Toronto isn't touching that trade. If anything, I think I'm starting to lean toward Dubas wanting to keep Mrazek, at least to start the season & signing a guy worth around 2 million to start. Toronto has a spot in the Atlantic wrapped up regardless of goaltending, especially with Boston's injuries and potential rebuild. Toronto will at worst be 3rd. They can wait on goaltending closer to midway through if it's not going well.

Holl alone is probably worth a 4th. A trade that swaps Murray and Mrazek, the Leafs aren't taking on and additional 2.4 million just because he played for the SOO. Also, this take from CJ had little no relevance except the SOO connection, as in, sure, Toronto could be interested if Ottawa retained half and another team retained half of that, but that wouldn't make sense for Ottawa either. The whole thing does not make sense and is based off a connection.
Also, I know I'm in the minority here, but given the Leafs overhauling their goaltending coach department, I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Mrazek stay and they sign a guy for 2 million or so to split time and THEN if it continues, they bite the bullet in season. If Boston enters a rebuild (and frankly with injuries and players potentially moving on), even if they don't, the Leafs with their forwards and D alone will be in the top 3 Atlantic. I could see a world where they ride with FA goalie signing and Mrazek, and make moves later. I'm starting to truly think they will run it back as close as possible, with Marlies taking over the 4th line duties.

I know it's annoying because this franchise has let people walk to UFA and not get anything in return, but this is likely Dubas and Shanahan's last chance if it doesn't work, so I don't think they'll care about keeping him and letting him walk for nothing.

I do like this if Robertson has a solid camp. Trading Kerfoot hurts because he's so versatile and can play up and down that I think if you trade him, you're basically just trying to find someone like him anyway.
I do like this though.

Fact of the matter: Leafs wouldn't trade Niemela for an upgrade last year. They aren't trading him for freaking Carter Hart lol. Dubas doesn't consider that.

All he did was cry for 2 years about how badly the Leafs needed Del Zotto because they are buddies.

Sharks say no. I like the Reimer thought, but the trade needs a total rework.
Might want to switch Sandin and Brodie sides. You're not signing Sandin to 3.6 million per to play on the right side, which is likely to not end well.
Would definitely take Gagner.

Rielly - Brodie
Sandin - New Guy
Gio - Liljegren
If, and its a big if, the leafs could get a solid RHD, Sandin could play with Brodie. (Sandin - New guy would probably be the 3rd pair. Sandin - Brodie would be the 2nd pair)</div></div>
Hope your new guy can bring the experience and type of style Muzzin does, because our blue line based off of what you provided is going to get WRECKED lol

I think the Leafs are going to run it back like they have said, even though obviously they aren't going to say otherwise.
However, I WOULD really like to see this. Also frees up 4.7 million in cap, which would be interesting to see how they use that. Both are RFAs when deals up. If there's a Willy trade to be had, I would love to see this in play.

Keeping Sandin Liljegren long term contract
No disrespect, but I think some of you in these comments need to stop acting like real capologists..because you're not.
The Athletic, more specifically, James Mirtle, w/o arbitration eligible for less than 100gp, gave Sandin & Liljegren 1.4 million each per year on a short bridge, based off recent comparables. Not that he is going to be dead on, but holy, some of you are really out to lunch on the cap and players.
Soooo, yeah, I'm going to go ahead and trust he's way more accurate than any of these numbers being thrown out in the comments here lol

For the leafs prob wait a year and get a Blackwood, Jarry or Ned next year all ufa</div></div>
No problem, I try to *mostly* give positive feedback on here unless people are rude upfront, because I know how harsh this place can be, which is why I never post. Goalies are weird, and they absolutely could look -and likely are- *asking* about him. I just hope they go the route of getting a tandem making 2-3 mill per each. This is definitely much more realistic than the Leafs trading 3 top prospects and a 1st for him. This is much more in the realistic conversation.

Probably one of the more realistic Gibson deals I've seen, as he is struggling and it won't cost the earth and moon to get him...I would hope the Leafs pass on this though, especially if that is Holtby's going rate, which is likely 2-2.5 as you have it. You could keep/flip Sandin/Holl and keep Anderson and sign 2 of Holtby/Comrie/DeSmith, etc. for the contract of Gibson alone, if not less. If the Leafs are going to pay big money to a goalie, I think they target Kuemper, which I would also deem unlikely. Tandem of 2 guys making 2-3 mill per each.

You could, but that wouldn't benefit the top of the lineup. I'm not a fan of Wilson trades, but pretty sure this isn't about signing another 4th line tough guy.

I think that deal for Granlund could be beefed up, I'm not saying add more to it, but maybe the picks come out for a prospect or guy ready to go now..maybe like a Robertson, he needs a change..or chance, whichever word you prefer.
I absolutely LOVE that you are one of very few people on this site who actually got the Leafs someone who can play C and Wing not named JT Miller. So, that is much appreciated, because even Leafs fans can't see that considering all they do is trade Kerfoot and add strictly wingers to this team lol.
So, awesome job!

I love Campbell, but I think this would actually be the best case scenario if he leaves. Find 2 goalies who both make 2-3 mill per, which should be relatively easy to do and that's a huge win. I would imagine DeSmith is coming in higher than 1.25 as well.

I will just keep repeating myself over and over. If you get rid of Kerfoot, you need to find a wing who can slot in and play top 6 C if needed. If JT goes down or gets hurt (he is getting older), this team is screwed. Also not sure who replaces Kase on the 3rd line when he inevitably gets injured for half the season.
Losing Mikheyev is going to hurt. Trading Kerfoot would hurt even more. I know he made a mistake whatever, but he is extremely valuable to this team. This team is actually worse without those 2 on it and the depth up front is EXTREMELY concerning. I'm sure the front office will find a way to bring in players and keep/add depth...at least they better hope so because this is their final shot.
