Get rid of MacDermid
They still may sign foote and hienen, but macdermid is really liked in the lockeroom and in the GMs office I remember when Sakic brought him in, he spoke very highly of his presence in the lineup, he can play 3rd line defense and 4th line forward to fill in for injuries and maintenence days, it's good to have him when facing Minnesota, st louis and dallas to punch out Greenway, benn, foligno, and that giant in st Louis ( hopefully one day binnington)

Do Nothing Else
I was just thinking the same thing.. maybe they sign Meyers and fill the remaining spots from within.
If that’s the case, Malinski stays down in the AHL and Hunt comes up. If Malinski isn’t getting everyday minutes, he’s better suited to be in the AHL one last year.
Don’t love Meyers on that third line. Would rather he center the 4th and one of the AHL guys gets a good look on the wing on the third line.
Can’t pair Johnson and Manson together, too slow, they’d get easily exposed
It’s a shame Ranta took off to Europe, he genuinely could’ve had a shot to break into the lineup this year

LOL Colorado doesn’t even consider this for a millisecond. What’s your thinking in this as to why Colorado would do this?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mergus80</b></div><div>I’ve read Eller to Colorado in a couple of places, but I just don’t see it. He was a quality 3C on the Cap’s cup team a few years ago, but has obviously taken steps back since then. Colorado needs a quality middle six forward, if not a top six forward, to round out their lineup. I don’t think Eller is it.</div></div>
As a Caps fan I will love Eller forever for what he did in 2018, but yea he hasn't been great this year. I have also been surprised by all the rumors linking him different places and the supposed prices as well, but I am not as well connected as LeBrun or Duhatschek!

Pius Suter
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>I'd like to also point out that I don't think Suter is a good fit for Colorado as a 2C. He might be defensively responsible, but I do think Colorado will want more than 40 or 50 points from their 2C.
Good trade proposal thoughts though. Not far fetched, just not good on timing of the trade.</div></div>
He's not very young but he's only had two seasons in the NHL on two different struggling teams nonetheless. If the cost of acquisition is moderate, they can always just move on from him next year id they feel that he isn't a good fit. Perhaps he has a great season.

yes but it has to be a full calendar year later. so in this case it wouldn't work.

avs may consider trading girard
The Avs could use a center. If Sammy gets moved, it will be to get a center. BY trade or cap space. I hope they don't move G. This is the D they have wanted for years. To be able to generate from the back end on every pair is a big chunk of the identity of this team. Finally get it together, actually win a cup, and to tear it down for anything less then a solid 2c does not help the Avs to win.

For a pending UFA with 15 points on the season? Seems pretty steep with so many guys like him available.

No, COL wants Byram a dman, not an 18yr old forward that helps them in maybe 2 years.

Texier Giroux Kulak
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RedWing9119</b></div><div>Come on dude. You can't possibly believe that package gets you Giroux with full retention...</div></div>
Word is that Philly values Ranta, Helleson is a very good RHD prospect and Jost is a roster player that provides some bottom-six value and may benefit from a change of scenery. It's not a great package but Giroux holds the cards so that brings the potential return down.

Targets are true to form but he wouldnt be trading Kaut or Bowers if he really was staying true. He would be burning those 3rd and 4th round picks until the end of time

could they get giroux
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chopper02</b></div><div>Not saying they have to include Girard in this trade. But there are other guys who have been vital to Avs success who are up-Burakovaky, Nichuskin, Newhook the same year as Mac. Johnson's 6 mil won't cover Mac.</div></div>
Mack's next contract all depends on what the cap is. Historically, superstars have signed for a percentage of the cap, so odds are Mack will do the same. He's making $6.3m right now and if you take EJ's $6m and devote it all to him then he'd be up at $12.3m which, unless the cap surges, would be 15% of the cap. For reference, when Crosby signed his last deal, it was for 13.5% of the cap ($8.7m/$64.3m). We'll be just fine.
O and we're not trading Girard. Kadri will walk, Burakovsky may as well. Priority will be Kuemper and Nichushkin. Newhook slides in at 2C.
