Offseason shakeup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>I think the only way a move like this makes sense is if you use the cap savings to bring in one or two legitimate second line caliber players w the savings. We'd have to see what Toronto subsequently does from here</div></div>
I was definitely leaving it open to interpretation as for what moves Toronto would want to make next, this trade specifically would free up about $7m or so in cap while providing I think solid replacements

Selling at the Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>Forsberg coming back to Washington would certainly be something else. If this were to happen, I don't think we'd end up trying to replace Hagelin. Probably just drop Sheary down to the fourth line.
Would there be any interest in swapping the years of the picks? After not having a first last year, I think the Caps would rather do a 2023 1st and 2022 3rd.</div></div>
I'm not a Nashville fan so I can't speak to that, but I'd imagine a 1st is a 1st is a 1st. Maybe they would ask for a 2022 2nd to compensate?

Washington Capitals Prospect DIscussion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>I like the one on the Bruins' forum page, so I figured doing one for the Caps would be fun too. Ask or state anything about Capitals prospects here.
Quick question for the Caps fans: Given our deep pool of defense prospects, who do you see being the top six in 3 years? I see it looking something like Orlov, Carlson, Bowey, Djoos, Siegenthaler, Johansen, with Hobbs in the mix as well. What do you guys think?</div></div>
Kinda Crazy to see how much prospects situations can change in just a few years and how most of these players are gone or still in the AHL.

Which is why I don't really understand this from the Caps point of view either. Ovi isn't going to play like he doesn't age forever. Their goal should be to be as good as possible this season rather than looking forward like the Leafs. Last season, Eller was the better player of these 2 and will likely be again this year. I wouldn't make that bet on next season but next season isn't as big a worry for the Capitals as it is the Leafs.

Impossible Situation That Doesnt Feel That Impossible
I was thinking about this recently actually. Issue is Caps need to get younger and Malkin isn't that. But man, would I love it for so many reasons: pissing off PIT fans and getting Malkin and Ovi together.

How the Wild can fit both Kaprizov and Hertl
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>I wouldn't go near that trade if I'm MN. This isn't a team that is a lock for the Playoffs, so that that could be a high 1st + 2 prospects. Prospects that are going to be needed to help them get past the $14m x 3 of dead cap MN is looking at starting next season.</div></div>
I disagree. In definitely think this roster is good enough to make the playoffs in the central nvm the entire west. I think the Wild are set up to cope without the first round pick and those two prospects I included in the deal. But I guess we will have to agree to disagree here.

So how does their cap look next year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>Caps will pass on that deal. We're probably going to trade Vitek next summer, but I'd expect it to be for futures, not to get someone like Strome. No place in the lineup for him and we've got McMichael close to ready and Lapierre a couple years behind him.</div></div>
Honestly forgot McMichael. Doesn't really have to be the caps just thought a middle 6 c would make sense as who knows what's up with Kuznetsov but as I said I forgot McMichael
