Last Minute Deadline Deal

Its a good trade, especially because if we keep Cole, and Hunwick as our depth guy, Ruhwedel can be sent down. I know he passes through waivers but..., plus, we can go over the cap at the deadline and its cool

You realize you can go over the cap at the deadline #1, and #2 Im sure there are teams that would take Faksa off their hands, especially when the have a full center position. Relax man.

This IS The Solution (A Carolina Trade)
I like these trades and where you're thoughts are. I think Ryan is good, but I would almost do Sheary, a 2nd, and a 4th straight up for Ryan because I think we need to keep our 1st, or if say we are getting Sharp from the Hawks then maybe we don't need Kuhnackl or Rowney per say. Othwerwise, not bad.

pacioretty realistic trade
I will be honest here, comparing Patcioretty to Kessel is not good, Kessel is a lot better and we traded Kapanen, Harrington, Spaling, and a 1st. Spaling you dont even hear from, Kapanen is still a top prospect, and Harrington is nothing more than an AHL D-man.

Okay just because someone doesnt play with Malkin or Crosby doesnt mean they arent good. Look at Kessel for example.

Yeah I am sorry, but that is not realistic at all. I realize im "Just a pens fan", but this is kinda pushing it. Guentzel is only 23, and is a great second line winger, Maatta is only 23 and is a top-pairing D, Sprong is 20 and is already shown he can play well on the top line, and a first round pick in a deep draft. Doesnt seem good at all for the Pens

I think this is good. I would even offer Sheary, Rowney, and a 2nd, for Anisimov and a 4th. I would also keep Hunwick for depth on D.

Same cap hit and Hyman is three years younger. Leafs have a lot of young wingers, but lack a strong 3rd D-man—especially if Hainsey decides to retire soon. If leafs want a run at the cup, it makes sense. Leivo and Rachel get you close to nothing in my mind.

Is he? Who else do you trade though. Soshnikov won’t brig in Tanev, and I believe Marner is more untouchable than Hyman. Tanev is still 28 and a top 3 D-man for a Leas blueline that needs it, especially with Hainsey slowly decreasing. Thanks for the Hyman info on if he is a C, but who else would you think makes the deal work?

You think? There defence really is not good, and they don't have young solid wingers in my opinion. Plus with Quenneville, Toews, Kane, Kieth and Crawford all in their prime, I would imagine they would continue to go for cups. But I see where youre coming from.

Honestly, nothing, if anything Ottawa needs to add. Maatta would not be traded for Brassard straight up. I know there are some negative opinions on Maatta's play, but he is one of, if not the best Pens D right now.

That’s fair, same with Brassards cap hit as well, and the fact we should be resigning Hörnqvist, it would be risky for the cap for sure. Only thing I can think of though is I guarantee Hagelin will probably be gone at some point next year.

Both Sheary and Pageau better the team they go too.

lol idk?! come on it was an attempt here. giving up Sheary, a good prospect, and a decent pick in a deep draft I think is too steep. Its an off season, and both players are equal considering Ottawa would want wingers.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Like I said, PIT should get him over here and play a few games in the AHL/NHL. He had a nice tourney! He also has a 3.04GAA .887SV% in his league. There are a TON of goalies out there. Goalies aren't getting what they used to these days. PIT fans should know this more than anyone. Otherwise they wouldn't have to give up a 2nd to trade MAF. PIT also selected Filip with the 55th pick. So the comparison of Carey Price...yeah he was 5th overall. Filip had a nice tourney AND he could very well be a good goalie. Let's just not be a prisoner of the moment.</div></div>
I understand what you're saying, but I mean Matt Murray was a third round pick and was stuck in wheeling for forever and then just won back to back cups. So even his pro career wasn't that impressive until just recent, so saying a pro career matters before trading for a prospect is kinda silly. Gustavsson just won best goalie of the tournament, and is viewed as one of the best goalies over in Europe. I realize the game is different, Pittsburgh took gambles on Plotnikov etc., but this is a good resume and a team would be confident to add this to a prospect pool and develop him, period.

Look at something other than NHL.com stats before making an assessment.</div></div>
Look at NHL.com? What do you mean? I've been watching him ever since he's gotten to the Pens and he's gotten better and better. He's having a better season than Bonino overall, and he's playing with worse wingers half the time. He plays with Hagelin and Hornqvist usually, and is only beginning to play with a Guentzel and Sprong. He had a great game tonight no? Just because Guentzel, a 1LW takes his spot on a powerplay unit, doesn't mean he is bad. He's a 3C, he's what you would expect. But I guess I just get all this at NHL.com

That is so terribly inaccurate. Sheahan has outperformed Bonino so far this season both offensively and defensively and is usually playing with the likes of Hagelin and Hornqvist.

Cole would not get more than 4M. Dumoulin gets 4.25M, and is way above Cole in value as a defenceman.
