I didn't make this team pal. If it costs nothing to keep Panik then great just keep him buried in the AHL. I'm just telling you for 50% retained the Coyotes could get way more than a 2nd and a 3rd for Ghost

The 2nd and 3rd are the price to just dump Panik in isolation. Given the season he just had Ghost could fetch a larger return than that on his own, especially with retention. Yotes HARD pass on that

Flyers Keep it simple
Little's contract is largely paid by insurance so yeah he has a cap but it's almost no real dollars, unlike JVR. I think it would cost a lot more to move JVR, it won't be anything crazy most likely a 2nd a prospect like Stralman last year.

I think the Coyotes would want more than just the 2nd since 7.6 in cap relief is a huge number, but not much more, like either another pick in the 3rd or 4th round or a middling prospect

HAHA DREAMING
Let me get this straight.. the Coyotes take on 13.8 million of cap charges (and it's close to that in real money because Smith makes 2.5 in cash next year and Kassian makes 3.5 which is higher than their cap charges.. I know insurance covers Klefbom but still) and for next season they take on 7.7 in cap charge and for ALL OF THAT the only sweetener is a pick in the late 20s?? The first wouldn't be enough on its own but sending back two second rounders to EDM? Nah son, try again

I think the Yotes wouldn't mind if its a the 2023 3rd consider we already have the option to exchange the 2025 2nd for Toronto's 2023 3rd round pick. So the 2023 3rd would mean the Yotes just own both picks. Or if you go from the 2nd to a 3rd you can upgrade the prospect to someone slightly better than Abruzzese

Look I love the idea of bringing Wheeler back to punish him and making him play out his days on the team he turned his back on while we tank... truly I do. But I doubt the Coyotes are on Wheeler's 5 team yes list. Also in isolation, Heinola and a 1st isn't enough for Chychrun. Vesalainen is a bust, he's got no value.

Zucker is a massive negative asset, he's played only 57% of possible games the last two seasons and hasn't produced when he has played. It would greatly benefit Pitt to move his money out, and the cost of doing that is likely a 2nd round pick, maybe a second and a prospect (like Stralman from Florida last year). So the trade you've proposed boils down to Poulin for Crouse straight up and the Coyotes would obviously say no to that.

Way more than a 5th or 6th.. likely the same cost as moving Ladd or Stralman last year. Multiple 2nd rounders or a 2nd and a good prospect.

Whats with all the Chychrun trades
The only deal the Coyotes are accepting for the Pens is one where you pay them to take Zucker or Pettersson. Pens just aren't a fit for a Chychrun trade because you don't have any blue chip prospects and any first rounders coming back at likely to be in the mid 20s which just isn't commensurate value with what other teams can offer. In this specific deal, I'm sorry but POJ doesn't equate to 1st round value, he's already 22 and has yet to break through, he's shown some flashes in the AHL but he's almost aged out of being a prospect and doesn't project more than a #5 in the NHL and that's best case scenario. Taking back Pettersson in this deal makes it cap neutral for the Pens and that's a win for them, in isolation the Pens would have to pay the Coyotes to take him so that's not returning value to the Yotes. Légaré is already 21 and coming off of a rather uninspiring AHL campaign, he just doesn't move the needle for me. So I guess Blomqvist is this prize here?? I yes he's a promising young goalie but he's not a blue chip prospect. It's just not a fit

Yes but he didn't like it. He played right side a bunch this year, due to injuries and roster shuffling and he wasn't as successful.

Time to Contend
That's not enough value for Chychrun in my opinion. Even with the #8 pick coming back the Yotes are asking for either Edvinsson or Cossa, and it's fine if you think that price is too steep. Wallinder is a good prospect and i'm not saying he isn't but the 2nd and 6th rounders really don't move the needle so the trade is really #8 and Wallinder for Chychrun and I just don't think that's enough. Now if it's 8, Wallinder, and Söderblom that could be a deal, or #8 and Edvinsson that's a deal. But as currently constructed, not enough

Chychrun Kessel
I like the value of this trade. Turcotte and Grans are top 5 Kings' prospects and the 1st rounder is good value. However, Walker is a fine player, but he's coming off a massive injury and he's already 27 which doesn't fit the Yotes timeline at all. I know he's in there to make the money almost even but if you want the Coyotes to take him back in this trade you'd have to add another piece, because frankly it helps the Kings too much if he's in this trade. Walker has been passed on the right side by Roy, Durzi, and Spence and moving out his money would be big win for the Kings, if he was healthy this would be a different story. So if he's in the deal I think the Kings need to add a bit more, be it another pick (likely a 3rd) or another prospect that is outside of the Kings top 12 in their system (like Simontaival).
But on the whole this is a fair trade, which is better than 99.9% of what you see on this site, so good job

Weber Era
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>More to that than just quoting me for no reason?</div></div>
Okay.. so let's walk through this. VGK give up Martinez (old, expensive, often injured, still a very good player when he plays but that's been an issue lately. It would help VGK greatly to move his money out); Brossoit (a 29 year old perfectly serviceable backup goalie, however he's coming off a career worst season); Pachal (a lets say C- level prospect who is already 21, steady defenseman with very little offensive upside, profiles as at best a #5 defenseman in the NHL but even that seems like a long shot); Ahac (another defense first defenseman who doesn't look like anything more than an a #6 in the NHL if he even gets there... neither him or Pachal are even top 10 VGK prospects); and a 3rd
Here's what the Coyotes give up: Lawson Crouse (a 24 year old full time top 6 NHLer who just put up a 20 goal season with a career high in points too (shortened by injury, he would have flirted with 30 goals) despite spending most of his season being centered by Johan Larsson, and playing on a historically bad team); Karel Vejmelka (a 26 year old goalie who just handled starter duty and put up good results despite being behind a historically bad defense, he also just signed a 3 year extension to STAY IN ARIZONA, but apparently we're ignoring that)
So it nets out to VGK move out Martinez and his 5.25 mil for 2 years, a league average backup goalie and his 2.3 mil, and two prospects who may never even make the NHL. The Coyotes give up a top 6 winger and their starting goalie. So yeah that's why AZ laughs you out of the room with this crap trade.
Also on Crouse - if he were available on his own would net the Coyotes a 1st round pick and good prospect. Regardless he's not available, as the Yotes GM has said he's part of the core and resigning him is a priority.

The only deal the Coyotes are accepting for the Pens is something like the Anaheim deal where you pay them to take Zucker or Pettersson. Pens just aren't a fit for a Chychrun trade you don't have any blue chip prospects and any first rounders coming back at likely to be in the mid 20s which just isn't commensurate value with what other teams can offer. Also re Crouse: he's extremely unlikely to be traded on his own let alone in a deal with Chychrun. GMBA has said Crouse is an offseason priority for the Yotes and he's part of the current NHL core with Keller-Schmaltz

LA Kings Chychrun Nichushkin
You're not getting Chychrun without giving up multiple of Turcotte, Kupari, Sam F, Clarke, Grans, Bjornfot and multiple 1st rounders. There is no world in which the Coyotes also send you back a pick, let alone a high 2nd rounder. Vilardi is a bust, he's barely younger than Chychrun and has shown little to nothing in the NHL, Sean Walker is a fine player but he's 27 which is way ahead of the Coyotes timeline and coming a major major injury, Austin Wagner is an low ceiling 4th liner.. so really the only good pieces for the Coyotes here are Spence and the 1st rounder, which just isn't enough and there's no way Spence is who the Coyotes would want
