That's just asinine.
We like him just fine. He's struggling, sure. But you don't give up on your 2nd best player. Especially when said player is under 23 and just going through a slump.
They tend to bounce back, and he looked excellent under Hynes first game as HC. He was our best player that game.
Foremost, it's going to take a stupidly obnoxious overpay for Minnesota to even remotely consider it.
Secondly, that package better contain one of either Caufield, Slafkovsky, Dach, or Suzuki. One of them is coming back Minnesota's way or there's nothing to discuss or consider.
This *trade* however, doesn't get Guerin to do anything but laugh.

Lets trade with Min again
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dougford</b></div><div>Drafted 9OA three years ago and has a whopping 21 career nhl games played with 1 assist. Has shown nothing significant at the NHL level along with mediocre AHL stats. If any gm paid a likely top 16 pick+ for him they should be fired into the sun.</div></div>
Christ, you really are ignorant aren't you?
Again, Rossi missed an ENTIRE YEAR OF CRUCIAL DEVELOPMENT TIME, it's more correct to put his development around D+2 then D+3.
THAT MATTERS.
Furthermore, if you think being near a PPG in his first season back from that missed season, and at a PPG in his 2nd season down in the AHL is <em>mediocre</em>.... ooooh boy. I'm not sure that word means what you think it means.
He was literally still just ranked as a top 30 prospect in the league by Wheeler of the Athletic and as the 62nd best player/prospect on Pronman's under 23 rankings which includes players who've already graduated to the NHL. That's in spite of the fact Pronman is a known disliker of Rossi.
Finally, no player is a bust at 21. Where they where drafted is and will always be irrelevant. It takes up to a player's age 23 season for them to typically develop and fully mature as a player if they're a forward, 25-26 for defenseman, and 26-27 for goaltending.
It's often been stated by professionals that it typically takes around 164 games in the NHL level to know what and who a player is. Rossi has played barely 20 games to date.
By your metric. Then players like Jack Hughes, Brayden Point, Joel Eriksson-Ek, and Tage Thompson are all *busts*, because they didn't produce right away. The expectation that players do so is and always be asinine. Players that produce right away are always the exception, not the rule.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>There's nothing going on with Rossi. He's been near a PPG down in the AHL, and his level of play is impressive when considering he missed an entire year of crucial development due to Myocarditis.
If you're asking why he wasn't in the NHL this year. It's because Guerin/Wild organization don't like rushing prospects and even though Rossi wasn't playing bad, he was playing sound defensive hockey at a minimum, his offense wasn't where they wanted it at the beginning of the year so he got sent back down. The plan, initially, was just to get his confidence and scoring ability back on track then call him up again. However, the play of other call ups, namely both Connor Dewar and Mason Shaw kept them in the lineup. Ergo... there wasn't a realistic spot for Rossi on Minnesota's roster until the injury to Joel Eriksson-Ek a couple of games ago
Thems the breaks. 🤷♂️</div></div>
^. And just to emphasize the health issues, everyone compares Rossi to Matt Boldy, but if you take into account the year he missed due to Myocarditis, he's actually two years behind Boldy in development (2020 draftee and the health year). So next season would be the equivalent season to when Boldy first entered the NHL, in which he played only a half season anyway. So there shouldn't be any panic on his development at this point, in my opinion.

However as a Canuck fan I'd be pissed if all we got back for Brock was a washed up Greenway and a middle level prospect in Johannson.</div></div>
Yeah this is incorrect. Run it again. And Lambos and Ohgren won't be anywhere near the NHL roster.

Rumors Persist
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNBassman</b></div><div>Would you consider a 1:1 with Addison and Boeser a fair deal?
I’m less concerned about the future of the Wild’s middle after reading the recent Athletic article about Rossi. Would I still prefer a center, absolutely, but taking a chance on Boeser (considering the price) might be a better way for the Wild to spend their assets…
All I know for sure is Boldy needs someone to play with!</div></div>
No, I think Addison has more value. From a pure point production standpoint he is very similar to Boeser this year and he'll probably cost $3M AAV at the most next season with more team control while Boeser is older, plays a less premium position, and has a much higher cap hit.
If we can make the money work I wouldn't mind adding Boeser, but I wouldn't be super happy about using Addison as the chip to get him unless there's something else coming back.

Russo is the most plugged in beat writer in hockey. If he says that Guerin/The Wild isn't interested in Boeser.
He's/They're, not interested in Boeser.
He's going to know a hell of a lot more about what's going on in that front office and who they are and aren't interested in, then some random fan who doesn't know the Wild franchise or its local beat writer.
Russo is considered the best beat writer in hockey, national opinion, for a reason.

Before last night's game Gustavsson led the league in GAA and save %, and has done so since mid November.
You're an idiot if you think the team moves on from him.
What's better for the Wild's goaltending situation?
Moving a legitimate 24 year old 1B goaltender and waiting on a 20 year old goalie to play next year when he’s ready, and keep the 38 year old HOF'er as well. But is gone after next season.
OR
Keeping the 24 year old 1B goaltender. Let your 38 year old HOF'er play out the last year of his contract. And overbake your stud 20 year old goaltending prospect and have him wait an extra year.
Then have a truly terrifying 1A/1B goaltending tandem that will give opposing teams fits for the next 10+ years.
I got news for you, it ain't the one where the 24 year old 1B gets moved.
