if karlsson makes it to UFA in 2019
Karl plays RD and if he hits an open market, he's getting more than $10MM lol

Mega trade what do you think Ottawa
Brassard <<< Malkin
Duchene >>> Hagelin
Karlsson >>> Schultz
Hoffman >> Sheary
I don't think this trade is really close even with the picks. This trade guts the Sens down the middle, leaving them with Malkin/Smith/Pageau/Thompson as well as a #1 RHD of either Cody Ceci or Justin Schultz... gross.
Malkin is also 31.
This trade basically turns Ottawa into a basement dweller for years to come while they wait for those picks to hopefully develop

Dealing Karlsson and Dubois (Sign Tavares)
Quality =/= quantity
You can't just give a bunch of plugs and expect a superstar (and a roster player) in return

Based off a rumor I just saw
:laugh That is an NHL 18 trade if I've ever seen one. This guy isn't reliable. You can believe him if you want but he is almost guaranteed to be nothing but a bored teenager who wants followers

Rebuilding Sens
I don't think a single one of those trades is realistic.. ESPECIALLY not the Stone one. Are you a Sens fan? Hagelin and a 1st for our best forward.. jeez

Karlsson?
Dude... this can't be serious. My lord
If you want Karlsson alone it would take a package like Andersson + Skjei + 1st. You can't honestly expect a proposal like yours to be taken seriously

What it might really take to get PLD to MTL
That seems like a massive overpay. PLD has looked real good but he has played 46 games. If you're gonna give a package like that it better be for an established talent

Ottawa and Some small trades what do you think
Ottawa probably asks for Sprong if you want Hoffman. Sheary and a 2nd doesn't get it done for a bonafide top line winger on a very good contract

Rebound Next Year?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HoffmanisKing</b></div><div>OHHHH u mean the retained salary. True Melnyk is too dumb and cheap to retain any salary. He wouldnt wanna pay anyone not playing for our team.</div></div>
Yup exactly. Team is more likely to ship out picks and prospects to make a team pay the contract than to retain that much (as shown in the Brassard trade)

Rebound Next Year?
I like the Sheary-Smith trade and the Zadina pick. Can't see Wideman or Ceci signing those contracts though, and that's a lot of dead money for a team that is extremely strapped for cash.

Little 3 way Ottawa and Boston
What on earth? Hoffman is a top line winger and has never played centre. Not sure why he is listed as LW/C. Not to mention Ottawa gets absolutely fleeced in this trade

Rebuild-ish
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens4ever</b></div><div>Bringing in a slew of mediocre D will not solve any issue. The trade for Faulk would be nice but would not happen as he is seen as a key piece in CAR. On top of this, the sens will be unable to ship out both Oduya and Burrows for any meaningful pick. Burrows has seen his role decrease and is as much of a liability as Oduya is. It is more likely for them to move as part of a package. Also, the left side on D is extremely weak and the other teams will exploit it</div></div>
1) Oduya and Burrows have already both been reported as being seen as veteran pieces for teams gearing up for the playoffs. They suck but given the current mindset of GMs they have value.
2) Faulk has also been reported to be available for the right price. Whether or not that is the right price is a question neither of us can answer but it seems decently fair in my opinion.
3) Aside from Claesson where is the weak point on the left D? Chabot is getting better every game, Boro is fine as a 6th D. Demers has a killer shot and is able to move the puck.
