My Leafs 2020-21 opening night roster as of October 16th20
Lol..ya, man. Look at the games played. 70-80 games for Vesey and 20-30 for Anderson..lol, how can u even compare those stats?? We’ll see!! Everything I read says Toronto obviously thinks highly of Joey Anderson and are giving him every opportunity to be the 4th line RW. And Vesey was signed as a depth winger. Probably the 13th forward. We’ll see though. Everything written out there could be wrong. It’s up to training camp.

They didn’t trade for Joey Anderson to play in the minors. Vesey is no more than a depth signing. He’s never shown more. Vesey will be Toeonto’s 13th Foward and J.Anderson will be the 4th line RW.
No way both Lehtonon and Barabanov make the roster. No way two 1st year players from Russia come over and start on a contending team. The game is very different. Not just getting used to the smaller rink.

Lol.. 6, left-hand shooting defenseman.
And the Leafs offered Dermott 895k offer sheet. He isn’t arbitration eligible. Obviously he didn’t sign it yet. But if he gets offered over 1.4M by another team, then Toronto will let him walk and take the 3rd round pick compensation. So how u have him signing for 2M is unknown to me??

If the Pens really wanted him they could just offer sheet him at 3.5-5M and just give up the 1st round pick compensation if Boston doesn’t match it.
And Jankowski is just as good as Haula, and Janko probably has more upside too. If the Pems spend that kind of money they are gonna sign someone like Granlund who can play RW and play Center on the 1st/2nd line of Crosby/Malkin get hurt. Or they would sign Hamonic or Vatanen if they are spending 3.5M on a free agent. And Haula doesn’t get that much either. He won’t get above 2.5M.

Granlund no way is getting 6M a year either. Everything I read is saying 1.5-3M for 1 year this year is what he’s gonna get.

I think Rust and Poulin and the 1st and 2nd is enough. They are getting a 28 year old, top 6 RW, in Rust(who scored 27 goals and 56 points in 55 games last year). Getting a top prospect in Poulin(who is NHL ready) and a 1st and 2nd round pick. That’s the going rate for a star player. A top 6 Foward or top 4 D-man, a top prospect, and a 1st round pick. I think adding Petersson is alittle bit of an overpay. I guarantee the Jets would take B.Rust, S.Poulin, and a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick.
Rust scored 27 goals last year and 56 points in 55 games last year. Laine Scored 28 goals and 63 points in 68 games. For anyone to think Rust would entice WPG is crazy. Plus Poulin who is a top 50 prospect in NHL and is NHL ready. Plus a 1st and 2nd for Laine who is a stud but a FA after next year too.

We don’t need another LH-D depth at all. No need for Koekkoek at all. We would sign someone like Madison Bowey( a RH-D) as defensive depth if we we were gonna sign a d-man for depth. no way the Pens get rid of J.Rikkola. They just signed him and everyone in the orginzation thinks highly of him and think eventlly he could be a top4 d-pairing. And from all reports P.O-Joseph is NHL ready and he also plays The left side on D.
I like the Granlund sign though. Cause Incase of injury to Crosby or Malkin he can move to the 1st-2nd line Center. He would be a better 1st/2nd line C than McCann.

I think Poulin is a LW. Hes definitely a left-handed shot. And that usually makes for more comfort and most coaches putting you on the left side. I doubt he plays RW except in some short stints on line mix-ups.
In 2016-17. Our 1st line was Kuntiz(who wasn’t getting paid as much as Zucker) and Hornquist. Our 2nd line was for sure Guentzel/Malkin/Rust(sometimes D.Simon or Connor Sheary, who both were on cheap deals also). Which left Kessel and Haglin on our 3rd line(yes, Kessel played on the 2nd line w/ Malkin at the beginning of the season, but come play-offs, it was all Rust). Our 4th line was Simon or Sherry/M.Cullen/E.Fuhr. And Oli Maatta was also on a entry-level deal at the time. Which like I said, was the reason we were able to have such big names on our 3rd line. You can’t pay all top 6 Fowards and expect to have players like Kessel and Haglin on your 3rd line. You need that youth too. You especially need the youth’s cheap entry level contracts.
Legare was one of our top prospects in last years training camp. His defense wasn’t a problem. And isn’t a problem. He’s good in the defensive zone and has a great shot. What is lacking is his skating. But being 6’0, 210pounds makes up for that. Being strong makes up for being a fast skater. I think you have to give Legare a chance to be ready. He’s a RW, right-handed shot, really good on the power play. And w/ Janko being more of a defensive-minded Center. Having 2 scoring wings on his side is a good mix. And like I said, Legare isn’t bad in the defensive Zone. Neither is McCann. And our 4th line is our top defensive line anyways that usually plays the other teams top line defensively. And Legare wont be used on the PK. Janko will with Tanev and Blueger. And obviously Z.A.R when he comes back and healthy.

Letang is 34 years old and scored 15 goals and had 29 assists and 44points in 61 games last year. And 25 minutes of ice time a game. When will Pesce ever do that? That’s Letang, last year, at 33.
U want to know what 32 years old was? 16 goals, 40 assists 56 points in 65 games, 25:58 ice time, plus/minus +13..good luck Pesce..never in his life. Not when he was 18 in High School.

No way Engvall brings back a 4th round Pick either. A 4th line, Depth player w/ a big contract. Every organization has tons of those guys they believe in way more than Engvall.

You have no clue who he is. Just admit it. You started off saying they tried pawning “the 2 of them off”. Yes, they are all over here trying to trade Holl and his 2M contract. And either Engvall who has a 1.3M contract or Kerfoot, there 3rd line center, who makes like 3-4M a year. Why would they pawn off a prospect who is on an entry level deal. They are trying to trade players to get cap space. That makes no sense. Really man, you have no clue what your saying. You keep just keep saying dumber and dumber sh*t.

Lehtonen is a left-handed shot. He plays RD? I don’t know if u want to put that on a 1st year player coming over from Russia. Having to adapt to the smaller ring is enough of a huge difference. Let alone moving to the opposite side. I don’t know if he plays RD.

I agree..100% ANA takes that deal. Nylander is by far the best player. But Manson for Dermott is just as crazy. If someone wanted Dermott they could just offer sheet him 1.4M-1.5M and give up a 3rd round pick and get him. Of course Toronto can match that offer but they probably won’t.(And Can’t). Or Offer him less than 1.35M and hope Toronto doesn’t match and give up no draft pick compensation. You don’t have to trade anything for him and his rights. Just offer sheet him. I think Toronto’s offer to Dermott is 895k. He’s not signing that.
Do you know how restricted free agency works? And a player like Dermott who isn’t arbitration eligible?

I’d say it would be close for the Penguins. Add A.Pelch with Josh Bailey and that’s a definitely yes. I don’t know if they Pens would take on Bailey’s salary being he would probably be a 3rd line winger. And is older than Dumoulin.

And I think 100% ANA takes Nylander for Rakell and Manson. They’d be crazy not too. Nylander is younger and a 30 goal scorer. Rakell isn’t a 20 goal scorer and add Manson...ok. Sure. He’s not a top 50 Defenseman.

Joey Anderson’s offer was 895,000 from Toronto. Mikheyev number will be higher than that after his arbitration hearing. It will be 1.5-2M. Evan Rodriguez got awarded 2M in his arbitration hearing last year.
You put Joey Anderson in the minors anyways. I think it’s a 2-way contract for him. I don’t think it’ll count against the cap if he’s in the AHL.
