That is a good question! I would be loathe to deal him but probably a 2nd and decent prospect (maybe more?)

Ghost is overpaid, but he still got good offensive production so dumping him probably costs around a 2nd rounder. Again, yes you have currently players that play the position but that doesnt mean you dont try to improve right?
Just because you have a #1 dman, you dont turn away another one! There just isnt that many players that can play top pair being shopped regardless of age.

You want the pens to take Markstrom then Calgary should be adding lol. Markstrom ain’t worth a top prospect that’s nhl ready, a decent goalie prospect, a 2nd, and a starting goalie that’s better than Markstrom and on a better contract. No thanks</div></div>
That's some pens colored glasses right there. Said with love. Granted he actually MADE the playoffs but had a .888% against the islanders......
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>Why the rush to get rid of Markstrom?</div></div>
No rush really. Just felt as though the pens would be a good fit. I found it tough to find a partner for any of the other big forwards. Except Lindholm, even in online trades I refuse lol.

Philly was a disaster last year defensively. You might have left shot D's but ya'll need left shot D's!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LittleBroDougie</b></div><div>That Tkachuk deal is very rough.</div></div>
You think? Need more current players? More picks? I thought roster player, top prospects, and two decent selections was close to market value.

This is exclusively in rebuild mode.
You have mentioned this on a few threads that you essentially want back the player you are trading (Tkachuk for first line Center). Can you please explain why that helps the team moving forward? If you want to get better in the future, you want future players hence one of florida's top forward prospects and two selections. I can see maybe getting a top center prospect though like Lundell but I would be confident he is 'untouchable' for Florida.

As an unbiased third party (flames fan), I would think one more piece to the Eichel scenario (prospect likely) and I doubt a first for Jenner.
But that's just me lol

How do you feel about it now?</div></div>
Ok but why? If they want to rebuild (again... poor Buffalo fans), why would they want to add these guys that are going to be likely past prime when they are competitive again?
Would it not make more sense to get the best prospects?
Whats the point of swapping first lines basically. Tkachuk is better than Reinhart I would argue (also younger). Eichel who needs neck surgery AND wants out of town nets a first line center Lindholm (who is less than half price which is important in this discussion), Andersson, and two firsts?

I am unsure what people think Eichel is actually going to net them. He has a massive ticket and needs (wants) NECK SURGERY.
Getting two first round selected prospects, an excellent top 6 winger, and two first rounders is about as good as it gets.

Who does Arvidsson have on his line? He would produce much more playing next to Tavares.
What makes you think Marner can keep up that same scoring pace and figure out his playoff issues in Nashville without Matthews?
Good chance Rielly walks which makes the trade even worse for Nashville
Lijegren hasn't been able to make the NHL in almost 4 years. He won't be able in Nashville with Ellis, Fabbro, and more on the right side</div></div>
You cant trade someone based on what they MIGHT do in their next spot. Arvi just as easily could be done and washed and then who wins the trade, right?
And for a team that barely made the playoffs, you sure seem to highly value the pieces. Cant be empirically bad and still think they are worth a lot.
Why wouldnt Josi go? Hes a lot closer to winning in TO than he is in Nash. He would be a hero there if he won

I would say re-tooling. Strome and Monny are a wash (age wise) and getting a first for Lucic is a steal. Good bit of business.
All I would say is that trying to get Eichel may be cost prohibitive

top pair defensemen CURRENTLY thats already 31 with 6 more years at over 9 mill a season. How long do you think that lasts for?
Winger on a reasonable contract who doesn't score anymore (and i like Arvi) - he scored less than .5 pts/per game last two seasons. $4.25 for 40 points?
Cant only point out flaws in half of the equation.
Marner was top 5 in scoring this season and is only 24. Time to figure it out.
Rielly could easily resign or just let him walk and have cap flexibilty.
Lijlegren is a prospect. They havent made it into the NHL thats the point. Remember Drouin for Sergachev? He was a prospect then too (not a totally fair example but still).
and you still get a first rounder to potentially select a solid player.
This is fun!

big swings!
1. That JG trade is not enough return for top line LW.
2. Dunno if Columbus wants to trade the younger players when potentially doing rebuild after Jones leaves.
3. Hart will bounce back, Philly wouldnt trade for Marky. Plus, we took back a lot of risk (Vorachek age, Nolan concussion and performance).
Like the attempts though.

I am with GMonwy - you want Marner gone but want other teams to pay a premium. Doesnt add up. Top line left wing and top pair dman for a guy getting ran out of town (even if top player) BUT i think its close.
Tkachuk and Anderson or something
