No, No, Yes, No, Yes, Yes.

Chychrun probably gets the Bo Horvat return (first plus a good prospect) but Laine's and Norris' health histories probably limit the returns for them.

Dubois isn't "not available," but the Kings aren't going to retain salary, take back bad money, or pay to move him, so it's very unlikely that he gets traded.

No clue on Laine until he's out of the program. Imo, if he's motivated and wants to be in Columbus then he'll be staying. His teammates love him and the city does too.

Depending on what Necas wants for a contract and if Guentzel re-signs, maybe. But honestly there’s not much interesting that the Pens have to offer. They’d probably be looking for a good prospect or a young replacement for Necas and idk if they Pens are the best partner for that.

chych or chabot might be gone but OTT not trading norris for pennies on the dollar. if you want him a team will have to pay full price for a 2C with term.

your thoughts on what LAK would want for PLD?

Probably tbh but there’s not that many interesting pieces.

I don’t think Pitt should be trading for Chychrun.

Maybe Norris tbh

norris is the type of guy i would see dubas taking chances on during the next several years, like guys with down seasons or injuries and betting on talent and bounce backs... esp with everyone aging, it would be better to move geno down or to the wing anyway... what sort of package would a norris get with his injury history do you think?

It’s kinda funny because Norris was still on pace for 50pts while looking terrible . He clearly was too afraid of taking risks and playing his game. He didn’t shoot many one timers like he’s known to do and was scared to try and be physical.

Before this year he was an amazing 200ft player

No, doubtful, yes, doubtful, yes, yes

That said PIT has very few assets to go get one of these players aside from maybe the ones with some bigger red flags hanging over them

so using the PLD trade to LAK as a comp, would a package of Reilly Smith, Drew O'Connor, Vasili Ponomarev, and a 2nd round pick be in the ballpark?

I feel like for that the Sens would just bet on Norris bouncing back. But what do I know

I'm not sure there's a good way to answer that question. He's not worth what the Kings would need to get in order to consider trading him. Blake has essentially gone all-in on PLD being at least a top quality 2C, and if that doesn't come to fruition, then he's likely going to lose his job.

So if Blake is still the GM (if he gets fired this summer, then all bets are off), I think he needs to get a return comparable to what he paid to consider moving him. A 2nd round pick, a solid middle-six winger on a reasonable contract, and a young quality top-six player.

I again emphasize that he's not worth that return, but that's what it would take.

Necas is probably on the market, but the Canes would need to receive a package that would force their hand, or they send a package with Necas to upgrade upon Necas. For example, Necas and a 1st for Marner or someone of the like. Canes don’t need futures with the amount of quality prospects they currently have in their pipeline, and teams that want Necas would be trying to buy off of a contender, so the price would be higher.

The Pens don’t have the proper futures that would interest the Canes enough for Necas, and I doubt that the Pens would be willing to move Crosby, so that kills the 2nd option. Canes and Pens probably aren’t the best trading partners for Necas.

anyone thinking Laine is on the market is telling a half truth.
CBJ won't sell low, they will give him a chance to bounce back. He'll probably be on the market next year when they can't come to terms on an extension. I don't think he wants to remain in CBJ.
Nor do I think CBJ will want to pay him when he's always hurt.
