That's because there was no sarcasm in your comment...you just got called out and are back-peddling.

Maybe they won't have too... I guess we'll have to wait and see how much they want him.

Ahhh. I misread. Thought you were saying they still wouldn't do for 2nd and 4th.
You're probably right about not doing it yet...i think they're just trying to see if he responds to being benched.

I get it...you're a Flames fan.
If you don't think the Flames would trade Bennet for a 2nd and 4th, what do you think he's worth?

You don't think the Flames would take that trade for a player that's a healthy scratch...
What do you think Bennet's worth?

Final 2021 Roster
Is Weegar really that good? He hasn't played a full year in 4 season and plays with Ekblad.
I feel like Dermott has just as much upside, younger, faster skater and isn't injured as often.
Hoping the Leafs don't give up on him too soon.

Thoughts
I think the Leafs sign Dermott to a 1 yr contract because he would have arbitration rights next yr so they can take advantage of that.
Whatever arbitration Mikheyev gets, my guess around $1.2M, the Leafs can offer a 1 or 2 yr contract. It would make sense for them to sign him for 2yrs because he would become a UFA after a 1yr contract.
Engvall is waiver exempt so he'll likely be in the minors. No need to give him away unless they get something decent in return.

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Joe Thornton (1 Year / $700,000 AAV)
Leafs management keep talking about having more experience and leadership in the dressing room.
How about they take their own advice and get some in the front office!

I'd rather put them on waivers then give them to the Sens. Plus you'd save yourself a draft pick.

HollKerfoot for ThorntonHamonic
Hamonic wants to stay in the Western conference so he can be close to home. I also don't feel he's worth $4M but who knows, Dubas likes spending money.
Why would we give Ottawa those players for nothing? If you're going to give them away why not choose a non-division rival?

Minors...give Dermott a chance. If he doesn't perform bring Holl back up.
One or more of the D are going to get injured this season.
Need to have some backup in the minors.

Well Poile is a smart GM.
I think Preds will have to spend some $ on offence if they want to be a contender again.
Will be interesting to see what they do...maybe buy low with Athanasiou and still have lots of cap space.

Vegas and Tampa have cap problems and will probably have to let go of someone for less than market value. Sure, Nylander would be preferable to most of the possible options, but not at the expense of what NSH would lose on defense with this trade. Replacing someone like Ellis would be harder than finding someone like Nylander.</div></div>
I was thinking of Hoffman as a potential target for Nashville. I'm kinda surprised they haven't signed any big UFA's so far. They could definitely use the offence.

Hardly gutting depth...still have lots of comparable forwards in the minors to fill bottom 3.
The grit is from Sam Bennett. Yes Leafs need playoff grit BIG TIME!

I think your RFA numbers are pretty close.
4th or 5th seems right for Engvall, just think a different team as Arizona barely has any pics next year and they're at the cap so I can't see them trading a pick for a bottom 6 guy.
