Now I don't think Nylander can get that return without cap being sent back to the Leafs. But the idea is sound, Nylander for futures so Campbell can be signed.

Canes pass despite the value being on. Canes need both on ELC for next season.

Ah yes! Let’s dump a point per game player on a good contract for futures, to sign a goalie over 30 who’s shown no signs of consistency or the ability to be a starter! Brilliant! 🙄

I don't have any idea who Duszak is, but I'd probably take that deal if I was the Isles. Dal Colle is useless.

You are 100% right...William Nylander is easily the worst point per game player in the history of the NHL, and his contract is 100% an anchor because hitzzzzz, amirite? The lack of hitzzzz means that he can't perform in the playoffs, as evidenced by his (checks notes) 7 goals and 5 assists in the 12 playoff games over the past two years.

William Nylander is clearly the number 1 reason why the Leafs have struggled, and they should just buy him out, because he's jussssst the worst.

If Carolina offers this for Nylander I’d take it every day. However, I can’t see them doing it as they are in a similar situation to us. I could maybe see something like this where’s its a 3 way trade and Carolina sends a major cap piece elsewhere (Staal??) as part of the trade. Another option I’d be looking at for Nylander would be something around Dawson Mercer from the Devils if they want to be competitive. I also think a good package could be found available from Dallas if they want to buy pieces (Bourque +++)

Exactly, If we are trading Nylander we should be getting any teams best prospect and 2 1st round pick

He's an offensive defenseman, point per game in the A but has yet to play an NHL game, rumour is he wants a fresh start

Okay no.

If and when Nylander is moved, it’s for an NHL ready defenceman of similar age. They need to solidify the defence, not get younger and cheaper.

Canes pass on that trade. Nylander is a good player, but the Canes won’t give up 2 ELCs for 7mil in cap they can’t afford. Jarvis has earned his spot on the top line, so Jarvis won’t be traded. Drury is almost guaranteed to get a full time spot on the NHL roster next year, and will likely become Staal’s replacement when Staal retires, so Drury is out of the equation. Much like the Miller and the Sheifele situations, Toronto will want Carolina’s best pieces that the Canes will refuse to give.

You are extremely stupid if you think the Canes will even have the thought of dumping Staal cross their mind. Staal is easily one of their most valuable players, so dumping him would be incredibly stupid.

My guy it’s just an idea. Staal is loved fs, but his cap hit is rough. Maybe they can pay a team to buy him out and then they can resign him for cheap?

Yeah it would be way better to trade him for a 3rd liner and bottom 4 defenceman like your plan to move him for Walker and Moore or whatever it was. You really can't make fun of people for trading Nylander when you have done worse. At least in this case the two ELC's have potential to be really good players not just depth players. But as you like to tell everyone, you are the smartest person on this site.

Dude, seriously grow up and stop commenting on every Nylander comment I make. Go marry the guy if you love him that much.

You’re officially on the ignore list for this childish behaviour.

Sure bud, if you can't handle anyone disagreeing with you, maybe being condescending to literally everyone is a mistake. If you can't take it, don't dish it.

Pretty easy.

Villneuve is worthless to the habs we have easily 8 dmen 22 or younger who are better.

Mrazek is a sub .890 goalie signed to just shy of 4 million for 2 more years and is very injury prone. he will cost at minimum multiple 2nds to move.

Allen to the habs is worth atleast a 2nd round pick.

So 3 2nds minus a late 3rd = 2 2nds and a early 3rd which would easily net a late 1st.

I dont understand how mrazek making 3.6 for 2 years costs 2 2nds when andrew ladd before this year who had played a grand total of 4 nhl games in the previous 2 years combined at 5.5 for 2 years was moved for 2 2nds. Mrazek would cost a 2nd and maybe a mid round pick to move. Villanueve would be that mid round pick and there already is a 3rd. So it would cost ~another 3rd and a 2nd (or equivalent prospects) to make this deal. And thats not even going into the fact that allen ismt worth a 2nd on the trade market

I couldn’t care less if someone disagrees with me. It happens, it’s a site of opinions - if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t be on this site. What’s extremely annoying and immature is you commenting on literally every one of my comments on Nylander with the same opinion over and over - I get it. You don’t agree. Cool. You don’t need to keep finding me and saying the same thing. Grow the **** up kid.
