Thread:
opinions needed on the draft pick value of some players
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Most people here are stupid. It’s harsh but it’s true. It’s also pretty damned unrealistic to expect the team to get rid of five or six players in one off-season. Most likely one or two of the players listed might be traded. There’s no reason to move Jost, Jokiharju, or Mittelstadt, and unless there’s a significant upgrade available, Olofsson isn’t going anywhere either. Bryson and Comrie can both be upgraded from, but it’s a question of who wants either one of them.
There could be a team looking for a cheaper back up goaltender and accepting Comrie. If the Sabres find a better option in free agency this off-season, assuming a trade for a veteran is off the table. I don’t expect them to go shopping for a goaltender in free agency, its trade or nothing gets done there. Bryson needs to go to a team that needs a mobile defenseman. He’s not very good in his own end, but when he was working the power-play and skating the puck up the ice he was at his best. Buffalo needs a more stay at home physical defender that can play in his place. The trouble is he makes more money than most teams would be willing to pay him, especially those that actually need a guy like that. I’m thinking about Washington and Tampa specifically who have older slow defensemen after the top pair, who can’t skate and get exploited for it. There could be other teams that might be interested in him, but you’re not getting much back.</div></div> You know people suck, I ask for a little help in realistically valuing some players, and only ( OLDNYIFAN) was a hero

In my opinion, your team doesn't have much depth on RD, so Jokiharju seems like an odd guy to trade away. He's well over the minimum age of 200 games for a defenseman and is fine on the third pair, at worst.</div></div> I don't have any bad feeling about Jokiharju but trade I'd like to look is an upgrade.

the truth there is a trade I'd like to make but I know a player might have value but not to a particular team so I want to convert players to picks.

Goofy predictions
If those predictions are goofy then I'm goofy too- the young players I'm pretty sure we move on from Bryson and Olofsson, players I change my mind on constantly Mittelstadt and Joki- of the older Girgenssons gets the nod over Okposo but maybe they are both gone.

Sabres proposal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Dahlin's quickly becoming one of the top D in the league, I feel like those guys always seem to be able to play either hand without much change in their play - so I definitely agree with you there. More brought it up because I saw that they were running a Power-Samuelsson pair in their last game and was surprised to see Samulesson playing the nominal RD.</div></div>
My friend is a old time hockey guy and he says #$^%%$ that handed stuff just get the best D-man - he said worrying about right or left shot is kind of a recent thing (idk)

Sabres proposal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>I don't get it from Buffalo's end - they have Dahlin, Power, and Samuelsson as left-handed defensemen - one of them usually plays on their off-hand so they can all get top 4 minutes. Giving up any sort of assets for Edmundson doesn't make any sense to me - when you throw in that Mittlestadt to Evans is a major downgrade, I don't see any reason why Buffalo would even take this call, let alone throw in a 3rd rounder.</div></div>
I'm not commenting on the trade itself but people talk like every D-man playing on the oppositive side of their handedness are at some huge disadvantage Dahlin is playing at a Norris level and much better than he ever played on the left side - and in interviews said it took him a few games but he likes playing on the right side better- maybe most D-man are better playing on the same side as their handedness but not all.

Lets see CBJ could use a center, Buffalo could use a power forward type and Toronto could use a little extra scoring in a playoff push-now why are you being rude, you really don't have to reply to show off how unworthy something is to be replied too.

Lots of contending teams these days flat out run 5 fwds. Also 11 mil for killorn and domi is hilarious. Zach Benson
Sorokin is a very good goalie but would he look the same on a very defensively loose Buffalo team compared to the Islanders who play a defensive style and has D-men who really fit that system? I also question if he'd sign a contract with any term in Buffalo - I think LA would be a much better partner on a trade like this.

Finding a RD (and that isn't Chychurn) to play with Power is what Inwould be doing. Not sure that is Henri, and it definitely isn't Lybushkin.
Which brings me to Risto. No way in hell he comes back to Buffalo. That bridge was blown up, burned and the debris blown up again. Better chance of the Pegula's selling the team.than that happening.</div></div> Chychrun in for Bryson immediately makes the team better- name one thing his 4.6 million contract prevents us from doing. Risto simply wasn't living up to his contract as far as I know there was no blow up of hurt feelings, Risto got to go to another team and found out the grass wasn't any greener - I need Risto as part of my rehabilitation of Puljujärvi.
