MY ideal lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drmantalban</b></div><div>Everyone on the 4th line is a better player than Beckman is right now. And it's not really close.
I don't understand our fanbases obsession with Beckman - he's a solid prospect who has some potential, but he's absolutely not a top 6 player right now.</div></div>
I don't disagree with you, but nobody would put pucks on the net at the clip that beckman would, I would just like to see how that line would play out, not saying that he is even a top 14 forward in the organization, just that the way he plays the game could turn into a surprising 30 goal scorer with those 2.

Does this even work
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>futurehofer</b></div><div>Well we wouldn't be cap compliant with the trade as stated here so we wouldn't have Nylander. Also, we're not going to be able to afford to re-sign him after next season so is he a 1 year rental? Adding him makes sense if we were pushing all in for 1 year, but this isn't the year to do that. I don't see how taking on Holl, who is not good, and Kerfoot to help Toronto out of their cap issues somehow makes it better to add Nylander for 1 year. If we're trading for a guy like Nylander, I want some term behind it or I want it to be part of a hard push for the cup which isn't happening this year.</div></div>
To say they aren't Cap compliant after this trade is a rather large oversight with a $2M D man as a scratch - they could easily move Merrill and call up an AHL defender to be the scratch, also if they aren't making a push for the cup why would they resign Fleury and why would he resign here? He just wanted to play out his last couple years in the league on a team that isn't going for it? Nylander has another year after this one as well, which, the Wild will lose both Dumba and Jost, so all you are really doing is trading Greenway for Nylander in this deal, where there are currently 14 different forwards which would not at all be surprising to see them make the roster out of camp.

If there were forwards available for FC
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>The leafs can give you a 2 for 1 deal by giving you Holl and Kerfoot for FC. Or heck, if you’re sending out Dumba maybe something could be arranged.</div></div>
One thing that I was toying with was if they made a legitimate offer for Nylander to give some of these young guys a chance at the roster, something with Greenway and Dumba (50% retained)as the headliner and then let the chips fall where they do elsewhere, so the leafs are trading 1 good player with roughly a $7M hit for 2 solid players (Greenway could really break out, I think Dumba is who he is, a decent second pair RD) and save $1M against the cap.

Askarov is the only one in the conversation, that being said, all of the experts in prospect rankings disagree with anyone being close to Walstadt, and well, a cheap goalie, is significantly better than trading for NHL ready 3rd liners when the wild have a top 5 prospect pool full of NHL ready talent.

I mean the world is not falling apart by any means, but this is a 20 man roster with 387K in cap space, add 1F and 1D at league min you're 1.2M over the cap, that's not to mention injuries or anything that are bound to happen during the season.

If the Wild did take Holl and Kerf
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>Ben Chariot is one of the worst defensive players in the league, has been for years. Even if his value was 'significantly' inflated than that would put him at, say a 2nd and a 3rd. So Holl, who is better than him, and a team gets him for the entire season should easily net a 1st. right? That's how it works?
This logic thing is really easy, if you know how to use it.</div></div>
Is that an opinion or is that fact, because there are these things called stats and also advanced stats, where, well it is absolutely clear that Chairot is better than both Holl and Kulikov on a 3 and 5 year average, the problem with logic, that you clearly do not understand is that a premise cannot include an opinion to come to a conclusion.

At the deadline, one, I would vehemently disagree that Chiarot was worse than Kulikov or Holl, two, deadline deals are significantly inflated due to teams making pushes for the Stanley Cup, logic is not hard, for me at least, you, might be a different story.

If Kulikov was worth FC from a team that was already under the cap, logic would say that Holl would have negative value, however, it seems logic is hard.

I would say that Dumba is getting closer to a TWD these days than an offensive defenseman, but with offensive upside that hasn't been seen since he tore his pec. If that offensive potential was hit, I would have to think he is worth a lot more than this
