Big trade
No from Winnipeg on both. They don't have enough RHD to be able to give Pionk away for nothing.
If the Jets are spending a major asset like Ehlers, it needs to be for a player with term or team control that fills a need for the Jets. They can't spend it on an one year of an LHD that doesn't help them and they don't need.

Superstar is a stretch. I get liking your players but come on. Brady is a superstar too, I guess? Although "superstar" is subjective.
Makes you wonder why Ottawa is consistently one of the worst teams in the league if that is true.
Anyways. Stutzle is an excellent player and I don't blame you for not wanting to move him, but exaggerating doesn't make your point better.
But if it makes you feel better, yes Stutzle is more valuable than McGroarty.

The Jets don't need one year of Chychrun and Ottawa isn't moving Tkachuk. The Jets can't afford to spend that many assets and not fill any holes.

Ridly is nice and all, but the Jets can't spend those kind of assets on one year of a player that does nothing for them.
If Chychrun was an RHD and had term on a reasonable contract, the Jets might do it, but as an LHD he isn't worth Ehlers and Perfetti and a new contract.

Cap dumps and spare parts don't get Ehlers. Start with one quality piece and go from there.

Very little value and no needs meet for the Jets equals an easy no from Chevy.

Ouch. Basically all players that couldn't get an offer from anyone else.
At least I'm finished work now, so I can have a beer and make all this go away! :)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boojets</b></div><div>yes lets believe you instead of someone those job it is to get their clients as much money as possible. Canada actually has actually has tons of deferral taxation options that really go limit the taxes you pay as long as you can afford to have some of your money tied up.. which an athlete making millions certainly can. Also I believe NY state has an almost 48% tax rate to manitoba's 50% so like 100k a year difference before applying all the things Canada lets him do. Oh and thats assuming all his games are played in NY or MB which they aren't... He would actually get a tax break playing in the west compared to the east so really the taxes likely a wash but here keep that narrative alive.</div></div>
Yup. Believe what you want not what the players actually say and do. If you're happy with believing that great. I'll stick with the the actual reality of what players do.

There's not much incentive for Winnipeg to do that. I'd imagine they'd want more of a sure thing that played a position of need.

That's probably part of Buffalo's problem. Playing guys above where they should be. Unfortunately Joki is what he is at this point, an average 5/6.

Well as a Canadian that lives and works in the US, I don't buy it. Yes, it is easier to hide your money when you make a lot, but in the end, the government will stick it to you somehow and the US has a much better tax rate.
Sure, it isn't important to all players, but some aren't going to want to go back.

Yes, but top 4 RHD. A bottom pairing guy looking for a raise doesn't give the Jets anything they need. Bottom pair is easy to fill.

Heinola won't be included in a deal unless it is for an upgrade defenseman.
Benson is nice, but LW isn't a need if the Jets move Ehlers.
The Jets aren't moving that 2nd to downgrade.
