Ideally 2022
I do see a lot I agree with it the post (like the need of making moves to acquire talent) but also in @Revans292 comment
Vlasic is buyout proof for a while
Burns could be selected by Seattle if he had a good year (I do think we protect him even if he plays well)
Jones - I mean there’s been talk he’s actually been improving with this offseason with the new goalie trainer (can’t remember his name but he’s getting more popular for aiding goalies). So we’ll see how that goes but I think he’ll be bought out eventually as it’s more probable than him playing well.
Leonard is gonna play this year we think. And many of these
Moves are just so hard to predict since many of these players new to the team that you acquired could be bad or signed elsewhere/ just don’t fit our trajectory currently. Teams good but so hard to predict some moves. And Gregor is taking the 3C this year which I personally didn’t expect so if that pans out that changes a lot.
I like Hughes but I think he’ll go in the teens so hopefully we can acquire another pick in 2021 and get someone else too. If we suck then I’d really wanna get Hughes with a later pick if ours is high. Either way I like the choice of inserting him.

my ideal team not that realistic read description

Quoting: jfrojelin

I am not optimistic about him. Tearing up the 2nd Swedish division means little, at least to me. Gregor or even Leonard are younger, just as good (possibly not on the pk but now Nieto is here), and will blossom into better players. They're also 1/2 and 2/3 the price.

Look, I am not a Sorensen defender by any means - I believe my official stance on him is that "he no longer rustles my jimmies" - but it's categorically incorrect to say that Gregor or Leonard are just as good as he is and will blossom into better players. We can sure as heck hope for that to be true, but Leonard hasn't even had a chance to hit the ice at training camp yet, and Gregor has 5 points in 28 NHL games.
I'm crossing all my fingers that we can flip Sorensen for picks at the trade deadline, but c'mon man. You can't just be out here stating that a kid who may not actually make the leap all that gracefully - if at all - to the NHL is "just as good as" an NHL player with several seasons under his belt like it's fact because it's not.

Divisional Standings Predictions

Quoting: YEGBRAD

Well you can't be that smart you have Calgary at first and they finished below Edmonton, Toronto, and vancouver last season in that order. You also have Edmonton at 4th and they we're first last season out of the canadian teams and have improved. Toronto for sure 2nd I agree with that. But Vancouver 3rd and Calgary 4th is how I'd have it.

Ah. The classic "you're dumb because of your sports takes" guy and the recency bias guy. Not the best approach for convincing the jury on our debate.
I can see you at least get that rosters change, but teams overachieve and underachieve all the time my man. FYI, there was only a 4 point margin between the Oilers, Leafs, Jets, and Flames last season. I know the Montreal doesn't fit that narrative but in all honesty, they are the most improved team this offseason, in my eyes.
Your Oilers will definitely be just fine this upcoming season, but the biggest thing carrying them last year was their ridiculous power play, and it's so statistically improbably to not see any regression. Disagree about the Canucks, as Holtby is too big of a downgrade from Markstrom and the defence is ugly. Calgary at 4th can happen though. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the 1st place team in the Canada division has like 6 more points than the 4th place team.

I know its easy to pick on the sharks after last season, but it will take the worst luck of any sports team ever to be worse than LA, Anahiem and Arizona.

Tampa can just threaten sending him down to the AHL. He’s already cleared waivers. I’m 99% sure he’d rather play in Cali with a higher tax rate than play in the AHL where players’ careers go to die. The guy is making 3.75 million dollars next year and has made over 28 million dollars over his career. No matter where he’s playing, I think he’ll be juuuuuuuust fine.

He is a good player but on a 2 year deal I'd guess around 2mil. If he's getting 3.5 it'd be like a 4 or 5 year deal.

In correct referencing and organization, volume 3 comes before subsection and it’s actually paragraph 948.

ok why don't you look at the description you idiot... Kravtsov is not a B level prospect. He is one of the Rangers best prospects and is dominating the KHL. Do you even pay attention? Buchnevich is a top 6 forward that you are undermining that is crazy. I added in Renanunen who is projected to be an NHL top 6 defenseman if not this season next season. So you are actually getting an additional piece. Then I added in the conditional 2nd which could turn into a 1st if Hertl resigns. Stop treating Hertl like he's a Matthews or a Toews. He has had the same production rate as Buchnevich but he's a center. Why wouldn't they retain on him? He is a UFA at the end of the season. You're crazy and clearly do not know much about anything going on in the NHL. I suggest brushing up on players and prospects. If you noticed in the description I said hypothetically. This doesn't mean it has to be Hertl you nitwit. HOWEVER, this is the going rate for a boarder line first line, mainly second line center!

a) Being a dick doesn't get your point across any better than being polite
b) Deleting your comment doesn't make it go away
c) This trade is ludicrous.
You've got to understand: Hertl is the closest thing that the Sharks have to an untouchable player right now. Provided he comes back from injury as well as he did the first time, he's going to be a very solid top six center for at least another five years, and as you damn well know, those don't grow on trees. Given those two things, any team that comes looking for him is going to have to overpay - and that's not a deal with a 2nd, a middle six left winger (which we don't really need), a prospective middle six left winger who still needs developing (which we don't really need), and a bottom pairing LD (see again: really don't need), especially not if you want a freaking pick back too.
Y'all have yourself a real nice night though, and maybe next time don't be a dick to the people who try to engage with you on this board.

13 goals/19 points in the post season seems to indicate that his speed doesn't really matter all that much. His bread and butter has always been tipping goals in and you don't need to be McDavid fast for that.
