<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VRCR</b></div><div>I thought so, but what would be reasonable in your opinion?</div></div>
he's never even hit 30 goals your are giving up 3 good picks, a prospect and a decent center who could play at least 3C all be it he's on IR, not sure what the injury is.
I would probably take out the two 2nd round picks.

Well when basically the entire team had their best years last year, not that shocking that they aren't as good as they were last year

This is a ridiculous team, lol. I can't believe there's <em>still</em> $1.5M in space.

VGK and OTT 3 way trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gofnut999</b></div><div>I forgot to factor Ckarkson in. You sure stll? They have 4.2 in cap space. Clarkson and Eakin gives them another 9.1 = 13.3. Minny contracts = 13.8. Still over. But thery are already over the roster size so some housekeeping could make it work.</div></div>
Yep I just made a Vegas team with this trade. With a 23 man roster they have $1.7M in space (I'm not sure who Vegas' bottom 6 players are so I just kept the more expensive players to be conservative in my estimate).
Here's the lineup I have for them:
Marchessault - Karlsson - Smith
Pacioretty - Staal - Niederreiter
Haula - Stastny - Tuch
Lindberg - Carpenter - Reaves
Theodore - Spurgeon
McNabb - Miller
Merill - Holden
Scratches are Bellemare, Engelland, Schmidt (with his suspension)
Clarkson on LTIR
Shows <strong>$1,737,500</strong> in space.
I was shocked myself when I saw how much space they had which is why I made this trade in the first place!

Dark Horse
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VRCR</b></div><div>Love the Faulk trade, reallly makes sense for the team but time is tight to make it happen.
In terms of the lines, there’s a lot of changes. Hyka is no where near making the 23-man squad. Based on how things have gone so far in the preseason, I could see Haula playing 2ndLine RW with Stas and Patches. I would then put Nosek-Eakin-Tuch as the third. The fourth would be Carrier-Belle-Pirri/Carpenter.</div></div>
Honestly, I got the lines from this article about what their bottom six should look like and just took that. Hyka being part of it surprised me too, but I just assumed he was closer than I'd guessed. So you probably know better than me what the lines should be, this is just based on some article tbh

How Opening Day Looks Right Now
Probably right on the button. The only question is whether Brannstrom is ready. But I sure wish we could sign Alex Chiasson -- I just have a feeling about him. Then Eric Haula could play in one of his two normal positions.

I don't doubt it. Perhaps you can use him till Schmidt gets back and then flip him, it's an option.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VRCR</b></div><div>I’d disagree because from all the Knights games I saw last year, Nosek fit the system really well and got into plays well even playing on the bottom 6. He looked good in that first preseason game and projects to play well this season while I think Lindberg gets traded by the deadline.</div></div>
I agree with that last part but fit can bring out the best in a player and if lindberg fits on another team than he can certainly be better

Newsflash, if the other Karlsson puts up similar numbers he will cost closer to $10M than $5M. Good luck with that.

I like both trades so much, I would sweeten them if necessary. Don't think either Dallas or Toronto would be interested, though. Too bad.

If EK65 Goes To UFA
I'm like 65% sure he get traded before sens training camp. If not then, 98% sure he gets dealt at the TDL. If not then, the Ottawa management team is the biggest waste of air I've ever seen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VRCR</b></div><div>I love the look of this idea, but cap space is gonna be tough for 2019-20. Could make it work since Haula and Schmidt won’t get big raises and some fringe players can be traded/re-signed for less.</div></div>
It would be tight but may be doable, the cap has been going up by about 2-3 mill a year recently, also the 2 mill retained on Brassard is off the books. Being generous with a 3 mill cap increase, that gives you an extra 5 right there, not to mention the 3.3 from Williams will be off as well. There’s 8.3 right there. Moving on from Bellmare and Engelland (likely retires) will give them over 10 in space

Very strong roster -- very good job. I disagree that any of the players are clearly overpaid. I think you're really right in the range for everyone.

For Montreal to match that offer they would have had to pay him $8.4 million AAV. Got to love not having taxes

I dont hate that contract for him. 4 years is the perfect amount of term, probably had to go a little heavy on the aav to get the term down but thats better than 6 year extention
