Ideal trade deadline
I hope JBB decides to use the cap for bad contracts instead of buying at the deadline. gain some extra draft picks and a prospect or 2 if possible and bring up some young guys, if we make it to playoffs, awesome, if not no big deal.

help with rebuild and playoff push
i doubt it takes a 2nd to move Sheary. maybe a middling prospect like Edmonds or Fortier, or even a lesser pick like a 4th or 3rd. but other than that, its a fair deal. just dont think Tampa should be moving out more 1sts

What would a real haul be for sergy
If i was JBB, i would start with a top D prospect or a high unprotected 1st with probably a roster forward thats under 25 with term and work from there.

Trials
Pass on Cole and JVR, Move Dillon over to the left side, Raddysh as the 3RD, and call up Lilleberg as the 7th dman. take left over cap to get a better forward group and maybe move Sheary as well

Miss Playoffs
The best thing to happen and this might burn the NHL down forever is if we finish with the 11th pick and end up winning the lottery for 1st overall and getting Celebrini lol

Circumvent Cap Time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsbeathabs</b></div><div>This year reminds me in a lot of ways of 04. TB had about the same type point percentage. People were screaming for John Grahame over Khabibulin and the went on an ungodly run late January through mid March.</div></div>
i dont see an ungodly run happening.... Vasy is still having some kind of issues either physically or mentally, the defense cant stay healthy enough, Kuch is the only one doing a damn thing. This is more like the 2016-17 season where we finish like 1-2 points out of a playoff spot but lose our first round pick

I’m just thinking about a line with lehky-Cirreli-Nuke and how elite of a shutdown line that could be. Maybe we could put mikko on his wing to help drive play as well</div></div>
He would be great in a shutdown line like he was in the playoffs with Hagel and Killorn

His issue on offense is he has no chemistry with anyone hes with other than Kuch

Probably starts with Byram, Not sure what else could be added other than a 1st or Gulyayev/Ritchie. Maybe Behrens but Tampa is stacked on the left side so i dont really see a fit unless we go with just picks and prospects

Clean house
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Cleaning House? Thats like primarily a junk sale.
ABB is 26 yrs old, Perbix had a magical 22-23 but that was the abnormal, de Haan, Sheary all of them together might get a 4th
PHI would take Nick Paul (they lack centers), but I don't think they'll part with a 2nd for him.
But really you're counting on alot of over achievement from those young guys to remain a solid team, when too much of the cap is in 3 forwards/2 dmen/goalie (48mil) and the team has been moving youth/picks for a few years)</div></div>
im not saying they need to be a solid team, but something has to give at this point. rather see what we have in guys like Goncalves and Merela. im sure you could add a Sergachev/Cernak/Jeannot or maybe even a Hedman and go full on retool/rebuild, problem is Cernak and Sergachev just started 8 year deals, Jeannot isnt gonna get the same return we gave up for him, and Hedman might get a couple of decent prospects cause hes on a steal of a deal for 1 more year but his play has declined since 2021-22

Lucas Edmonds definitely should go into the possibly get a chance. he was scoring at an unreal pace in the middle of last year and if he can get to 20-25 goals, i think he has a real shot to be a sneaky good 3rd liner in 2-3 years
