Trades
MIN
  1. Holl, Justin
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
  3. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
I see the value of offloading Holl offsetting Kerfoot's value at ~3rd rd pick, Holl is probably a FC or maybe 7th, so going with 4th rd value on Kerfoot
TOR
  1. Dumba, Matt ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Retention on the deal worth ~2nd rounder, Dumba himself ~late first

Does Leafs really need more offense from their blueline? Just curious.

I would say that Dumba is getting closer to a TWD these days than an offensive defenseman, but with offensive upside that hasn't been seen since he tore his pec. If that offensive potential was hit, I would have to think he is worth a lot more than this

They have no intention of offloading either player

Then what is their plan for the cap? It's just fake? They aren't going to sign Sandin?

It doesn't sound like it. Sandin wants more than the Leafs want to pay.

That’s what they get for having another player be repped by Nylander’s agent.

Sandin wants one of two things, guarenteed play time on a team that has 3 NHL LD or 3 years term which ups his AAV and puts him out of cost reach for the leafs even if they werent so pressed

well, when someone says something dumb about one players value, it's tradition to compare that to the player they are trying to move them for around here.

You’re right. Holl isn’t worth FC. It would actually cost the Leafs to dump him. But I guess since Holl is a cap dump, by your analysis, that makes Dumba worth much less than his actual value. Truly a brilliant comparison for players who can’t be realistically compared outside of playing the same position.

If Kulikov was worth FC from a team that was already under the cap, logic would say that Holl would have negative value, however, it seems logic is hard.

ben chariot got a 1st and 4th and a prospect and he's worse than Kulikov or Holl, so logic would say Holl is worth more that. however, it seems logic is hard

At the deadline, one, I would vehemently disagree that Chiarot was worse than Kulikov or Holl, two, deadline deals are significantly inflated due to teams making pushes for the Stanley Cup, logic is not hard, for me at least, you, might be a different story.

Ben Chariot is one of the worst defensive players in the league, has been for years. Even if his value was 'significantly' inflated than that would put him at, say a 2nd and a 3rd. So Holl, who is better than him, and a team gets him for the entire season should easily net a 1st. right? That's how it works?
This logic thing is really easy, if you know how to use it.

Is that an opinion or is that fact, because there are these things called stats and also advanced stats, where, well it is absolutely clear that Chairot is better than both Holl and Kulikov on a 3 and 5 year average, the problem with logic, that you clearly do not understand is that a premise cannot include an opinion to come to a conclusion.

yes, there are things like stats, and advanced stats and it is absolutly clear that chariot is not even on the same planet as holl

but then, i used logic and looked those up, great way to form a conclusion other than listening to people on capfriendly like you seem to have

and if I go to the player cards on the athletic, or I go to the advanced stats on player profiles on this website, its a different story.

wheres the bad argument? a significantly worse player got a big return, why is holls value not higher?

Because logic says so. 🤣🤣🤣 Oh wait cause Leafs are above the cap. That’s the one he’ll say. Cause no team ever got value while trading above the cap. 🤣🤣 But tbh I wouldn’t even be mad if Leafs had to trade like a 7th to move Holl. Lol it’s 2 mill so you’re not asking for a 1st or a 2nd to take it. You let teams have a bidding war on Holl see who takes him and then you run with
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Gio
Benn-Mete
Or just move Muzzin free up a lot of cap, sign Sandin and have
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Gio
Benn and Mete as scratches
To start the season.
