So because he's returning college its not a good player? And you're right maybe not as promising as I said but he's still a good prospect that as the potential. Btw I don't think Mtl will get Lundkvist or whatever from NYR for Chiarot but still its a good return IMO

I mean Anaheim got a promising future top 4 defensman + a 2nd rounder. Between that and a late 1rst rounder I'd rather take what Anaheim got... I don't think prices for rentals will get higher than that.

something around 3/3,25 millions I would say

Pretty sure Petry just want to get out of Mtl lol. And you're right for Copp, he was just an idea for a 2nd/3rd center.

leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>no, the difference here is that I know that the habs dont need middle 6 forwards and you think the leafs need bottom pairing defenders from the worst team in the league to contend and should over pay hilariously for them. Edmunson isnt a top 4 shut down D, he is bad. The leafs dont even need defenders at all unless muzzin is done. Their current issue is that they have two goalies who are having an awful month. that is all.
Bad defenders, especially 'shut down' guys who cant shut down anything are not on the list</div></div>
Alright lol, that's why I said "that could be anyone else". I totally disagree tho saying Edmundson is bad, I can understand the chiarot thing but I respect your opinion

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>ok so the habs should trade their next two 1st rounders for pierre engvall and ilya mikheyev because they cant score</div></div>
Difference is Leafs are 1-2 players away from being top5 contenders while the Habs are one of the worst team on paper and on the ice. I don't think Toronto should go at high end defensmans like Chychrun or H. Lindholm-they're already maybe the best offensive team in the league, that's why I gave as an exemple a good top4 shutdown defensman but that could be anyone else

Had not seen it like that but you're right. I just think the Leafs would benefit from a true established top 4 defensman next season and of course a number 1 goalie

Oh you're right-didn't realize Jones was a lefty. But ya probably have to throw in an asset. Maybe he would try to make a bigger deal for Schneider at this point...

Like the thinking, I think they're going to chase a 2nd/3rd centerman at the free agent market and trade Dvorak during the summer. I also doubt they're going to draft a 5"7 centerman with Caufield, Suzuki, Evans, Pitlick, Lehkonen, Gallagher under 6 foots. Rangers fans are highly going to disagree with Lundkvist being trade for Chiarot, maybe Zac Jones could be an option?

TDL ALL IN Tremagic Bring on the Haters
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Westerner69</b></div><div>Thanks Alex, a respectful intelligent response, much appreciated and very rare on here. I do very much agree with you, and have no problem at all running with the current lineup AT ALL, and we still have a little depth at all positions, especially come playoffs if we can sign a couple more prospect to entry level. I would still like to see a cost effective experienced playoff defenseman in the mix for depth come the playoffs, Chara would be amazing for the team, locker room and although certainly not his old self, would put every single bit of himself into whatever role give to get to another cup. Staked, yes right now, but one or two injuries in the wrong place and we quickly become very vulnerable. I love Pelletier, Phillips, Gawdin and others play in Stockton (number 1 in the AHL!) and would to see them come up near the end of the season in preparation to their Black Aces roles, or in relief of an injury. Cheers, Alex.</div></div>
Hahaha not often can people have normal conversations on this platform lol. I think Calgary will be very tough to face this year. The thing with Lehkonen is that the price is going to be very high because he's a product from the organization that we drafted & developped and that is still pretty young+he showed he could potentially be a 35 to 40 points guy. if Calgary wants to make a trade for pelletier, that would made my day tho

TDL ALL IN Tremagic Bring on the Haters
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Westerner69</b></div><div>Hmm, other than a sought after LD who would most certainly be even better on a good team, a LW/RW who is most definitely a big upgrade on Dube who can score, move up and down the line up on both sides, and a goal tender with NHL experience, not long from high end flashes as an insurance for the playoffs? Besides we need to fill in a little more scoring as there is very little chance we get Chucky and Johnny back next year. Taffoli and Lehkonen are of course not them, but a start. You and few others are always a guaranteed instant negative responses, atleast your consistant, many times as if you don't watch hockey at all. All good, I know you obviously have nothing better to do, and I'm just having some fun. Cheers</div></div>
the flames are already pretty stacked up IMO and with the Toffoli trade you're pretty much done in terms of offensive depth. Chiarot would be a great fit especially with Sutter but the asking price will probably be way too high.

I don't think he's the best backup but he's got 0,924 sv% & 2.06GAA in the playoffs through his career and I really hope Crosby, Letang & malkin can go on a solid last run even if jarry gets injured but you're right desmith has been good so far

The value that MTL expects for Chiarot is not what what TOR is willing to pay for someone that is also underperforming this year. We don't have a Shea Weber that can elevate his game to where it was last postseason.</div></div>
You're right. The asking price is probably to high but I believe some people underestimate the effect chiarot could have on their team but ya it probably won't happen. I watched the Calgary-Montreal game and you can see players don't wanna go on 1 on 1 battle against chiarot lol.

I've watch the leafs for quite a bit and trust me, chiarot would be huge for them. Habs would keep him if they could. He's an absolute monster to play against especially in a playoffs context. With Muzzin coming back and Lyubushkin, leafs would be way tougher to play against then previous years. I think 1 or 2 B+ prospects would be great for both teams. I agree for Dvorak tho
