The Big Signing is... JVR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>The Avs big problem here is still depth. You are not going to get much scoring from your bottom 2 lines.</div></div>
I understand your point. But they are very YOUNG. So as these guys all gain experience maybe the depth will come around. Also got Bowers at BU on the way as well. I think its looking pretty bright if even just a couple of these kids develop.

I like the Washington trade. I think its a decent move. Then you lose me though. LOVE the title format!

Grimaldi, Petryk, and Graves are not NHL talent. If you are just listing young talent you can use
C - Beudin, Nantel, Barron
W - Lewis
D - Anderson
G - Werner
All of them are actual prospects and have a least a chance at developing.

I am also in on JVR. But I think its gonna take 6.5-7M for him. That's fine though as we have the cap for that. DeHaan I am less excited about as I dont mind Girard in a top 4 role. That money is better suited elsewhere.

BEST FIRST LINE IN THE NHL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>There’s gotta b someone u didnt resign. How do u still have 7M in space?</div></div>
Colorado's cap situation is VERY VERY good. You could argue they dont have any "punishing" contracts. It will jump in 19-20 when they resign Mikko, Zadorov, Compher and Kerfoot. But all and all they have set themselves up very well to be built for the long term success. I would like to see them make a run at JVR this summer, but not Neal. There is no need to rush this team's development.

The most SINISTER Offer-Sheet in NHL history
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman77</b></div><div>I’m just thinking that Ottawa might want revenge.</div></div>
With as much cap space as Colorado has I dont see any reason they don't get the extension done this summer after July. This would take any retribution off the table. I think Mikko has already earned himself a 6mil per contract at the minimum already. He doesnt need to prove it for another year.

Berglund and Sobotka are basically cap dumps. I dont see the value there for Ottawa at all. I agree that Tavares will probably cost you more than that.

The most SINISTER Offer-Sheet in NHL history
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hedman77</b></div><div>Well, goodbye Rantanen</div></div>
Not arguing that offersheeting Stone is both silly, and not going to happen. But I dont see how this loses Rantanen. This team has a TON of cap space. Plus Colin Wilson is off the books when Mikko is up. There is plenty of cash to go around to sign Mikko and Zadorov regardless of who they sign this offseason. If there is one thing Colorado has done well, their cap situation is pretty enviable.

Next year to save the franchise. Trade with COL and JT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BigBeardBurns</b></div><div>A question that for some reason nobody considers...</div></div>
I did consider it. And the general consensus in STL is that if getting Tavares means you have to trade Vlad, then its a no brainer. They cant afford both due to the other contracts on their roster. I know it looks stupid, but its not as unfounded as it seems. The locker room here is STL is a disaster. They need a new start with a new leader. Ideally you could move Sobotka and Berglund instead of Vlad, but that would COST assests instead of attain them.

What do you think they will do about the 1st round pick at the lottery? Do you want them to keep it regardless of position? or if its 7-10 range do you think they should let COL have it to protect the 2019 pick?

As they said above. Its not awful. But you wouldn't trade Petro for that group, and I dont think Phoenix will either. That doesn't really do anything to make them better.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jbarre6</b></div><div>Would COL be interested at all in moving Barrie or Johnson to BUF? If so, what would the price be.</div></div>
IF they move Barrie. It has to be for scoring on the right side. In Buffalo that's Reinhart and not much else. I dont really see a trade fit there for that reason, as I know Sammy has high value.

Tell me what you think (Col)
I dont understand the reasoning behind any of these trades. Why trade Kamenev for Smith Pelley? What does that get you? Why trade Jost for Pullock when? You dont need more D you need scoring. My trade Martin to Anaheim? He is your only goalie prospect. Just why to everything. Trades more than anything a GM does requires a reason. These are all without any reason.

Tavares Signing + Darling Trade
1. You can only offer JT 7 years. Not 8
2. I think there are places he would rather play that can pay more than 11 mil.
3. Why are you giving away Rask? He is good.
4. What are you giving Washington for Grubauer's RFA rights?

I think they would do this if they had any sort of alternative to Varly but they dont so I dont think this trade works. Its fair value, but Colorado would have literally 0 goalies under contract for next season at that point(not even prospects). Which is just bonkers.

NSH_COL trade concept
Colorado wont be looking for a RD in a Barrie trade as that is our prospect strength with Makar/Timmons/Meloche. IF Barrie becomes expendable it would be a hockey trade for right side forward scoring first, left side forward scoring second, and left defense third. Ellis would be expendable the same way Barrie would so this trade doesn't really accomplish the teams goals. Plus being in the division makes this trade even less likely. I think both teams are better off not doing this.
