Description

I don't know if the Oilers can afford to keep him as I don't know what he'll be asking for. I'd hope the Oilers dont have to sell the farm to get him as hes having a down year.

I just thought this would he a decent pick up as hes young, fast and hes played with McDavid when they played for team Canada.

Serious underpay, and Montreal hadn't been interested in JP thus far, so I don't see how it makes sense to make him the central piece of this trade. Either Domi goes for a key prospect, or he goes for a good LD (ex: Nurse, if he were RFA controlled, but he's not--or Bear+). I don't see why Domi would go for any other reason. We have no reason to trade him, especially not for a prospect with big but very questionable upside, a career 4th liner, and a 2nd. We need more certainty than that.

Also if you don't intend on resigning RFA-controlled Domi, then it doesn't make sense to trade for him. Grab a UFA rental, so you can get away with underpaying.

Not happening. The original trade was close but Montreal will not be getting any of the pieces mentioned in any of the posts on here. Adding the fifth or sixth prospect is about as much as would be added.
