I’d prefer Liljegren over Holl. But being on the road and not having last change affects that. And with the PP clicking last game it just doesn’t make Liljegren a need right now

Season series with Tampa the Leafs were out scored 16-12 so I don’t think scoring is going to be an issue. But keep trolling kid. You always troll Toronto, they live rent free in your head

Theodore is worth more than Miller alone. Not to mention that Whitecloud has good value being a cheap top 4 right handed defence option, & then you want a top prospect AND multiple 1st round picks for Miller?! … that’s a McDavid type return. Not JT Miller.

Quality > quantity
Marner likely isn’t getting moved unless management has a drastic change of heart (losing in the first round doesn’t guarantee they will). It’ll take them getting beat and not looking like they’re even in the games to consider that move.
Now IF Marner was going to considered to be moved, it’s fewer pieces 6, likely closer to 4 pieces with higher value. Considering Toronto’s needs, I’d say you’re likely looking at Mercer + Severson (with an extension) + Sharangovich + conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st if Marner is top 5 in league scoring or MVP voting
Leafs won’t be looking to rebuild so players like Holtz, Gritsyuk, and Stillman really have very little value to them. You don’t get a consistent top 10 point producer for cheap - you wouldn’t like the price you’d be paying for him

What? Leafs were 2 - 2 against the Lightning this year and outside of the last game against them, they played them well all year - in fact Toronto absolutely throttled the Lightning 6-2 in their 2nd last meeting of the year and that was in Tampa. Not saying that Toronto wins the series or not, but to say that they can’t compete with them is downright ignorant. Stop trolling.

I doubt Kase will be back. Sounds like his concussion issues have caught up to him. & I can’t see Keefe not going with Spezza, he always brings that energy and steps up physically on the playoffs when needed. I’d take Simmons’s out for Clifford - Clifford’s been great this year and Simmonds is washed (although I doubt Keefe takes Simmonds out). Sounds like Sandip might be back for the last game of the year too so that likely changes the approach to the defence pairings to start too

Chaotic Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmgb</b></div><div>Maybe if Nylander had more term left before he's a UFA. Even if Jeannot was just a run of the mill 20+ goal middle six winger instead of someone with all the Tom Wilson-esque intangibles teams covet, they're still making out like bandits with this proposal. Hagel got the overpayment he did because of his team friendly contract for 2.5 seasons, and being a RFA when that's done (also, TBL paid a significant deadline premium - this proposal is an off-season trade).
Robertson has considerable skill, but I don't think it's NHL skill. I think he winds up being another tiny guy like Darren Haydar or Simon Gamache who can put up great numbers in the AHL, but can't hang at the next level.</div></div>
Lmao. This narrative of “this player could walk to free agency” is so overblown on this site. Every player could - and if that’s your excuse for not making a trade then it’s not a very good one. That’s part of the risk when you do ANY deal.. here’s an idea, you’d have 2 years to talk to Nylander about an extension. & hey if that’s your thought, could Jeannot just walk as a UFA too? Expires an RFA then only wants a 1 year deal so he can test free agency? Oh no!
Come up with better excuses. This is just getting redundant at this point from people on here.

I don’t think it’s much more than that. Robertson is younger and produced at a FAR superior pace in the AHL than Jeannot did and Robertson cracked the AHL before Jeannot did, Jeannot actually played as an overage player in junior. Robert son’s potential is still worth Jeannot. Jeannot is just highly rated on this site because of his physical play, but that doesn’t make him worth that much more when the skill level is already further in Robertson’s favour

I’m not denying that he’s a good player at all. But 1 good season as a 24 year old rookie doesn’t sky rocket you’re value to as the same as a 25 year old consistent play driver that’s minimum 60 points a year and is near a point per game this year on a great contact. The gap is much larger than people think

Nylander is worth more than Jeannot and a 1st sorry to tell you. Nylander has been a consistent point producer and play driver his entire career and has a much larger sample size. Jeannot has been good for 1 season and that season came as a 24 year old rookie. The gap between Nylander and Jeannot is much larger than a 1st round pick. If Brandon Hagel got the kind of return he got, there’s no chance a kid round 1st and a middle 6 winger gets Nylander. Sorry to break reality here

How does Toronto move the best player in the Nashville deal and still lose the deal by a landslide?
Jeannot = Robertson + 3rd
Niemela = Tomasino
Tolvanen + 1st <<< Nylander
Doesn’t make sense if the Leafs are still trying to win, which they are.

If Gibson is better and you claim that the defence he plays behind is the only reason why he’s had poor numbers for 3 seasons in a row, then again how are Stolarz’s numbers better?
You can’t justify anything you’re saying. Gibson is overrated. He’s not good. Leafs are better off keep Campbell at a much lower cap hit than Gibson’s overpaid $6.4m per year. Sorry but you’re just wrong here.

This was literally you’re justification that I just called you out on. I’m sorry you can’t admit or accept that you’re wrong, but you are. Gibson is not good. Stats say he’s bad. This has become the lamest excuse on this site. “Oh my team wouldn’t trade for that player because they could just leave as a UFA when the time comes “.. no shiit. Every player could. At that point why are trades a thing? Hell why sign a UFA or draft a player? They’re just gonna leave when they become a UFA.
Relax. You get 2 years to work on an extension with a player and then you have the advantage of being able to offer something that other teams can’t - the extra year.
Stop being bias and stop trying to find negative in everything. The game is a business, trades happens. There’s risks in every move, you weigh them and determine if it’s worth the risk or not. & if you think it’s not worth the risk of Nylander for this package then you’re absolutely insane.

Idk, that’s a tricky one. It doesn’t really address many needs. Mercer as a right handed centre with upside does, but that’s really it. Zacha’s no more than a 3rd liner and he’ll be looking for a big raise this year. And Blackwood hasn’t proven anything in a few years. It doesn’t save any cap and doesn’t address many needs.
I can’t see Nylander getting moved unless it’s for a top 4 dman, even as enticing as Mercer would be.
