Hossa -- recapture penalty. Seabrook -- ...wow... Both will be Hawks till their contracts expire.

"Major Moves"
How about those 3.6 million dollars in overages? A Seabrook trade (though, likely impossible due to 7years remaining and him being 32, needs to be explored. Hjalmarsson is just too valuable. But.. being realistic, he might be a cap casualty, if Seabrook isn't willing to waive his NMC, or nobody takes him. Hawks would have to reallllllllly sweeten the deal with either picks or rookies to dump Seabrook's contract.

Bishop?????
Really not sure why LA did this...Budaj has proven to be a solid starter let alone a backup. Very very odd trade.

Shattenkirk, trimming the yak
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JT_Miller</b></div><div>Rangers aren't trading Buch... especially plus a first for an upcoming RFA. The only way I could see Buch going to St. Louis is if Parayko is coming back.</div></div>
First off, the draft class isn't strong this year. So the Rangers first, which will most likely be in the 20s, is more like a early 2nd in most drafts. Being reluctant to give up Buch is more understandable. But getting a premier offensive defenseman will still cost a lot even as a rental. You'll get that D-Man for the playoffs, and a 2 month grace period to try and woo him to resign in the offseason. That senario, albeit risky, could lessen the loss of losing Buch.

Another Shatty Idea from THN
Shattenkirk will be dealt to an Eastern team and Fowler i think comes home to Detroit as a UFA in 2018.

Fleury
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Larkinisking</b></div><div><i>Why would you want MAF? The crappy Wings just lit him up for 6 goals here the guy is definitely overrated.</i></div></div>
Fleury is not an elite goalie. He's having his worst year. He's still better than Allen. A change of scenery would probably be good for Fleury. If he can play close to his career numbers that's more than good enough for the Blues.

Theres no way he stays and the team is cap compliant. Hossa has a no move clause he'll say no to Arizona immediately. Nobody wants Hossa's contract. Kruger really doesn't have a major role for the Hawks penalty kill remains last in the league anyway.</i></div></div>Just to be clear, after the 1st 10 or so game where the Hawks PK was sucky (mostly to do with goal tending tbh), the Hawks are between 84-85% success rate and would be good for 6th/7th in the league the rest of the season. Kruger does also have a major role for the Hawks in that his line shuts down others and flips the ice to give more offensive zone starts to the Kane line. Seriously, Kruger's NZ to OZ finish rates are some of the best in the league over his career, especially good considering he faces middle to high end quality of competition. There's a reason he's always selected for Sweden national teams.
You're right that there is no way he stays, but it's not fair to say Kruger does not play a major role.

New Look kings (some based on rumors)
Love seeing all that cap space to sign Toffoli and Pearson the following summer. This lineup could use a better partner than Scuderi to play with Marty IMO
