Adams gets one last shot
Those are 3 trades the Sabres would not and should not make. 1 year of Saros does not cost a A+ prospect, unprotected 1st, a B prospect, and UPL (who would be a good goalie with any other D core in front of him). Murphy is an alright defenseman but wouldn't cost a A prospect, B prospect, solid 2-way forward and a pick. I'd peg his value at a B prospect and a 2nd personally. If we were to move on from Jokiharju (which I'm good with) we should be looking to acquire a solid bottom 6 forward or a D prospect

Really no point in stating the obvious, of course I'm not KA but just sharing my opinion. Why "might" that price be "more than we are willing to pay" as you put it? You haven't shared why you think that. We traded a 2nd and 5th for a forward with a career high of 12 goals and 32 points...

Yotes Are A Playoff Team
I think the Yotes could make better additions to their team than those players. Rakell's contract length is too much and Ferraro is good but I think giving up their 2024 1st is a highly questionable move

Not really, I watch the Leafs a lot and Kampf is a valuable player. Not sure why a depth AHL defender and a 3rd would be "a little more than we are willing to pay." If Adams was offered that trade and thought it too high a price then he has no business being our GM imo.

This does not make our team better. McLeod would be a great addition but RNH doesn't fit anywhere in the forward group and the Oilers would not trade him. McLeod for a 2nd or so is a good trade for both sides

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>I'd be passing on that if I were the Oilers. Wanner is likely going to be an NHL option during the final year of McDavid's current contract. If by jove they manage to extend both Connor and Leon, his ELC and subsequent bridge deal are going to be extremely valuable to Edmonton. I don't think Stillman is a full-time NHL option.</div></div>
Stillman is a more valuable piece than Wanner imo, but honestly the aim of the deal is moving Stillman to any franchise that may want more D depth and getting an AHL defender in return.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Id do that CGY trade now while in panic mode. I wouldn't give up that much on draft day after the season is over</div></div>
He's worth that package. 3 1sts is a realistic price to pay for a top pairing RHD like him with term. We have no roster room for Rosen or Savoie as it stands so we either stunt their development in the minors or trade them.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>So what's the deal with Krebs? I don't ever get to see the Sabres play and his point totals don't look good but that's rarely the entire story. What has he had for linemates? Is he just unlucky? Or is he just not looking like he'll pan out?</div></div>
He plays 4th line mostly with Okposo and Girgensons. So his offensive instincts have been tamed a lot. His compete and feistiness have grown to the point where he's a pest who will stir things up. Still lots of upside imo just needs a chance to play more minutes with more offensively gifted linemates to show it. If he was consistently playing in our top 9 I'd peg him as a 30-40 point guy. If he got top 6 minutes on a rebuilding team I could see 40+ points being realistic

I think it makes sense from a Sabres' perspective. Any value you can get from Olofsson is a deal that should be made. That would open up a spot for Quinn once he's back

What do they do
All of those players on the 4th line are far too talented to be playing there. IMO you keep Benson and Kulich and move Rosen and Savoie for either a top 4 RHD or a #1 goalie. Or you deal Mitts for a D or goalie and give that spot in the top 9 to Rosen. Savoie is the odd man out imo

One for one Krebs for Harris. Sabres would probably add a pick or another prospect if Arber or Barron were the targets. We got a ton of B level forward prospects and a few D ones too that would be available. Any of our picks could be in the mix to make the value happen.

Stillman is just organizational depth for us and is behind Bryson, Johnson, Clague, Novikov for LHD depth chart so he is definitely expendable. Paying a 3rd for a very good defensive PK forward with 50% or better faceoff numbers is 100% worth it

Pearson is a fine bottom 6 player but the Sabres don't need more forwards, we need D and goaltending so that just doesn't help us out.

Krebs for a young D man would make the most sense in the context of Montreal. Arber, Harris, Barron would all be of interest I'd say

Poor asset management trading away an A prospect, a 2nd, 3rd, and organizational depth for a backup goalie having an abberation of a year, a 4th C with great faceoff numbers, a 13th forward and a 3rd pair D man.
Sturm we could probably acquire with one of our B forward prospects and a 3rd. Like Kisakov, Neuchev, or Nadeau and a 3rd. We don't want Blackwood imo. Don't need Carrier unless we are sending back Clifton.

That's a crazy overpay. Mitts is a 2C 60 point player, still young. Savoie is a A prospect. Jokiharju has shown he's a capable 2nd pair guy, again he's young too. Adding a 1st too? That's like 3.5-4 1sts of value which is insane for a D man on an 8 year deal until he's 38

Evans would be of interest to me. Mittelstadt would just be a for fun throw in. Not really interested in a Pearson/Olofsson swap. Krebs I would really only trade for a RHD, so unless a Krebs for Harris trade is feasible than I'd rather just keep him

Joel Erickson Ek
Minnie has 0 reason to trade Ek, he's on a steal of a contract and is a super underrated player. The 1st and Willander is about 50% of his value. Myers is a cap dump. Pod is an unknown but likely pegged at a B+/B prospect so not much value when dealing for a #1 C.

As stated the Sabres org loves Greenway. He's been an effective PKer and is a pretty good forechecker. Outside of that there isnt really anything about his game that is special. Hes been a good bottom 6 forward for us and doubt we'd trade him. 2nd and 4th js more than enough value wise though
