Buch’s value >>>>>>>>>> Tarasenko’s value
One is a RFA coming off a 70pt pace and plays top PK minutes. The other has 2 expensive years left on his deal, 3 shoulder surgeries and scored 24 points in the last 2 seasons

St.Louis obviously doesn’t value Dunn as much seeing as he was healthy scratched multiple times and they’ve been trying to trade him for a year and Tarasenko’s value is at an all time low. Teams don’t know if he can return to his old form and they know the Blues don’t hold many cards in the situation.

His list supposedly only has 10 teams on it and even then I doubt all of them have cap room/any desire for him. You’d be hard pressed to get a better player back than Buch

Tarasenko’a deal is up after 2 years and Buch would probably be looking for a longer term at around the same AAV. This would allow them to pay the contracts ending in 2 years (Miller, Laf, Chytil on a bridge) and prevent a long term road block for Kakko and Kravstov

Seeing as he’s a RFA, he literally can’t unless it’s an offer sheet. Also no player is stupid enough to say something like that to the public. Closest he may have said is “I’d like to play for St.Louis at some point in my career”

If Hes Available
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Terry_AkiSauce</b></div><div>That's why the post is called "If he's available". Don't know why you both act like it's impossible for him to be moved if they acquire Eichel since he'll likely want a big payday and could literally walk at the end of the year even if they have the money. I can agree the return might be more but it's a possibility he gets moved</div></div>
But it’s really not a possibility that he’s moved. A team doesn’t go “all in” so they can finally have 1A and 1B centers just to trade one of them before they play on the team at the same time.

Makes zero sense for the Rangers. They don’t go after Eichel if they don’t think they could retain both as top 2 centers. There are others places they can cut salary if it comes to it long before Mika goes on the block

To the grand majority of NYers, hockey is completely irrelevant. Even beyond that Hideki Matsui put out an article in the Player’s Tribune last week about how even as the World Series MVP no one in NY bothered him on the streets

Eichel Stays
The reason Eichel is still around is because of the expansion draft, not because Adams won’t budge. In all likelihood they probably already have a deal in place for him as soon as Seattle’s picks are announced

Also this would be a terrible trade for the Rangers yes but could you see them doing it? Like James Dolan hearing Zack Kassian and asking "will he punch Tom Wilson?" Rookie GM, maybe wants to please the owner with a tough guy for his first big move</div></div>
Kassian is a massive negative asset. Drury doesn’t have to prove anything to the owner of a team that previously named him captain and just cleared house out of fear of losing him. No one will give two positive assets for three negatives

Blackwell Scored at a 21 goal pace and is making league minimum. Kassian is on an atrocious contract and brings very little to the table. Maybe if you add a #1.

Which defenseman would Elliotte Friedman have in mind for trading 4th overall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alfie11</b></div><div>I just don’t think it makes sense to move Drysdale or Bouchard (those teams need young RD and I prefer both over Clarke). Jones and Dumba are probably a little old. I think I’d prefer 4th over Boqvist. There might be the possibility that they trade down a bit for a decent D rather than aiming for a high end one.
Grans or Faber + 8oa? LA could move up to snag one of Hughes/Edvinsson, they’ve long expressed interest in adding a high end young LD, Grans and Faber are both decent prospects, both right shot D, and NJD is still in position to take a guy like Johnson at 8.
Lundkvist + 15oa? High end young RD that’s pretty close to NHL ready, he’s expendable for the Rangers because of Fox/Trouba/Schneider, and they may also want a high end LD to round out the left side (they’ve got Miller and not much else, Lindgren’s okay but you probably want someone better when you’re competing). Becomes much more appealing for the Rangers if Beniers slips to 4 somehow. They might even take McTavish.</div></div>
I don’t think the Rangers would move Lundkvist straight up for #4. They’ve invested a lot of time and think very highly of him, plus this draft’s top talents (at least the ones around at 4) have a lesser star probability per Byron Bader’s model.
That goes before mentioning that I doubt either team could stomach trading such a valuable asset to the other
