Minny trade framework
Would have to wait until after the draft. Jackets are in a good position to take lindstrom. I would feel great about the jackets center depth if they do

Boom
Jackets aren’t trading any of those pieces for marner one for one. Not worth it for a rental that would refuse to re sign with Columbus. Not to mention he wouldn’t waive to come here either

Champions
Jackets decline. No interest in taking on rackell. No interest in trading Johnny especially not with that much retention. No interest in taking on jarry either. Pickering is an okay flier prospect. First round pick is the only intriguing asset coming back and only if it’s unprotected

Bad assessment. He’s been huge on the PK. Really focused on the defensive side of his game. He will be a great 2 way 2-3C for the next decade plus. Also he’s 20. Most players in his draft class have yet to even play a single game in the league. It’s not like he can’t get better.

You say that like it’s a bad thing for the jackets lol. He’s been nearly a PPG when healthy on a terrible jackets team. Jackets don’t need his cap space right now so despite what everyone on this site says they aren’t trying to unload him. Worst case they let his contract expire if he continues to get injured.

If a PPG is meh then I’ll take a lot of meh. Jackets had Anderson for some of his best years and he was one of my favorite players ever. He was nowhere close to the player laine is when healthy and now he’s completely washed and is being paid a lot more

Jackets easily decline. They aren’t trading laine for scraps. Have a feeling this is the new Jenner to the leafs or Kent Johnson to the Habs for jackets fans on this site

Cheap Lindholm deal
If lindholm is signing that cheap he’s going to want max term or a 1 year deal to increase his value. This is probably his last chance to cash out he’s not going to sign a deal that takes him out of his prime

Keeping Pace With Laine Rumors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoSeider53</b></div><div>:laugh Who would even want a guy who's missed close to 145 games in the past 5 seasons? Patrik Laine doesn't have that much value. He can't even stay healthy for 40% of the season Plus has issues that's why he's still on the NHLPAP for some 4 months.</div></div>
Jackets aren’t taking this package either unless the pick is unprotected. They would only make this move if they need the cap space for another first line forward acquisition. Taking on rackell alone isnt worth a first

He’s been fine in Columbus. He’s been close to a PPG when healthy. He just has freak injuries from dirty plays

Monahan just put up a 59 point season and was traded for a first. Even with his injury history he will want way more money than that especially on a deal that short

I’d be fine with that return for provorov but I think the team will wait to trade him at the deadline to make sure mateychuk or svozil are ready for full time NHL minutes

They can just wait to see if he can stay healthy. They don’t need his cap space right now. A healthy laine is worth a lot more than a second. Jackets have a ton of young players and prospects and need premium talent so trading laine who has been around a PPG for the jackets for a second round pick doesn’t make sense

Maybe Kyrou, but probably not. Buch could but I could only see him for Jireck as a 1 for 1. Even then I would do that if I’m CBJ, not given there current state</div></div>
Yeah not a chance the jackets trade jiricek one for one for kyrou or buch. Both good players but not good fits especially for jiricek

interesting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>It's an ok return, if the new GM decides it's time to be competitive, he can't trust Laine to stay healthy, and the $8.7M can be used elsewhere.
I'd rather keep him. Next year isn't the year to go for it, so it makes more sense to keep him and hope for a bounceback to either increase his trade value or cement him as a longer-term contributor.</div></div>
The only reason they trade him is if they can get better value elsewhere which I find hard to believe. If Guentzel pulls a Johnny gaudreau and wants to sign in Columbus for like 5 years 8 million AAV then sure but I find that hard to believe. Maybe they get a good deal on lindholm since he’s struggled this year. Just don’t see it happening though. If laine can stay healthy his trade value will go way up and they can trade him at the deadline when his contract is up
