Offer sheet fixer upper please dont blow it up MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nilees24</b></div><div>Hmm. Should it all fall apart next year, there's a long list of UFAs to consider. For me it's Danualt (7yr 42mil) & Gallagher (7yr 49mil) as the only UFAs to consider long term. I'd depart with all other UFAs (Petry, Tatar, Weal). Perhaps fetch a good price at Trade deadline 2021. As for Armia, it would be a fair offer to keep him (4 yr 16 mill) but he could fetch more in free agency so its a no sadly. For me, all RFA's are resigned (except maybe Lehkonen in a trade for an early round pick).</div></div>
Would love to see a 2021-2022 season posted by you, make sure to tag me! Cheers!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nilees24</b></div><div>HAHA I'm certain the cap will go up slightly over 81,500,000 next year. As for Ducks deal, I suppose to make up for the picks lost as compensation to CLB in 2021. As for Dubois' offer sheet, CBJ will struggle to match especially if its front loaded for salary. CLB has too much rolled up in contracts next year and there priority is resigning a goaltender.
Dubois is tremendous, I'd be willing to overpay to make the playoffs next year. MB isn't shy on these offer sheets.</div></div>
The cap concerns aren't a joke. How do you plan to resign Petry, Danault, Gallagher, Tatar, Armia, Lehkonen, KK, Poehling, Fleury? Assuming the last four don't get much of a raise (underperform in 2020-21), and Tatar is let go, you still don't have any cap left for Petry, Danault, Gallagher. And that's the best case scenario. IDK this doesn't make sense to me, not for PLD, as much as I think he's a great fringe 1C to have.

I understand that you have to overpay to succeed in an offer sheet, but this is a bit over the top, no? It would cripple us for ever subsequent season. Also if you factor in the $625K you want to retain on Alzner (but forgot to do within the Capfriendly system, cool feature), you're over the cap here.
Also why the Ducks trade? lol

I never understood Carolina's longstanding obsession with defensemen... It's awesome to see, but I haven't ever seen this type of defense core winning the cup. Always been an interesting team to follow, and I wish you guys the best, but I have my doubts.

Our left D have been not as good, Nurse makes tons of mistakes and Klefbomb is injured often. Please watch the oilers once before you make things up.</div></div>
I genuinely don't think either one is sustainable, but I guess time will tell. Either way, I don't care, I'll root for another Canadian team any day of the week, so whatever works works, for however long.

The second is an opinion, so *shrug* if you say so

A winger for McDavid MTL
Serious underpay, and Montreal hadn't been interested in JP thus far, so I don't see how it makes sense to make him the central piece of this trade. Either Domi goes for a key prospect, or he goes for a good LD (ex: Nurse, if he were RFA controlled, but he's not--or Bear+). I don't see why Domi would go for any other reason. We have no reason to trade him, especially not for a prospect with big but very questionable upside, a career 4th liner, and a 2nd. We need more certainty than that.
Also if you don't intend on resigning RFA-controlled Domi, then it doesn't make sense to trade for him. Grab a UFA rental, so you can get away with underpaying.

Also, Edmonton's bottom-6 and whole RD side really needs a revamp. Oof.

My Ideal Habs Deadline
Colorado GM Joe Sakic literally just said that Timmins, Newhook, Byram are all untouchable. So that first deal can't happen.
As for the Carolina deal, their offer was Bean + 1st, so adding a 2nd and replacing Bean with Fleury is probably also be unrealistic.
I understand the basis for the other two, cheers!

I would be upset to see him go unless you get the right deal.</div></div>
I understand, though I'm sure you can understand why the Habs wouldn't want to let go of a legit top-6 forward so easily either, right? Blockbuster deals have to somewhat sting on both sides and cause controversy. Big name for big name.
Anyway, cheers, and have a happy end of season!

Regardless of what others say, I would be happy with this. People forget that in the real world, if you get greedy and hold out, you might not end up selling at all. Even if Coleman got more, that's because one specific team REALLY wanted Coleman. And guess what? Now there are less buyers available, so you have to work with what's left.

I think a Tatar trade with the Isles, if there is one, would involve a 2020 1st + Wilde.

I feel like if Habs are trading Domi, they need an asset of similar quality back, rather than a quantity of interesting but notably inferior assets.
I'd always envisioned a trade surrounding Domi and Ristoleinen, hoping to capitalize on the tension around Risto this season.

MTL Curious
It's a controversial topic among Habs fans, as many feel that he shouldn't be traded and should remain part of the core. No clue what MB thinks though.
Either way, we'd need a good young D who is currently top-4 or a prospect D with top-2 potential. I don't think trading him for picks makes sense for even some in the "trade Domi" camp.

Keep your condescension to yourself. I also pay to see games. You don't need to be a Robert about it.
Zadorov isn't the leader of our #1 rival like Chara. If Habs do acquire him, I feel like they won't be booing him for long, if at all.

Your trades aside, I have a feeling MTL is scouting Zadorov. But I think you're in the relative ballpark of Tatar's value. Boston trade is situational--depends how desperate they get, since they only need to swallow 1 year of AHL Backes if they don't do the trade. They may find another way out that doesn't involve their 1st pick.

Getting A Top 6 Winger While Rantanen Is Out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MitchMarnerElite </b></div><div>The Leafs get a top 4 2-way defenseman with size & physicality, a good defensive Forward that helps them stop the cycle in their own end & a late first. They still need to do more than just this 1 trade to be a contending team but it definitely gets them in the right direction.</div></div>
Marner - Makar, one-for-one, no retention.
GM Dubas will otherwise hang up the phone, 'cause Leafs aren't in rebuild mode at all, so they have no reason to sell a star forward for several notably inferior players (even if they're very useful). I also believe the current deal wouldn't make sense for Toronto either (not because of value, but because of needs)
Would the Avs trade Rantanen easily? Obviously not, so Toronto is in the same place.
