I have seen him. Big, physical, ugly beard. Can push an offense. He has only played on bad teams. There is a reason the market was so hot for him last summer. GMs wanted him. He is one of those guys that will join a contender and immediately jump a level.

I have also seen him, big, slow, terrible hockey IQ and can shoot the puck ok if his team gets the puck up the ice so he can stand at the blue line and hope for a shot. He's the one of the main reasons these teams have been bad and it's telling that buffalo got better and the flyers got worse the moment he left.
One GM really wanted him and he paid a hilarious price and now the Flyers are bailing on him because they realised how terrible that trade was. He's awful, he's defensive poison.

The thing that blows my mind is that Savard got a 1st+ last year, the general consensus is that Chiarot will get a 1st this year, and meanwhile Ristolainen is putting up considerably better numbers than both this season (in Savards case last season) and people just rip the guy to shreds because.... yeah I don't really have an answer to that

yeah,but people also call short people midgits all the time. Holl is a decent number 4 guy who cant carry a pairing and Muzzin has been injured and awful because of it, so he looks worse. Risto is so bad that he's an unreliable 7th D unless all you do is put him out for offensive zone starts against 4th lines and the 2nd power play because he's so legitimately bad in his own zone

weird how people dont want terrible players on their team. Also weird how people love to forget that simply because some GM over paid for a guy in a conpletly different trade market that it does not translate to another year. yeah, that's not true. Holl is much better than replacement level and risto is much worse. Holl is exactly what you get when you want a number 4 defender and if he hit and crosschecked leafs fans that try and trade him every day here wouldnt trade him for anything less than cale makar (they'd be wrong obviously)
