Ras has had ample opportunities on that line and he crashes into his own teammates.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoachCoach</b></div><div>Why would Detroit do that?</div></div>
Because Rasmussen doesn’t fight, that’s why. And he doesn’t create space for teammates I would argue that he takes space AWAY from teammates.

I’m looking for someone who’s going to stick up for teammates and make plays behind the net. Michael Rasmussen has never been in a fight in his whole career and can’t control the puck.

If he created space for a teammate in the offensive zone once per game this would be a home run IMO

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>There are already arrangements in place for the majority of players to be loaned to different AHL teams, or teams over in Europe. Besides, the Canes not having their own AHL team this season doesn’t mean they have to take a crap offer for him.
I mean, by your logic here, if the situation was reversed, the Wings would be more than willing to take something like a 2nd in 2026 for someone like Kasper.</div></div>
Oh ok, well I want to give the Griffins a chance to win the Calder Cup this year and I think he can help us do that so I have a spot for him in Grand Rapids if that’s the way for this player.
How about, if the plan is AHL, you loan him to the Griffins. If they make the playoffs you get a 4th, if they make the conference finals you get a 3rd, and if they win the Calder Cup you get a 2nd. But he has to play at least half of the regular season games and 4 playoff games. You can pick the year you want the pick, but no earlier than 2026.

Canes don’t have an AHL team so where is he going to play? NHL? KHL? Prolly not the ECHL. Can’t go to juniors.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>He’s not signing that cheap. Where did this rumor start in the 1st place.</div></div>
No, he’s not signing that cheap. I hadn’t really thought that deep into it yet but yeah I think I’m giving him term and dollars. I signed him on a previous wings team back in June/July for 4 years $20,000,000 heavily frontloaded so we could trade his contract to Arizona if he can’t play it out. Thinking it over now that may be a bit much but I still like the idea of front loading a relatively longish term contract.
I saw it on YouTube first from a creator I had never seen before. Rinkside Digest who says. “This signing could be MASSIVE for the Red Wings”
There. I just copied that same deal.

Larkin needs a lefty - season finale
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsCharlies</b></div><div>Wow. After that buildup Boston expects their 1st back or Marco Kasper in return. Do you have a Trent Frederic poster in your bedroom?
You make it sound like he is the second coming. He's a 3rd line forward at best. That's it.</div></div>
No, I don’t have a Frederic poster in my bedroom but I wouldn’t mind seeing one at the rink or like one of those gigantic window stickers of him on the outside of the building.
Okay I get it he’s not like a star player or whatever but maybe he could be if he had a couple 30+ goal seasons. And yeah I get it that’s probably not happening in Boston but it could happen playing with Larkin in Detroit.
Marco’s not on the table in this deal but Ras was a first rounder as well. If it’s Ras and a first round pick there are other trade implications with your ‘24 first round so the pick would have to be a future pick like a lottery protected 2025 pick.

Larkin needs a lefty Ep3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>The Wings have too many forwards, at least one of those waiver exempt guys not named Raymond will be starting in Grand Rapids.</div></div>
I don’t think so because yesterday I counted 22 bonafide NHLers, including Berggren, which leaves a roster spot available and if they are indeed looking to play a lefty with Larkin (which I truly believe is optimal) then Kasper might be the best in-house solution.

3rd times the charm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoreHitzSeider</b></div><div>I still miss Chris Farley.
But the Pettersson option became obsolete when Yzerman signed Chiarot and Maatta. Edvinsson will compete for the other LD spot. If he's not ready and is sent down to Grand Rapids then Oesterle likely gets it. Walman and Hagg will return from injury. Johansson, Wallinder, Sebrango and Viro are eventual options too.</div></div>
This goes against almost everything I've believed in the past, but I don't think the AHL is a good place for Edvinsson to develop. If he is projected to make the NHL someday then let's just rip off the band-aid now and have some faith that he'll find his way and step up on the fly. Worst-case scenario he sits out some games. If he goes to the AHL, he just might get stuck there.

Red Wings Projected Lines
After watching this most recent preseason game, I can't see Elmer not making this team. He's been so good so far. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes but, yeah, he's been unbelievably good, both offensively and defensively.

Yes, Olli Maata has been bad. He looks lost out there. Hesitant on moving the puck. Seems like he’s unsure of where to play the puck. Slow. Osterle can be scrambly at times but at least he has confidence and brings the energy. Also it’s Lindstrom who slots in instead of Maata and I think he’s just better at doing the same things Maata wants to do.

Who knows
Yeah, Kubalik has been too good to go to the 4th line for sure. I want to get Zadina with Vrana somehow. I think they can put up points together but then where does Perron go? I don't think he's good on the bottom 6 and that's how Kubalik got pushed to 4th as well. I just feel pretty good about Zadina and Vrana together.
