I think one of Pelech or Mayfield would fit what SJ needs better.. Then maybe a 2nd or a 3rd.

he'll be 26 when the new contract starts. i think he's just gonna take his 8 years. Morrissey is the comparable contract, although Pulock does have some more O than him. I say 6.75 x 8.

CBJ Trade
Wilde ready next season? Yeah i doubt that, especially with our logjam at RD. He's the most valuable piece we can afford to trade.
And is Wahlstrom not going to be in the top 6? Is Brassard signed to an extension? Maybe if i'm Lou I consider it if he finishes north of 40 points. 3 year/10 Mil or something like that but
this team really needs to get younger.

I think you dump Ladd on Detroit with Wilde or 1st as a sweetener. Boychuk is still serviceable and will be 6-7D next year then probably bought out final year of contract.
After that dumping Clutterbuck's and Komarov's contracts shouldn't be too hard.

No way we're signing Barzal, Pulock and Toews at those prices. Barzal's getting 10 most likely, Pulock 6-7 and Toews 5-6.

Ideal Cap Dump and Starting Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeygoalie53</b></div><div>Leddy hasn't "regressed" over the last 2 seasons... 2 years ago under Weight, the Isles were an offense first team leaving to high offensive numbers and really bad D numbers team wide. Last season under Trotz, they were D first and offense second resulting in MUCH better Defensive numbers across the board and down offensive numbers across the board. Hence the Isles 2 years ago were the WORST defensive team in the league and last year they were the BEST defensive team in the league.
Leddy follows the same path... 2 years ago his offensive numbers were there (40+ points), but his -42 was atrocious. Last season his offense dropped (26 points) but his plus/minus dropped to 0... I'd hardly say any of this hints at a regression for him. With a year of Trotz' system under them, I expect most Islanders to be more of a middle ground between the offensive year under weight and the defensive year under Trotz.
As for Dobson, both Lou and Trotz have said he has a REAL shot at making the team this season... basically, if the kid shows he can handle himself in the NHL during training camp and the 9 game look he's on the team. He nearly made the team out of camp last year, so unless he really craps the bed in training camp I can't see them sending him back to Juniors. If he was AHL eligible, absolutely, but not juniors.</div></div>
Yes he has. His corsi numbers at even strength were the worst of any of the isles defensemen. You really think Leddy is the same player as he was the first 2 seasons he played with us? He's definitely still a useful player as a zone entry machine and can put up offensive numbers, maybe playing him on the third pair helps him out a bit. We can either trade him this year or wait until next offseason when we need to shed the cap.
You're also incorrect about Lou speaking on Dobson. "I think what he has to do is simply what he has been doing, just keep growing as a player, keep growing as a person, which I'm extremely impressed with. He's a quality individual. He'll have as good a chance as anybody and will be given every opportunity."
That's not him saying he has a REAL shot. He might get the 9 game look, but why keep him up all year if he won't get a decent amount of games.

I'd love Tkachuk but Flames definitely match that offer. You'd probably have to dump Bailey ontop of Leo, Leddy and Hickey to sign Barzal, Pulock and Toews.

Continuation of the Cap Dump Scenario
Not taking on that awful Johnson contract with Ladd, Boychuk, Komarov contracts already.
Barzal's going to be coming in around 10 mil most likely.
Toews can be looking at 5-6 mil a year if he plays the same way he did last year.

Ideal Cap Dump and Starting Lines
i don’t think Leddy is guaranteed to get you a 1st with his regression the past 2 seasons. And sure maybe I used cap dump a bit loose.
I think Dobson is a longshot, hard to see Lou bringing a 19 year old up on a crowded blueline especially if he has to play on his offside. I could see if Aho maybe being 7D and getting a decent amount of games. Boychuks always getting injured.
Leo probably gets dumped after this season. 2 years at 3 mil isnt that bad to even buy out.

Filip Forsberg Trade and Other Moves
Forsberg would cost Wahlstrom, Wilde and a 1st atleast. I'd do that from an Isles standpoint, but makes no sense for Nashville to move their best offensive player. I wonder if Arvidsson might be doable but the same case. I wonder if it'd take the same or could Wilde Bellows and a 1st or Beauvilier could get it done.

Gallagher Haula Trades
Vegas loses C. Miller, and probably Eakin. Haula's salary is swapped with Hickeys. A 2nd or another prospect gets it done.
Obviously Gallagher is on a great contract. Dobson is untouchable though, would possibly do Wahlstrom, but if you're saying to ask for
both that's rediculous.

Going to be a much steeper price for Hoffman, don’t see Florida getting rid of him, they really need to have a good year and need all the forward talent they have.

woops forget tosign marner for 7. First time doing this and was on my phone.
Lee can slot in to 1LW and Marner can switch with Brock as well.
Toronto cant match it and Marners going to be a top player in the league. Cap and contracts are going up.

Don't get the Trouba trade. We're full up on RD and have 2 high level RD prospects coming in. Turris is an
interesting move and I'd be open to moving Beauvilier for him or Bellows and a pick or something. I don't think Drouin is the move to make either.

WPG trade
This doesn't feel like a good trade for NYI at all. Not so sure of Roslovic's upside and Copp as our 3C answer. Copp might be a decent
bottom 6 winger or 4C if we wanted to move Cizikas to a 3C role. Jets definitely will
need LD and to shed some cap space for next year signing Laine and Connor. I say Leddy/Hickey/Dal Colle and our 1st if necessary for
Ehlers to fill Eberle's spot/Perrault as a 3C option, and I guess we pick up a year of Kulikov who's severly overpaid and use him as a 6/7
defense man with Aho trading that space.
