Marner to CBJ plus FA signings
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>So the Jackets are giving up 3 of their top 4 prospects from a top 3 pool and two more 1sts for 2 years of Marner. It's actually ludicrous how undervalued the Jackets' prospects are by Canadian hockey fans.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Marners close proximity to UFA, high cap hit and clear desire to only be a Leaf will lower his trade value by quite a bit.
Not saying he's worthless but he isn't getting multiple 1sts and A-prospects.</div></div>
Ya’ll clearly never read the full trade. Its 2 conditional first round picks, and with a high probability that CBJ retains these two 1st round picks. Realistically, it is the 3 prospects, 2024 and 2025 2nd round picks, and a guarenteed 2026 first if the 2024 or 2025 1st rounders do not go back to the Leafs.
You are also forgetting that prospects are magic beans. You dont know if Marchenko will get past 21 goals. You dont know if Jiricek is gonna be a top defender like hes projected, and you certainly dont know if Dumais is gonna be a full time NHL’er. Yet with Marner, you get somebody who is established, and you still keep your 2023 1st rounder, and possibly your next 2024 and 2025 firsts as well.

Very Unrealistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VilleKoho</b></div><div>Agree with the title, however this does make you a lot more like the bruins in terms of depth, and playoff snarl. If only you guys had a dependable goalie I think you would be set. Still not sold on the "durability" and consistency of Samy and Murray over a 7 game series, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!</div></div>
Only a leafs fan can dream my friend lol. Definetly wont happen but would be sweet!
I think im confident in Sammy, but not Murray. I was hoping that with the leafs medical team and trainers, they'd be able to help Murray rehabilitate much better than he did in Ottawa. I mean, look and Ondrej Kase last season. He went from 3 games with bruins the season prior, to almost 60-65 games with the leafs. I hoped the same would happen with Murray (which was why I liked the Murray trade at the beginning), but there hasn't been much progress in getting his health back to stable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Viqsi</b></div><div>"the thought of Jenner wanting to stick around and play for a bottom-feeder team with his compete level is hard to imagine"
You don't have to imagine it; he's confirmed several times over (by word and by deed) that he does indeed want to stick around. He <strong>did</strong> just sign that very team friendly extension, after all.</div></div>
Yes so ive been told. Hes the kind of guy that stays loyal to his team. Nothing wrong with it!

Boone Jenner Vladislav Gavrikov and Sam Lafferty
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>You're off on why there are Gavrikov trade rumours. They're not shopping him because they think they can get a good price for him. They're shopping him because he wants too much money/term and they're not willing to meet it. They'd prefer to re-sign him and in fact they're still trying to negotiate a contract with him, but it's probably not going to happen.
If Jenner didn't want to stick around through some lean years he wouldn't have signed an extension and taken the captaincy after Foligno, Savard, Jones, Dubois and Atkinson were traded away. He wants to be a career Blue Jacket. That's just the way it is.</div></div>
Fair enough, thanks for the correction as I did not realize it was for that.
Gav is no more than a $4M defender, and that number is kinda high for the style he plays. When Gavrikov signs his next deal, I have a feeling it will be close to or equivalent to Jonas Siegenthaler in New Jersey

I think its a great deal on both sides, but realistically, Jenner will most likely stay put in Columbus. Thanks for the comment. I usually expect harsh comments on here LOL

I would say yes to that, with the exception of Liljegren and Gio. Both are kinda two-way like defenders. They can carry the puck if need be, but are responsible in their own end. Rielly is straight up an offensive defenseman no questions asked

I feel Minnesota is the best destination for him. I only wanted to see if the money could work for TOR. I agree that moving 2 roster players for 1 is not a good idea. Again, just toying around with certain takes.

I figured having Chairot would maybe keep that physical presence that Zadorov brought

Not really the asking price. I was just moving his contract to have a better idea on the cap space for Couturier. Toronto probably asks for Kiefer Bellows as well or something totally different then what I got there

Bob And Some Other Guys
IF Campbell does not sign, then I believe this may be the best avenue Toronto can take (also if Bob's NTC does not have TOR on it as a place he doesn't want to go). The only issue with all of these trades is the VGK trade to get Karlsson. Although Vegas is looking to move Karlsson, Vegas is looking to dump cap, thus, acquiring Muzzin and the RFA rights to Kase would put them over the cap (If Kase were to sign in Vegas). Karlsson will likely be moved to a team coming out of a rebuild that got money to toy with, like LA, New Jersey, Detroit,

Just a personal opinion. I liked Kerfoor on the 4th line (as he is quite versatile and can play anywhere, like Kase too. Before Kase went down, I liked the trio of Willy, JT and Kase on that line. Just think it can be an option. I wouldn't be opposed to splitting the lineup they have now though. Looks great

Fair value, but I dont think Dubas does it. Dubas isnt interested in moving top picks for rentals. If Lindholm had term remaining then he would pull the trigger. I think Dubas is either wanting Gio in SEA or Middleton in SJ

We wont have the cap to bring in Konecny. Leafs plan to activate Muzzin off of LTIR before playoffs. Also, I believe Knies is becoming an "untouchable" prospect. Dubas highly values him, so much so that I think they're working on a ELC for him to play this April after the NCAA clues up
