I would also swap Buch with Lundqvist IMO. The Rangers will be way more dangerous this way:
Kreider Zibanejad Buchnievich
Panarin Cirelli Kakko
Lafreniere Chytil Fast
Lemieux Koivu/Howden Gauthier
Sergachev Trouba
Lindgren Fox
Miller Deangelo
But welcome to cap hell in 3 years, I hope you enjoy your stay.</div></div>
Could see Deangelo being traded in a couple years in lieu of Lundkvist. Wouldn't give him up with our RHD prospect depth being as shallow as it is. In 3 years all of our buyouts and bad contracts (as of now) will be gone (42m in cap space). Who knows who pans out or not, so that would be a worry for a later time. As of now Tampa is in "cap hell" and might have to give up some good young players to trade and/or offer sheets. It will be interesting to see what happens.

i wasn't coming at you specifically or claiming to be an expert... far from it actually. I was trying to be funny and sarcastic about most of the people who comment here who think they are 100% right all the time. I agree with you, i would take the 1st pick but i would definitely be tempted as a gm if Ottawa offered us something along the lines of my post for the exact reasons that <a href="/users/CD282" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@CD282</a> mentioned.

Draft Trade Down
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>That's not always accurate.
- 2011 Nugent-Hopkins was the #1, #3 was Huberdeau and #5 was Ryan Strome. It's close, but then consider 6-10 picks were Zibanejad, Scheifele, Couterier and Hamilton.
- 2012 Yakupov was the consensus #1, Edmonton would've been better off trading that pick for Galchenyuk and Rielly.
- 2014 Ekblad was the #1, would you rather have him or Draisaitl (#3) and Dal Colle (#5)? William Nylander was 8 and Ehlers 9, that might be like Holtz and Raymond of the 2020 draft.
- 2017 Hischier at #1 pales in comparison to the #3 and 5 picks: Heiskanen and Pettersson.
- 2019 its early yet, but would you rather have Jack Hughes (#1) or Kirby Dach (#3) and Alex Turcotte (#5)? I know I'd rather the second option.
Unless there's a generational talent available, trading down from #1 could be a very sound strategy. Even an elite talent like Matthews in 2016 could be argued against PLD (#3) and Matthew Tkachuk (#6), or MacKinnon in 2013 vs Seth Jones (#4) and Monahan (#6). It's not as clear-cut as you seem to think.</div></div>
No. trust me, everyone is an expert here.

I mean he played with Staal who is pretty pylonish, so really not indicative of what he can do. he moves the puck amazingly out of the zone, can skate well, and has a ton of toughness for a top 5 scoring d man. thats my argument but i can see how Toronto would debate it.

The AG deal:
If we decide to move AG, we need to get an NHL asset who can help us right away, and that deal doesn't provide that</div></div>
Was trying to find a balance in the lineup. I feel we already have several NHL ready players in the top 9, also trying not to block out our deep prospect system and get someone for "down the road". Plus Andersson and Georgiev are already sort of blocked out.
