no more a revolving lineup. i like him playing minutes with reichel and kurashev buti would play him more with bunting and raddysh. maybe even with compher as the center and him as a wing. id give him as many different looks as possible.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Epic_Ninja_Dude</b></div><div>Canucks decline. Garland and Niederreiter are very similar value. However, moving back from the 11th pick to the 17-19th pick is way too much to pay to dump Myers. Vancouver can pay Myers bonus and then send him to a team looking to hit the cap floor for cheap. Anaheim seems to make a good partner, and fans from both sides seem to agree on a deal of Myers plus a 4th for FC's.</div></div>
tbh i thought vancouver was 14 or 15th so i thought it was only 2 picks back

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>Big question is what is the scheifele extension, or trade? And also when is peak return for ehlers and or Connor? Extending scheifele is rather questionable at this point, with the possibility of having to move him to wing and also getting younger at the same time. Also probably have to have a tough conversation with morrissey and possibly hand him the c through the tough times ahead. Lots of different scenarios, but moving out top 2 cs and expect a quick or easy retool is not in the cards in my opinion.</div></div>
a lot of uncertainty with this team anyway you look at it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burnout</b></div><div>That's literally what Hoffman is.
Montreal got a 1st round pick to take Monahan's contract for a year, if Vancouver is willing to do that then its another story.
Again, there's no real reason Montreal would consider this
I think hes a better fit, a slightly better overall player, and significantly younger than Hoffman and entering his prime years. Multiple reasons to consider Beauvillier</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burnout</b></div><div>Even if they liked Beauvillier (and that feels more like a "hey, he's French Canadian" idea more than an actual fit, since Montreal has guys to play LW and are rebuilding), its still a close to straight swap for Montreal since both he and Hoffman are UFAs at the end of next season. There's just no gain for Montreal here and a straight loss in both cap and real salary.</div></div>
Beauvillier being French Canadian was a big factor but also he can play both wings, top 6 or top 9, I think he can fit just about anywhere. I think he'd be good to play for some of those young guys they have coming up, and if he isn't a good fit he's not a hard contract to get rid of. Similar to the Monahan situation I guess is my thinking

REBUILD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ohmyjlord</b></div><div>There's some merit to the Habs trade. MTL would take on $2.15m in salary, but only for a year while getting rid of Hoffman's extra year. Beauvillier is a piece Hughes would probably be interested in, and having a one-year ticket to see how he could fit on the team is interesting.
Not sure how Myers would fit in a defense with Matheson, Guhle, Harris, Barron, Xhekaj, Kovacevic and Savard though. Assuming everyone stays healthy, I guess we could carry 8 defensemen and come up with somekind of rotation, I don't know. At least, Myers would bring experience, size and is a RHD, so there's that going for him...and at this point, he might have more value than Edmundson if we intend to flip him at the deadline with retention.
Not overly enthousiastic with the offer, but I'm willing to talk it out if I'm in Hughes' shoes.</div></div>
If they buy out Myers then they get beauvillier for 2.15m instead of picks, seems like something I'd be interested in if I'm the habs

I can't see any teams taking on bad contracts rn without high draft pick compensation and I'd rather dump garland then pay draft picks to dump poolman. I think Vancouver has some good young wingers and garland gets in the way of them getting minutes. Either way I don't think Vancouver going to be good next year so might as well shed the salary

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burnout</b></div><div>Its also a lot of extra cap for Montreal to take on with no real benefit except for the handedness of the D-man. Its much easier to just play Edmundson on his off-side for a season than make this trade. And while the Habs have money, I doubt they love the idea of paying Myers bonus considering its payable September 1st, not July 1st.</div></div>
My only justification is I think they'd like beauvillier, it's only 2m and he could be apart of they're core moving forward, would probably just buyout Myers, it's not like they don't have the money

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>If Grier shopped this deal around, I'm sure another team beats it. I get that San Jose would be taking bad contracts back but this is a lot of nothing for a player that, even if he's only playing at 60% of what he's doing right now, would be top pair on most teams in the league. Barrie makes sense to send back, sure, but Foegele is an overpaid bottom-6 guy, Janmark is a guy that's spend half the year in the AHL, and Puljujarvi is a full on reclamation project at this point. I think you need to throw *something* else with some value in here for it to be something the Sharks jump at.
I think the "three 1sts" is a bit much to ask, but I also think that other teams would be willing to pay more than this if they wanted to get Karlsson.</div></div>
Yeah I agree, those players are in the deal to fit ek65 under the cap and Edmonton in my opinion could give more picks to make a deal happen. Question is whose more desperate than Edmonton rn, and should San Jose do whatever it takes to get the contract off the books now so in 5 years it doesn't **** them over
