Nucks and FLA Cap Dump Devs get another 1st and Boeser
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Preston_Mattesich</b></div><div>I think where we differ is the approach we each think Florida should take respectively. I feel as though Florida is at the point where they should start trading picks and depth players for impact/star players. I don't think Stralman is a very valuable piece of that team right now and Weegar is a young guy who right now is a second line defenceman at best even though he has potential. What would you think Florida should receive in return for their first, Stralman, and Weegar from the Devils?</div></div>
It would for sure involve Severson, you were right there. But Severson isn’t worth a whole lot compared to those assets. I’d just add a good D prospect and a 3rd. So pretty similar to yours, except addressing more of their needs

Finally a 3way that makes sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColonelX</b></div><div>I mean trading away an excellent player that can't stay healthy for a top 6 center/LW and giving away a fourth for dumping an overpaid fourth liner to make cap space for Petterson and Hugues .... What a rip.</div></div>
Yep he had injuries for sure and that is an unknown...well to everyone except you I guess. The player with the type 2 diabetes though, obviously he will stay healthy for a long time. I have buddies with type 2 and it is not as easy as though think. Boeser is a better player and will continue to be. Cap space for Pettersson and Hughes you say? In the new CBA is there not a compliance buyout? That would allow them to get rid of Beagle<strong> without retaining </strong>any of the money the proposed trade mentions...would it not? That is still $750K.
Snottiness aside, your reply would have had merit, but you omitted that small detail of the CBA buyout.
Also ever wonder why Domi could potentially be traded 3 times in 6 years and they have been talking about it in Montreal for a while?
No probably not.

Devs trade up for drysdale and trade for laine
as for other trades .. i think as is winnipeg comes out of this in way better shape then NJ does .. winnipeg could end up with zacha and sanderson scheinder plus a solid forward with 3 picks in this draft.
laine is replaceable imho with connor and roslovic add in zacha on a line with wheeler or even roslovic .. 2 projected top 4 d men in sanderson and scheinder and a potential top 9 forward take away laine cap hit and winnipeg is looking good..

Devs trade up for drysdale and trade for laine
as far as i can see DETROIT wins this trade hands down..
mcleod bahl and switch #4 pick for # 7 pick .. yzerman would be all over this trade .. mcleod has good 3rd line potential to extremely high end depth player . bahl top 4 dman with SIZE .. and not much difference between 4th and 7th BPA
im pretty sure detroit will pull another stunner like last yr anyway and select someone no one was considering as a top 10 pick ..

Thread:
Devs trade up for drysdale and trade for laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Preston_Mattesich</b></div><div>First off I don't think the devs would part with butcher bc he is arguably their most valuable d man. The reason the jets would trade laine is that there are inside reports saying management isn't happy with his attitude even though he has shown potential. I also don't think wpg is very close to being a serious contender especially after this off-szn/season where they lost a bunch of key players like Byfuglien and trouba. I also think that wpg needs to add star potential young d men like possibly Sanderson or Schneider to replace who they lost. Idk I could be biased tho bc I'm a dev fan lol.</div></div>
If this is true about Wpg then ok, but there are other teams out there with better assets to get Laine. But the important thing you said here was about Butcher. Lets say you're right. He's the best D, and the team has high hopes for him. That is why Wpg would want him. Why would you get to keep everything you want to keep and still get a top 10 goal scorer in the Nhl? I think you're right about Will and thats why you have to trade him in this deal. You have to put yourself in Cheveldayoff's shoes too. "You want Laine? We want Butcher in the package." Does Nj just say no and walk away? If every fan got their way their team would always get the player they want and not lose anyone they care about. That's just not how trades work. It has to hurt you too.

dallas moves up in draft devs gamble that klingberg will resigncheck comments
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Preston_Mattesich</b></div><div>5th round pick moves back to a 7th if klingberg doesn't resign. this trade happens in a scenario where Dallas really likes a prospect around the 10-14 range and don't think they can resign klingberg</div></div>
I was gonna come in arms flailing with a whole bunch of reasons why I didn't like this. Then you answered them all below. I think it's reasonable to like a prospect in that range also. I'm gonna say under those conditions, yes. Except instead of the 5th 7th thing, NJ needs to have a contract set up before the deal. They're not in the market for rentals. If Dallas can't work something out they just let the other two negotiate and have the trade in place.
