Rangers should now trade for Glenn Anderson, Brian Noonan and Stephane Matteau.

You're not wrong in terms of actual value, but the Jackets don't need any more 20-23 year old mid prospects. For RHD they've got Bjork, Peeke, Blankenburg and Boqvist at 25 and under already and then Jiricek and Ceuelemans on the horizon. Add in Gudbranson clogging up a roster spot for 3 more years and there's really no room. Pretty much every position has young guys in the 20-23 range lined up other than LW where they already have Gaudreau and Laine taking care of things. Any prospect they trade for would have to be clearly better than who they've got in the system otherwise picks are what they're after.

He's a quality prospect but he's not what the Jackets need, so unfortunately that doesn't work for us.

Laf is not there yet. Love Kakko and Chytil is coming along nicely. Kravstov is expendable, but I do like what he has brought, he just needs to get stronger and older, which of course takes time.</div></div>
Yeah, but currently Goody and Blais get chances over him. And bottom line is, Laffy wasn't drafted to be a top 9 checking forward. So why have he played most of his 176 games on that position.
If they actually played them on the top 6 to begin with they wouldn't have to go for rentals now.

If they win the Cup- then you live with that...but the NHL is so random that no move (or moves) can guarantee a Cup...so the most likely scenario here is a barren cupboard after getting bounced from the playoffs at some point because Igor was unable to maintain a .950 save percentage!

They 100 % will pay for a rental but they will still sit there young players in favour of veteran player.
Do I think they should do this? No! But that is one of the things that pains me being a blueshirt

What is Isac Lundestrom doing in there? He's a better prospect than any of the Rangers.
We would do Lindholm for the first and Nils Lundkvist, or Rakell for the earlier of your two seconds and Lundkvist.
Welcome back, by the way.

If OTT is not keeping Paul, this is a trade I'd like to see happen. The value is fair, and Paul and Ennis would be great additions to any playoff team.

As a Wild fan, it's a good deal.

Questions for NYR fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>campi95</b></div><div>Everyone expects a guy taken in the top 3 to become Mcdavid or Matthews, but that is not a common thing for most prospects. I consider both to moving along fine. Laf is showing sign that he has arrived playing on the 1st line of late. Kakko is currently injured, however when healthy he plays strong on the wall, the points will come ideally I see him as a perfect compliment to panarin, and before he got hurt they were playing together a bit.
The lack of points could be for a variety of reasons. Usage for one- Kakko and Laf have not really seen a great amount of top 6 minutes or PP1 time. The PP time though is hard to argue when the Rangers powerplay is clicking like it is as a top 5 unit. And the fact that both are still very young and this is truly their first full real NHL season. A positive sign for Laf is that he scores at 5v5 and has been improving this year looking like he is coming into his own.
The easy and lazy thing to do is to call them busts. To say that either are on the same level as Matthews or McDavid is delusional as well. I think they are both high quality young forwards that will be top 6 players for a their careers. Laf to this point has "shown" more in terms of recent success, but I really like Kakko's game personally.
I am more of a glass half full fan when it comes to both of them. There are quite a few Ranger fans that can be impatient and fatalistic when it comes to prospects. With these two I want to see where they are at by age 23. Give them until then to be comfortable and fully grown. Though this current team is in desperate need of depth at forward, and I will be curious to see what happens at the deadline. I would stay away from moving Laf or Kakko by any means necessary, and trade draft picks and other prospects to acquire the necessary firepower. Hope my ramblings helped.</div></div>
yeah thanks! That's pretty much everything I wanted to know héhé

I think he is underrated, but i see your point, but the sharks would opt for more futures rather than pick up another pending FA, we aren’t going anywhere this year but should be playoff caliber next year.

Miller starts with Lundkvist.
Nemeth is 2.5M, while being labeled at dump he isn’t really a dump that is going to cost major assets. Nemeth might cost the 4th and Gaut, the rest of the package is fair for JT retained.

Yeah exactly. Even if we do somehow slip into the playoffs, we're gonna get mauled in the first round by the top seed(s). Ahh well it was a good run being in the playoffs for like 15 years straight anyways. Just gotta hope the future ends up working out.
