Yea bud were not getting bedard, that is why the post was titled "pipe dream". Also Debrincat was traded for less last year and just had a down year. Ehlers could be beaten but most likely no other team gives up on an A prospect for ehlers, you are dumb.

Sprong is a beast 5v5 and that is where the caps struggle the most, he also is a great goal scorer. As for labanc, just wanted some more speed and skill rather than mantha, im willing to pay that price to get a more complete team.

I think equivalent value of 2 firsts for someone who has struggled to stay healthy is pretty fair, but I also said in the descirption i would trade mcmichael or lapierre for him if they dont like the package.

well its a 1 year contract and a B- prospect for a cap dump, he probably is better than 1/2 of the hawks current lineup.

Capitals offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoVaSpartan</b></div><div>Can't wait to not be able to even sign Fehervary the next offseason.
Samsonov should not be traded in any situation, he has solid mechanics and elite athleticism, he's been screwed by defense this season.
Why are we playing Lybushkin and Alexeyev out of position here? Just let them play their natural side and roll the lines more.
I doubt Lapierre plays next year. Laviolette scratching Hathaway and Snively seems unlikely, he's clearly been a fan of both of them.
Kuemper would be a poor decision given the cap, he could get more elsewhere and Washington does not need him with Vanecek and Samsonov. We keep talking about how the goalies are inexperienced but the can never become experienced if they don't get opportunities to play.</div></div>
Sammy is literally awful both by just eye test and advanced analytics
Its really not that big of a deal to play them on opposite sides, the only thing i looked at was d pairing partners if needed orlov could switch with alexeyev.
Lapierre made the roster the begining of this year and could have probably stayed with the team if he wasnt competing with mcmicheal for 3C, he will defintely be in the nhl next year
Hataway could play 4th line instead of leason but like i said in the description its what i would do, same with snively.
Inexperience isnt the problem its samsonov being inconsistent and bad, goaltending is the only reason this team hasnt been sucessful the past 3 years and im willing to overpay or give too much term to kuemper to get solid goaltending. Also the roster is getting younger and less expensive and the salary cap is probably going up next year again.
You have horrible takes

well they dont have a good 3C and could use him at wing if needed, also they have enough cap space especially since they are no longer contending.

Wins above replacement
Pelech: 1.4

Look at the last 5 years, besides from this year Carlson has been better than both pelech and pulock combined. Mcmicheal is already better than wahlstrom and Fehevary is better than Dobson already.
Trotz has had to coach a bottom 10 team and brought them to the playoffs for three years. You are really dumb

If it's me, and I'm probably hitting up the free agent forward market (Gaudreau, Forsberg, Hertl, etc.) before I go crazy sending out 1st round picks during a rebuild. Team is certainly overachieving right now (Which is fun to watch), but they're due for some regression.</div></div>
I think it will be too expensive to bring in those players, and Mantha is on a really good contract. I dont think they are overachieving much i think they are there on merit and the younger players will only get better

Yeah they clear some cap space but still have 30 mil tied up in mediocre forwards and essentially no future cant imagine any young players would want to sit through awful management and a rebuild. Islanders are a worse version of the 2000's oilers incompetant management with overpaid players

Trotz is awful, Pelech and Pulock would be the caps best defenseman, Barzal is a top 15 center, Dobson and Wahlstrom are top of the lineup players. They are not rebuilding, most of the isles best players are young.</div></div>
First of all Trotz is a top 5 coach, he is dealing with bottom 5 management. Carlson is better than pelech and pulock, Barzal is lucky to be top 20 cener, Dobson and wahlstrom arent impact players and the islanders dont have any NHL ready prospects. They also have overpaid for mediocre middle six forward such as Lee, Nelson, PGP, Bailey and palmeri. You are very biased, have fun with the next 5+ years being mediocre or awful. Not even Sorokin could save your franchise

The whole point in trading samsonov is for the isles defensive system to help him and grow him into a starter, the potential is there. Also the islanders are going to rebuild becuase besides from sorokin and trotz they dont have any elite pieces and are in cap hell

I think if they are conifident in their younger players and prospects they will start prepping for playoff in the offseason, since they have most of the long term pieces
