Matthews to Arizona
So everyone just ignores Matthews exit media interviews eh? Says he wants to resign long term and will get it done this summer.
Everyone on caofriendly, "it's a lie! He wants out! Please!!! Please want out? Please make the Leafs burn...."

Knies is ranked in the 20s for top NHL prospects.. Atay was ranked in the 40s. A closer option would be Nick Robertson.

Lmao.
Larkin would get something around the Horvat return. OP is pretty close to that here. Plus NMCs consistently have proven to mean lower trade returns

Garland Buch Mayfield
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mediumyeet</b></div><div>Big defensive dmen (especially one on a good contract) that can play top 4 minutes always get overvalued at the deadline. The recent comparable trades would be Chariot and Manson.
Chariot 50% retained went for a 1st + 4th + low prospect
Manson went for a 2nd + good prospect
Mayfield should get a return somewhere in this range.</div></div>
Considering the amount of big name forwards that could get moved in addition to the other defenders, there just might not be enough 1sts to go around. Who else is available and when the trade happens is going to matter, and which trade sets the market are all going to be factors.
Last deadline, those types of defensemen were in high demand and aside from Giroux and Hagel, they were pretty much the top targets.

I notice you can't actually address any of which makes me believe I'm correct ... which kind of standard for you. You can never address legitimate points so you act like you don't have to. It's never an argument of facts with you, it's an argument of how you feel and if you don't feel the same way they must be wrong. A constant string of large Blues bias.
I'll sum it up with 1 simple question for you that you can address. Why would we have a reasonable assumption the Blues will be better next season than they have been this one?

Well they have a bad defense locked in for term, bad goaltending locked in for term, are losing 1 or 2 of their top 6 forwards, probably their best non-top 6 forward, they don't have internal options to reasonably replace them and most of the cap space created is going to new deals already in place. Is there any reasonable expectation this team is going to be better next season than this season which they are going to miss the playoffs in? Nope. You can cope all you want about it but thats the fair outlook for the Blues.

Sandin is a Top 4 D-man making 1.4 for another year, You understand very little about Value if you think Sandin is worth nothing compared to Meier, Meier will be getting a 1st,A prospect & another pick or prospect that's about it because that’s how the Market is

Of course they don’t have to move him, but they should move everyone they can that doesn’t fit into their next competitive window which is…5 years away?
Offers won’t get better next year.
He’s not getting a 1st imo; maybe (only) if hawks retain .

All for getting critical pieces at deadline but you don’t give up young top 4 D for a rental. No chance we can sign Meier next year.
Sandin /Liligren are one of the top D pairings in the league this year and are signed to $1.4M deals & 4-5 years from FA. they’re not going anywhere.
McCabe is overpaid so maybe hawks know they need to retain to move him; I like the offer - no way he’s worth a 1st.

Miller for Niemela
Honestly I’d love this trade for Vancouver. Don’t know much about Abruzzese but Niemela and a first + is great return for Miller. Kerfoot might be a decent 3C and it’s nice to have a hometown boy. I feel like this is a very realistic Miller trade
