yeah I dont see how that helps Buffalo unfortunately, although would be nice as a flames fan haha. Although I think they are looking for a more 2 way depth D now that we have Weegar, Ansdersson, Tanev and Hanafin. Plus you traded away our little bit of toughness on the back as well, and only have Kylington in the bottom pair, so I cant see them going this "weak" back there.
The Lucic one, I like the htought and I think the Bs would be all over this one, but the guy saying that you have to add a 12st for Lucic is obviously not looking at the deal. Yes, a 1st plus Lucic for FC maybe, but two points. Unlike Monohan, there is actually interest for Lucic. Dtill overpaid obviously, but still has a role that he plays well. So even for FC, probably wouldnt take a 1st to move if thats what it took for Monahan with higher cap hit and lower value. The other guy makes the clear point that we are taking cap hit back as well. So of course Boston would be down for this, but ultimately I cannot see Calgary doing this one either. But I know as much as all of you so who knows haha.

Seems like a lot of forwards for 2324
Yeah, I think Vladar's value is much greater than when we acquired him and there is potential starter there for a team. Moreso than Rittich, just more calm and consistent. Plus he is young and still RFA. I think you can and almost have to trade him as he could potentially get an offer sheet over 2.5 or 3M depending. (I think). Especially when Wolf will clearly be ready and under 1M. I think Kylington value high, so poteantially Big Z, but may get good value for OK depending on how Flames D depth ends up sifting out.

I agree to Keep Lucic too. I think he is important to room, unless you get severe upgrade. Could see this deal happening though.

all looks decently plausible overall though. I always laugh and wonder if before Tkachuk trade, if somebody put him in a trade for Huberdeau, Weegar, Shwindt and a 1st what people would have said on here. haha. Only thing is Coronato will be 925,000 rookie maximum almost guaranteed.

haha... yes Boston was fleeced, but I love the how the answer the Bruins fan has is the other extreme. You would have to start with Hanafin to get Pasta out there. Issue is 2 years on Hanafin, and one year on Pasta, unless there is a way to do a multi asset swap to get a guy like Debrusk as well where there is RFA retention, then would be tough to make a trade for Pasta as much as I would love it. Plus they need him. Would be tough.

Yes, but the log jam is a more of a "how do we get young guys like Sandin and Lindgrin experience, when guys like Holl, Muzzin and Giordano eat minutes, depspite Gios great price. They have a log jam but lack a top guy which Hanafin can be depending on who you talk to, seems to be two distinct opinions on that. Thats why I thought taking back Gio and giving them a #1A could work. but yeah, agreed that unlickely.

Yeah, never met the guy, no idea whether Foligno would do it. This obviously assumes all NMC and MTC are waived. I am not sure i would ever waive to leave Boston as well, so your probably right though.

scraps for Nylander haha..love the bias. Two value contracts for a team that needs cap space could be more realistic than you think. Just doesn't fir under the cap as you probably need at least 22. Anything less would be irresponsible. Normally 23 is the accepted, but with the AHL team right there, they could probably use that in their favor a bit to only carry 22.

yeah i know its not much for him, but it is hard to judge when a team looses leverage from needing to rid some salary. I was wrong that it wouldn't take a 1st to get rid of Monahan (in fact, I still thought we could get something for him small...man was i wrong. lol). So, needing cap space is pretty big leverage for teams negotiating against you I guess.

Best C Depth
smh....1) Valimaki is a subplot here, the point is he is moved for a pick, whatever it is, and whatever the team. I think that is relatively obvious. Regarding the depth, I would think Lindolm, Kadri, Backland and Statsny would be one of the best C groups in the league, and it would be tough to say its not pretty good regardless of any bias you have. And I still do *albeit subjectively* believe that if you have Statsny as 4C that would be a luxury that it would be tough to refute may be the deepest C core, subjectively. Also remember, I said Depth.

yeah, i think its more than fair. isles fans are all "no wayy!, connor mcdavid+" haha. normal bias. fact is we have a guy not putting up enough points to justify paying whatever he may make next year (not saying he is not worth it on potential, but that is subjective no matter what side you are on, good luck quantifying "i swear he better under a different coach, bro trust me"). plus wasn't Barzal's actual salary $10M this season? so i am not sure, but doesn't that make his QO next year $10M?? Im just saying, regardless of subjective opinions on potential, doesn't that make his points vs. firm QO somewhat risky? again, worth it for me, but if your looking at it objectively, that risk effects his trade value substantially, compound that with there is a premium for defensemen (remember Hall Larsson haha, okay not best example), and again add the fact that defensemen who already there is a premium on is on a value contract for a couple seasons vs, Brazal's, that no only would I consider a direct Hanifin/Barzal swap more than fair, but I am going to bet NYI would have to be the one kicking in a minor bump to get the deal done. people may feel a different way because he is skilled anf fun to watch, but if you strip away the 'feelings' and focus on the objective parts, there is really nothing wrong with this guys proposal.

Options and Coronato and Kadri
I don't think Boston would block trade and this has probably been talked about. Two bad contracts only one year left, but for room purposes it might be worth the million or so difference, and wouldnt be surprised if it was discussed when the others took the pay cut as a potential reason. The bruins trade is a pretty realistic, not a big deal trade, depth trade that will make a little space, not much for calgary, and the trade off is pretty slight to get Lucic back in that room, which they would like if cap was not a thing obviously.
Regarding the Coronato/Pelletier part. I believe I addressed that in the description. I thin most likely as well, but Coronoto has the higher ceiling I think, just not as NHL ready. That being said there are other factors including signing him before he gets the taste to wait out and be a college free agent, and the high ceiling is worth a quick throw in the water and see if he swims with talent, briefly, then you have a pelthora of other options, including Pelletier for a better solution if not.

I don't ever want to hear you speak of moving the 2nd in league Selke voting center to wing again. smh, why not move Makar to forward and sign Klingberg to D. The one thing EVERYBODY should agree on is Lindholm is this teams unequivocal #1 centre. lol

Bratt would be sick, but agreed...i also dont think there is anything that says we are not allowed to have a great D corps and we must get it down to average. I think we have enough assets to get a top 6 to package up younger depth guys like Valamiki, Dube and some picks. I like the line up, but looking at that D be just "good" again, instead of something that we can say is better than probably anyone elses, ..meh, unless you can get another NHL calibre D man...potential T4 but not Hanafin level int he deal as well.

I dunno, I like the Josh Anderson idea.....Right Hand Centre and LW Huberdeu account for probably 75% of the puck interactions, Josh Anderson can score. would be a decent fit and ive made armchairGM;s similar, althoguh I do agree that I probably wouldn't give that up for Josh Anderson. Haters are haters man, although I wouldnèt do that trade, I get what your thinking and its not far off base.

Boston Pizza Deep Dish
like the idea of the players, but you can't move one of the best centreman int he NHL to the wing for a less effective one. Not only that, you replace him with e left handed centreman, which essentially takes the puck away from the flames best player in Huberdeau. General line analytics: basically the forward that touches the puck most offensively from the NZ and OZ. not including DZ which is obviously the C, is your opposite side winger as the hand of the centreman. Think about entries, where C bumps it wide to his comfortable side and which side that normally is (there are anomalies keep in mind, there are rules and exceptions). Essentially that winger is the hinge between the C and the strong side winger and needs to be the "playmaker" so to speak. Often, that other winger is the cheaper option where you can put a pure shooter, or a crash and bang type. the line of JG, EL and MT was no surprise this worked because it was a perfect fit into this pretty much widely adopted concept. Taking EL off center eliminates him from as many puck touches down low in the DZ, and also putting a left handed C make JH less effective, that one move would significantly make the line worse, twice over. Also that other winger, because he doesn't touch the puck as much, is more likely to be the off-wing, but not always. This is why the idea of AM, TT, or even SM could work with a distributer like JH on the correct side (LW) to EL (RHC). Just for a true dark horse ill even throw Matthew Cornotto's name in there. He lacks the physicality of MT, but is scorer and cheap, and you do not wsnt him to get that much closer to another year of not signing, where he can start seeing the light at the end of the free agent tunnel.

Why Not
Yeah, disagree, I dont think its far off. As a Hawks fan you may say no. But your not getting any more for the rental. If the Oilers trade JP, they are not that concerned with "trading him far away" thats an old wives tale, except for maybe top guys who ask for a trade. But anybody you like that much that you are really that concerned with how close they are vs. the best value you get in a trade, well lets face it, your probably not trading away a player that you feel that strongly about. If they are willing to move him, they aren't that concerned. Otherwise, he will stay an Oiler. I see the points on the Vancouver cap issue, and agree that an alternate route for sure. Although Kylington will end up being a cost effective top 4 for some organization. He is just not a cost effective Bottom pair, especially in CGY where you know they wan't thier bottom pair a little tougher. Hence Kylington and Schenn would probably work for both clubs as a basis.
