Marleau Zaitsev and more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gmurrayt</b></div><div>Let me guess. You are one of those maple leaf fans who think teams are banging down the door to get Marleau the player and Zaitsev he player. The only reason teams are showing interest in either one are because of what Toronto will need to include to move them. (i.e good players/picks/prospects, or bad contracts the other way). Essentially this trade includes both, 2 cap dumps for players whose bad contract terms far outweigh any benefit they bring to the ice, in return a bad contract going the other way and a good player to the Kings. Toronto actually gets a serviceable cheap RD in addition.</div></div>
hahahahha all leafs fans acting like Marleau and Zaitsev actually have value is funny... the leafs who are in absolute desperation of "top 4 right handed defencemen" are trying to trade a "top 4 right handed defenceman"??????? why would you trade a position that you clearly lack unless you know hes not good enough? thats exactly it... hes not a top 4 D hes a bottom pair making 4.5 mil. and the fact that leafs fans think theyre gonna get something back/not have to take a bad contract for a 40 year old making over 6 mil is absurd, even tho it is only 1 year left on his deal

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Laudan</b></div><div>When Marleau came to TML he also had numbers to show...pretty much the same ones as Brown now. I never said TML should just get things solved and take nothing back cause those other 30 Teams arent here to solve TML problems for free. But three years of Brown doesnt weight out losing one year of Marleau. I rather stick with Marleau for one more year then go thru whole "declining expensive vet"process with Brown again....
and on top of that those two other pieces in trade makes the above said look even worse.....</div></div>
do u and other people not see that dustin brown actually have 2 of the better seasons of his career the past two years?? its actually quite funny when people say hes declining when hes actually getting better and adjusting his game as best he can to the new nhl

Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Hes not an improvement on Quick, I've seen enough of Cal Petersen over the last few years to know hes LAs goalie going forward. Quick has a few mediocre years left in him, but hes far from the player everyone regards him as. Puljujarvi is not meant to replace Toffoli, hes a lotto ticket prospect, see if they can undo what Edmonton did to him. Hes still a young top 5 pick, meanwhile Toffoli is only going to get worse because he is not cut out for the NHL game and hes not surrounded by a ton of great players to insulate him and feed him points.</div></div>
ur not understanding what were saying, why would u trade quick and kovalchuck who still have trade value whether u like it or not (quick much more so than kovalchuk) IN OUR DIVISION for a bunch of busts? a line of McDavid, Draisitl, and Kovalchuck could easily net 130 goals by themselves next season. u dont want to be the ones that created that line in ur own division. that makes no sense. and Toffoli who just turned 27 for a border line AHL player??? thats a headscratcher too. Not to mention that Jack Campbell was top 5 in GAA and top 3 in save percentage. I dont think the kings will trade him but honestly Campbell probably could net a first if you threw in a mid round pick considering the season he just had and hes only making league minimum on top of that

if u watch the kings play quick gets left out to dry every game too. i fell bad watching him have to suffer with a trash defense. id also rather have playoff quick than just about anyone else in playoffs. not a slight to holtby hes great too

i thought they all were fine trades except the PIT trade it wouldnt really make sense for either team and i wouldnt sign brassard but i dont see why people complain about anything else. Kopitar is my all time fav player so i dont want him to leave but thats the right return should he leave. him and bergeron are the top two 2-way players in the game, just facts no one can argue that

Leipsic is a RFA this summer and is likely to be back this year. He's been one of the few bright spots on the Kings this season. Additionally, he currently makes the league minimum, so his qualifying offer will be very affordable.</div></div>
while i like the way he plays, he also is playing top 6 minutes which u have to admit is ridiculous and the only way to get Willie-D to not do that is by getting rid of him. RB gotta take away his favorite toy

best of the young guys who will be around
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>Brickley is most definitely not NHL ready not is he even close. He's been one of the worst defensemen on the AHL Reign. MacDermid has done 10x better than him. Brickley is like a -16 with 4 or 5 points.
Martinez plays more on the Right side than the left so you can't really consider him an LD(even though he is left handed)
Kurtis MacDermid is very underrated and over looked just because he likes to fight. He is not an enforcer. There's so much more to his game and he has been probably in the top 3 best defensemen in Ontario right now and has been all season long. He's also one of the only ones that's a plus.</div></div>
the only reason hes been playing on the right side is because of the excess of LD and hes versitile enough...and in regards to brickley he plays down to ahl competition and up to nhl u can even find rob blake quotes about that. i like Mcdermid but hes nothing more than a 7th defenseman if were being real

people arent understanding that report that came out. carter isnt gonna walk away from millions of dollars even tho he isnt earning his AAV. he is using that tactic to make it more difficult for the kings to move him. he doesnt wanna be traded to a bottom feeder team who offers the most to the kings. if he goes to a contender he wouldnt care. just trying to threaten to retire as a no trade clause since he doesnt actually have one

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonesryan</b></div><div>Pittsburgh doesn't have the cap space though. They may "have it" now, but the important one to look at is the Projected Cap Space (which means end of season) which is when they have be under the cap or pay overages next year. Currently they have a projected cap space of 811K, with Brassard's $3M cap hit traded and bringing in Carter's $5.2M cap hit, that puts them massively over the cap at the end of the season. So it doesn't work for them unless LA retains over $2M per season, and with Carter having 3 years left after this one, I doubt they do that</div></div>

if you're moving a youth LD we're interested , if not Toffoli or Kupari then we're gonna pass .
if Martinez was movable he woulda went to TML with Muzzin and fixed their top 4 situation but even a team as desperate for RD as TML wasnt interested it appears LAK is stuck with their Alzner</div></div>
if u get anyone on this site to agree that martinez and alzner are just as good as each other id never post on this again lol....considering that everyone before u said this is fair or even less than what martinez is worth, im gonna lean towards that ill be on this tomorrow. also toronto cant fit martinez with muzzin and resign all of kappanen, marner, matthews, etc so why on earth would they do that? pairing martinez with weber is much better than pairing him with mete. come the end of martinez contract mete might be ur top pair guy
