If I'm Toronto I take that deal. But Dubas doesn't like big strong skilled players that can hit, he'll keep the smaller skilled one that dangles and avoids contact

Schmidt isn't a cap dump, other teams if they had known would have given up more than what Vancouver did. If Washington wants a 1st pair LD to play with Carlson they will have to give up more than Dillon not the other way around. But the rest is ok, though I doubt Detroit would give up a pick as well

I don't think Schmidt requested to go to Vancouver, where did you hear this? From his interviews he was blind sided by the trade as he asked McCrimmom if he was going to trade him, where the GM said no, then few days later he was moved. But after the trade several other GMs where surprised as they would have given more if they had known of his availability. Anyway as to the trade I think more would have to be given up. What, hard to say but it would have to be expanded with Gost coming back and another player F and pick going there. I don't see a fit with Philly for Konecny

Your GM is Dubas, Jim will gave him a 3rd round pick and tell him, he just saved him a 1st round exit and between 10.9 million and 11.7 million on the new Rielly contract rflol ... but seriously Van wouldn't give up a 1st for Rielly as he is not what the Canucks need. But the Leafs should be able to get a 1st + for him come tdl when the leafs could very likely be out of the playoffs in that tough Atlantic division. Hard to Pass Tampa, Florida, maybe Boston drops but somehow I doubt it, they play with more heart than the leafs. Then the Met division PENS, CAPS, NYI, NYR, PHI, CAR.

Why would both Kerfoot and Dermott be exposed? What's your protection scheme?
I agree with you about the 3C options. I'd love Goodrow at $2-$3 mil for example. I think Nosek is undervalued in Vegas and they seem to want to use their tiny cap space on Martinez.</div></div>
think leafs go 4f,4d. Try to entice them to take Kerfoot to free up cap. Dermott isn't getting protected over their current 4 of Rielly, Muzzin, Holl, brodie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sporkknife</b></div><div>I also watch both teams. Canucks have plenty of Motte-like guys on the wing and need center depth. Motte is also quite injury prone. He is a great penalty killer. Overall I think he is only maybe a hair above Engvall. The Kerfoot for a 3rd thing, we can have that debate all day. See my other response in the thread.
"3rd line C... for less on the UFA market."
With Benning's track record, I just don't see it. Maybe Sutter for $2 million *throws up in mouth*</div></div>
Since the Canucks have that Motte type on wing why then trade him for a lesser wing player in Engvall, he'd be exposed and the Canucks protect Lind over him anyways.
Engvall doesn't really being much different for the Canucks.
Kerfoot, Engvall and Dermott most likely will be exposed with Seattle probably taking Dermott as he'd be a cheaper contract than Kerfoot and better get than Engvall. So it's Toronto trading Kerfoot for a 3rd and an upgrade on the wing in getting Motte. Good deal for them.
I do expect Jim to re-sign Sutter for the 4th C hopefully no more than 1.75. As for 3rd C well I don't know what he'd do, personally I'd rather have Goodrow, Nosek or Haula as 3 C over Kerfoot

Like it or not Canucks do pass. I watch both teams and motte is better then Engvall. Which means Engvall is expansion fodder on both teams. So it's a 3rd for Kerfoot which isn't bad but for his salary which is much for the Canucks for their 3rd line C. I'm sure they will try to get one for less on the UFA market.

Yeah the owners suck and they get way too involved. Dahlin was broken until Granato fixed him. The only players that haven't been broken were Eichel and Reinhart. Everyone else's career was ruined in some sort of way. This franchise is ****ed for life.
Granato does come from a very respectable and intelligent hockey family. I think Buffalo can be turned around in 2 years time, especially with the correct trades of Je, SR, RR. The ****ty thing is Buffalo is in the hardest division in the league, complete opposite of the Canucks

Yes, that is the cost. Reinhart is worth a 1st + a prospect. Erikkson would cost the 2022 2nd to dump.</div></div>
Sorry my misunderstanding, thought you meant all that for LE dump.
I do agree that Sam will get a 1st + prospect but I doubt it's a top 10 first with a prospect. I could see a team like Minny giving up their 1st + a prospect. But for your team I hope I wrong and it's more

Exactly Reinhart had an uncharacteristicly higher than normal shooting pct. That's not his norm, it's a one off. Boeser finally has is strength and shot back he may get over 30 next yr and on Buff to as he'd be the best shooter, but Sam on Van won't
He's consistently had a high shooting pct. This wasn't a fluke. Again Brock has never played on a team like Buffalo so you can never assume how well he would play. Everyone thought Dahlin was unbustable until Buffalo found a way to break him.
Eriksson is a $6 million dump. He’s not even worth wasting a roster spot on. Next year‘s first round pick is the cost of taking on that $6 million for
Don't worry LE won't waive for Buffalo cuz it's only 3 million that he's getting not 6million.. A 1st is not the cost for 6 avv and 3 Mil actual, the cost at most is next yrs 2nd. If not van will bury him ,keep next yrs 1st and may draft 25 goal 50 point forward with their pick ala Reinhart.
If Buffalo can get LA 1st or OTT 1st this year than fantastic. But no other team in this years top 10 is gonna give more than that. Feel free to bookmark this. If I'm wrong I'll give you your props. Btw I like Reinhart.
