Not really, guentzel is a very good player who gets to play with generational talent. Domi has never played with even close to the talent guentzel has enjoyed. Guentzel is not a 40 goal scorer on any other team, and I'm not trying to knock him cause I think guentzel is a very good player but the crosby factor is a real thing.

Besides, neither Bozak nor Steen will waive to come to Montreal.</div></div>
I always get a kick out of ppl saying players will not waive to go to a certain city on here. Also I didn't trade kulak to Stl so you can rest easy lol

Tampa's cap situation says you will be on the losing end of a deal. This at least is not an awful deal it's just better for Montreal. Also not a 60 pt guy and not a 50pt guy either... maybe you thought the trade was for someone else?

AA is overrated. Lehkonen is not going to produce as much but is a better player overall. The habs get worse in this deal and give up a 2nd in the process.

If he is just playing to try and win a cup why did he sign with LA? I really doubt he is going to get many offers and I just see him as a stop gap until we start to get healthy again. If he plays well he could win a roster spot over guys like cousins or weal.

No top prospect was moved in this deal. Also I would argue ot will be more like the stone deal as duchene is a C and ppl pay more for Cs. Now there was definitely a top prospect moved in that deal but no 1st

And I'll bet the habs want a better player than poolparty but he is available and should not break the bank... habs have some injuries so I think taking a short on poolparty right now could make sense but until he proves he isn't a bust he is a bust. Just curious but what exactly do you think the return on poolparty would be?

Suzuki at 2c green at tdl
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sebybbq</b></div><div>For suzuki i think he will but not this year. He have talent and a very great hockey iq but he need to work is speed if he want a role one the first 2 line. As for fleury he was pretty bad the first 8 games but is last five game have been much better. Habs have play more at home so he is use properly. He has been solid last 5 game using is body, he work on is quickness getting the puck to the forward for the quick transition. It aint perfect but i have improved significantly since is first games. Plus he started to shot the puck more effectively. If he keep improving like in those last 5 games he would keep is spot in Montreal. If he regress i think that laval is a good décision but right now he doesn’t deserve a send back to laval</div></div>
I should add that if they dont bring someone new in he should not be sent down. But I do see him as a current weakness of the lineup which is fine for now but without some pretty big steps I dont think you could keep him in the lineup for playoffs. It is a long season though so hopeful he continues to improve.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sebybbq</b></div><div>By your standard because he hasn’t register point he is not good?? But he have 37 hit, 16 block shot play around 14:30 a game thats not bad for a rookie defenseman of 21 years old. Last 3-4 game is game started to pick up a bit he join the rush, have some great shot on goal, and cut the turnovers. Right now he isn’t hurting the habs so there no point of sending him back to laval he will continu to progress faster in nhl</div></div>
Points are what I am the least worries about. Like I said he does good things, i love that he is a punishing defenceman and think he will be good in the future. However right now his defensive numbers are worse than mike Reilly's and that is saying something. We bleed shots against when he is on the ice which is part of why he is blocking so many. He simply is not ready and has a roster spot more because the other depth players mb got have been equally as bad with less future upside. I think going down and playing big minutes for laval would be better for him. As for green I dunno if he would work out here but my thoughts are he would do well somewhere he could have a lesser role at this point in his career. Also suzuki at C with domi on his wing is just something I want to see

Fleury has good parts to his game but he is not an NHLer yet, statisticallyhe has been our worst defenseman. Juulsen just got back after being off for a year and has yet to establish himself as an nhler so not a great option this year imo. I think green would be an upgrade on the 3rd pairing and is on an expiring deal.

I figured it would be seen as low but I wouldnt give a top pick or prospect for a #4 D I could see it needing to be a 2nd instead of a third but not much more. I see juulsen as having a very similar style and ceiling as brodin he just hasn't gotten there yet and plays on the side that Montreal doesn't have a big need. I will add that I never watch minny play so I could be 100% off but I dont think it's that far.

Yes or nop
Easy no for me I dont think Fowler is worth taking on Kessler. He is signed long enough and for enough money that it could cause caps issues in the future and is a shell of the player he used to be. I would consider taking on Perry's contract because it is 1 year shorter and he is not as bad although he is also pretty washed up.

Trade Deadline - Using Cap Space
These moves would make a lot of sense and seem to be pretty good value but the elder deal is a little low imo. I think he would cost a bit more because as mentioned above Vancouver doesn't have cap issues so adding gagner to the deal is not that much of an incentive for them. I would say either another pick or a prospect similar in value to fleury or maybe a bit lower.

Point is on pace to have well over 100 pts and flirt with 50 goals. If he produces in the playoffs Tampa bay cannot afford him without making other moves.

Yes he is... hence it is not 1 for 1. Callahan will not be easy to move as they have no space to take back a bad contract this deal at least gives them a quality player back at a position that they are weak. Do I think it will happen? No, but I do think that the Callahan contract makes up for the difference in talent.

Because the leafs defence is bad. So far they have played teams with equally bad D so yes the other teams defence was worse. Until they get some games in against other contenders and win the defense is going to be the big question mark.

Another option STL-TOR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>Hard no on this one.
For me this is all about age and cap management.
Kyrou is no where near Nylander's level.
Liljegren is no where near Parayko's level.......yet. But he could be.
For me, its a short sighted move and one that frankly St Louis should have no interest in.
They are an older team that is all in to win, their defence isn't what it used to be so taking 1 of their 2 best defencemen out of their lineup for futures just doesn't make sense.
From Toronto's perspective, I think they are shortening their window by making themselves a few years older.</div></div>
I don't follow your logic, If you are arguing that Liljegren could be Parayko, why is it not valid to argue that Kyrou could be a nylander? Both look like really good young guys who have done nothing yet. Also I would argue that Parayko holds more value than Nylander, A good D holds more value than a good winger. Add in that his contract is way better value than what nylander is supposedly asking.
