I would do this if Gustavsson didn’t have a 1 way next year

Ya, we don't really need Mrazek at all. I'd also rather keep Forsberg. But hey, at least it's not Forsberg and Holden for Mrazek, their was an armchair gm of that today.

I was wondering yesterday if we could package Paul and Forsberg to add another 1st round pick

Maybe, Forsberg could be the best goalie available at the deadline if the Sens want to move him which I don't like but it is possible, and Paul and Forsberg could be worth 1st + good prospect or 1st + mid round pick.

This just doesn't do it for me. The Montreal trade is so bad for TOR that I don't even know where to start.

They’re both very cheap and easy to fit under the cap

They might be able to flip one of Gustavsson, Mrazek, or Murrary in the summer, i think it helps the Leafs out this year and gets them out of the Mrazek contract for next, and gives Ottawa a 1st rounder in the more sought after draft of this and next year.

You know what, looking at that trade youre right, i would go back and take out one of Lil or Abr and see if Montreal takes it

Chariot isnt better than any d they have and dvorak isnt bettet than any top 6 forward they have.
They certainly are not targets for the leafs

Wow, the love for other teams players knows no boundaries. What's so special about Paul? Leafs left wing is fine....Engvall and Paul are equals.
Rather have Kerfoot than Dvorak.
So Charitot and Forsberg costs the Leafs, Liljegren, two firsts and second and Steeves? C'mon

I would start by not making a trade like this at all... It's more than just being of bad value.

I've watch the leafs for quite a bit and trust me, chiarot would be huge for them. Habs would keep him if they could. He's an absolute monster to play against especially in a playoffs context. With Muzzin coming back and Lyubushkin, leafs would be way tougher to play against then previous years. I think 1 or 2 B+ prospects would be great for both teams. I agree for Dvorak tho

Adding Chiarot is one thing-- but if Muzzin comes back healthy, means you're benching Sandin?

The value that MTL expects for Chiarot is not what what TOR is willing to pay for someone that is also underperforming this year. We don't have a Shea Weber that can elevate his game to where it was last postseason.

You're right. The asking price is probably to high but I believe some people underestimate the effect chiarot could have on their team but ya it probably won't happen. I watched the Calgary-Montreal game and you can see players don't wanna go on 1 on 1 battle against chiarot lol.

Ive watched the leafs for a very long time and trust me, chariot is horrible and one if the worst defensive players in the league.
He is an absolute liability and can't defend against any sort of offensive pressure. He's bad, very bad. He allows more shots and chances against than almost anyone, he's slow, immobile and handles the puck like it's a rabbid mouse.

While i agree that he's not great when it comes to movement when we are talking about hockey playoffs and 7 game series its not going to be the Liljgrens of the world that are going to get Leafs over the hump. I'm a die hard leafs fan, i watch every game too, im not saying that the Leafs need a team of Chairots, but i strongly disagree with people who do not see the value of having a couple of players like Chairot come playoffs. If the Leafs roll out 6 defense that include Lybushkin, Muzzin, and Chairot i think you'd see the front of the Leafs net clear up in a hurry.
