 6's (maybe 6.75, even 7)

I just figured that's what it would take to get a guy like Bura in Anaheim with the state of their rebuild and their state tax situation.
I probably overpaid, but it's a trade to a division rival so I did what it would likely take to get the guy (Yamo).

Noted. I'm sure if this were to happen, Yamamoto would find himself in the top 6 way more often than not. I just think that line would be fun to watch.
I wouldn't mind Puljujarvi either, I've just seen a ton of trades for him on here and wanted to try something different. Plus it seems Verbeek wants to play a faster, more dynamic brand of hockey.

True. It just seems like Philly has no intention of rebuilding and could use the $7 million in cap space from JVR's contract in free agency (or trades). With Ellis and Risto, it doesn't look like Attard will see top 4 minutes for a few years, in Anaheim he would get 20 mins a night next to Fowler.

Manson would be an extremely welcome return to Anaheim. He fills a desperate need and is a leader in the room.
His contract would likely be for 3-5 years at $4.5-5.5, however.

Rakell And Manson Return
If Manson is only getting 2 years, he'll likely require a much higher AAV
The Henrique deal is a tough one. Pitt would have to be very desperate to take on his contract, and they'd still be giving up a lot. Plus, from a Ducks perspective, Terry played his best when on a line with Henrique and this trade would leave the Ducks very young at center with little to no insurance.
Why not bring back Elvenes?

Also you brought in too many forwards, especially at C. Lundestrom has already proven he can be a reliable 3C and is only 22, he’s earned that spot. Could use a top 6 LW and RW in addition to defense though. Milano is more like a 3rd line winger, and need LW too unless Comtois can return to form (I’m hoping he can alongside Z and Terry). Studnicka and Roy are fine, but both more like 3rd line than 2nd</div></div>
I mentioned Sanheim would be coming with a 6 year extension.
As for 3C, that’s where I’d prefer McTavish to play. He isn’t ready for 2C (maybe he is) and I don’t want him on the wing.
Also, this lineup is more about depth than anything. Depth and versatility (a lot of guys can play multiple positions). I want to be done with the Robinsons and Meyhews of the world.

I know it's a lot, and I wouldn't love him at that price either, but that's probably what it would take in this scenario.
What would be enough for Zaitsev? Ducks need a RHD and I'd rather get a couple picks attached than turn to the UFA market.
Probably a little too much, sure, but they're in-division trades and if I overvalued the later pick in both deals, that's fine with me if we get the players.

I still left plenty of cap space to sign all those guys.
The Ducks need to fill their roster with actual NHL talent, so I targeted players who fit the team's contending timeline (23-26 y.o.), need a "change of scenery", and/or would be good fits to further the development of the current young core.
