So in other words you gave up a potential top 6 winger and scraps for Forsberg

A 1st isn’t scraps and Hickey gives them a good partner for Fabbro. Dal Colle has so,e value as he’s cheap and should be ready for a full time NHL job. Soderstrom gives them another young goalie option since Pekka Rinne can’t be elite forever

Zero chance Nashville accepts that offer. They get scraps and some picks. Islanders would have to give up at least one of Wahlstrom, Wilde, or Dobson++. In other words, it won't happen.

I’d give up Wilde and thought about putting him in but I figured Nashville would rather a forward prospect than a D prospect

If all of these players are apparently so good, why don't you just keep them...

Mayfield AND a 2nd rounder is too much to give up for Kapanen. Given both teams situations; Isles having too many D and TOR being in CAP hell and needing a RHD, a 1 for 1 or possibly Mayfield and a 3rd/4th should get the job done. And if it doesn't, you just offer sheet Kapanen and give up only a 2nd rounder.

Leddy is WAY undervalued in your trade. Montreal would need to add, not the Islanders. Plus Daneault isn't the type of player Lou should be targeting for Leddy. If he's made available teams are going to be lining up for Nick a 1st rounder or legitimate Top 6 winger should be easy to get.

To be honest, I don't know much about the type of player Forsberg is, but I'm gonna guess Nashville says no on that one... A top 6 winger for spare parts and a few prospects with potential doesn't seem like a good trade on their part.

I like the idea of Ho-Sang to EDM to play with McDavid, but the Isles already have too many Defensemen and have guys like Aho, Weatherspoon, Dobson and Wilde looking to push our current guys... Benning wouldn't make sense as a return for the Isles.

I took Manning because he only has 1 year left and Oilers need cap space, and because we take him we get a 2nd round pick. That was my thought process, also w Hickey and Leddy out we could use another depth dman anyway for a year before MVS and/or Wilde are ready

Nashville's entire offseason is centered around how to score more goals. Forsberg is one of their only legitimate scoring threats, so I don't like the odds of this one happening.

Yeah it’s not realistic I know that. But I could just imagine him and Barzal playing together

Gotcha. Did not realize you traded away 3 of our D (Leddy, Mayfield and Hickey) in this scenario. Taking on Manning for a year and getting the second in return for Ho-Sang could make sense then.

He's seen as a 4th line grinder/fan favorite. Very physical, but probably won't crack 10 goals in the NHL consistently.

Forsberg would cost Wahlstrom, Wilde and a 1st atleast. I'd do that from an Isles standpoint, but makes no sense for Nashville to move their best offensive player. I wonder if Arvidsson might be doable but the same case. I wonder if it'd take the same or could Wilde Bellows and a 1st or Beauvilier could get it done.

Oh then yeah more than him, I would say Kyrpu but I’m guessing blues would say no so my guess would be Mayfield for Klim Kostin 1 for 1
