<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>It’s kinda funny because Norris was still on pace for 50pts while looking terrible . He clearly was too afraid of taking risks and playing his game. He didn’t shoot many one timers like he’s known to do and was scared to try and be physical.
Before this year he was an amazing 200ft player</div></div>
so using the PLD trade to LAK as a comp, would a package of Reilly Smith, Drew O'Connor, Vasili Ponomarev, and a 2nd round pick be in the ballpark?

I don’t think Pitt should be trading for Chychrun.
Maybe Norris tbh</div></div>
norris is the type of guy i would see dubas taking chances on during the next several years, like guys with down seasons or injuries and betting on talent and bounce backs... esp with everyone aging, it would be better to move geno down or to the wing anyway... what sort of package would a norris get with his injury history do you think?

your thoughts on what LAK would want for PLD?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>No, No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes.
Chychrun probably gets the Bo Horvat return (first plus a good prospect) but Laine's and Norris' health histories probably limit the returns for them.</div></div>
so like just a first? or a 2nd + prospect?

A trade I saw EK65 back to OTT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>1. Absolutely pass on the MTL deal, the penguins don't need a pylon in Anderson.
2. EK isn't going anywhere, and Josh Norris is wildly injury prone (unfortunately) so pass. Plus, depending on the severity of Letang's surgery you can't move EK.
3. Avs don't do that.
4. DOC isn't a 1st line winger.
5. That goalie combo ain't it.</div></div>
my impressions were that anderson had just had some injury and personal struggles and needed a fresh start...
any idea what letang injury could be? he played through it for most of the year.... my guess is lower body, if i have to be specific i say an ankle... he didn't seem quite as explosive in his stride and turning side to side didn't seem smooth for him...
doc is a middle-6 guy for now, but we both know Sid has played with those guys most of his career so he's probably on the top line next year unless we have someone better...
if blomqvist is for real, he could solve all the goalie problems

Here is an alternative to that posted above:
To Chicago: Smith, Acciari, Pittsburgh’s 2024 2nd round pick.
To Pittsburgh: FC</div></div>
i mean yeah i'd consider that... i feel like you'd flip smith at 50% for another 3rd and 4th or something.... so smith actually has value i feel, so i might be trying to ask for a player back to negotiate like Raddysh i've seen some talk abt not sure what that would cost....

legit bro, then every time i or one of the few semi rational poster try to legitimately find a trade match or solution and mention some prospect we don't know anything about the entire site melts down and says we're all dumb... i at least admit my lack of knowledge around prospects especially, and other teams depths at certain positions and what their big needs are... lol :tearsofjoy i just try to be creative in a non-insane way...

There is nothing and I mean nothing I want in either the TOR or AZ trade.
Especially the AZ trade, they don't need a goalie and they aren't paying all that to move Acciari, just a horrible trade for the penguins.
Jake is also not signing a 1 year deal, he'll be signing 7 years somewhere probably. Good luck to anyone who wants to do that.
A lot of this is blocking paths for younger players that the penguins don't need to be doing.
They need to bring their younger players in house and give them shots at this point. Pickering, Yager, Broz, Lee, tKoivunen, Ponomarev.
They need to see if these guys can fill a hole</div></div>
i basically said seig was just to have $ coming back and fill a hole...

pens never go on the winning streak, finish #24 in the league, jump from pick 8 to #1 pick OVR and get Celebrini MEANWHILE the caps get the 2nd wildcard spot and make it to the stanley cup final (not clear if they win, 50/50 shot)
OR
pens do win out, edge out the caps for the 2nd WC spot, make it all the way to the SC Final, while WSH gets the #16 pick and it's a major bust

I think Sully is going to be open to resigning and going somewhere with a window to win a cup. There’s no reason for accomplished coaches like him to sit around for a rebuild. Can PIT fans agree on these things moving forward
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bc44</b></div><div>Dubas signed a 7 year deal for a reason. We all know that its over for the Pens and what a great two decades its been. But the organization clearly set out a plan with the core and Dubas coming in as GM. Two years trying to strike gold with Sid and the core and 5 years to build again, hence the 7 years. Its year one of that. Expect a quiet offseason with short term deals to some Vets and younger players looking for a shot. They will be keeping all draft picks moving FWD. After next season the Pens will likely be making similar moves that Montreal has been making.
Is this the best thing for the organization? Maybe, the best thing might be trading their best assets now for a massive return and advancing the rebuild several years but none of us realistically expect that.</div></div>
my sentiments, exactly.

Coaching Change
Firing Sullivan won’t make Jarry stop allowing one bad goal per game, or stop Ryan graves and Reilly smith having career worst seasons, or make evgeni malkin get 10 years younger, or make Erik Karlsson stop turning the puck over, etc etc I could keep going… this team simply is not good enough and it’s entirely on the players, I honestly don’t care who the coach is, but unlike prior years where we could accuse Sullivan of being stubborn, I don’t see any of that this year, he has been more proactive changing things around this year than I’ve seen literally ever. Dubas realized we need to get younger, so I expect a few older guys to be moved and we’ll take it year to year for joe and play younger guys…
