Yzerman starts DET rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toddbertuzzi44</b></div><div>Your comparison between Vanek and Datsyuk would be the same type of comparison between Datsyuk and Kovalchuck in the KHL. Datsyuk is a center who plays a really good two way game an Kovalchuk is an offensive first winger. I don't think Dats will come back and dont really even think the wings should bring him back but im just saying Datsyuk is capable of of a lot more than 20 points in the NHL even at 41.</div></div>
Ok the way they play or their playing style doesn't change no matter what pro league they are playing in. The Wings were only 3 points ahead of The Kings this season. I know it isn't exact but it does give a general idea. Datsyuk is one of my favorite players I have a jersey autographed framed and hanging in my office. If you go through my browser history you'll see I still watch Datsyuk clips on you tube all the time.
If you run across any people who really think Datsyuk is coming back send them my way. I have some plots on the moon I'm selling and a box full magic beans for sale.

Ic and det needs picks and there prospects, even as talented as point is probably still not what is needed in det yet until they are built a little deeper

I totally agree with you, If he really wants Detroit i say stick it out until next summer and sign him for nothing.

Or we wait one more season when he's a ufa and sign him for free and not give up any young assets or picks?
The rest I'm fine with, I proposed the same svech deal a while back.
Callahan is perfect especially if we can peddle him at the deadline and get another pick for him

Subban and big UFA-Flyers contend
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toddbertuzzi44</b></div><div>They haven't missed their window, No one that is a significant piece is even over 29. You could argue that they have two number 1's. My point was PK would be a number 1 on most teams.</div></div>
Admittedly, I'm biased, but I also don't believe NSH's window is closed. For some perspective, the Preds won the Central. Albeit, the Central was a **** show, but they got the job done nonetheless with a 100 point regular season.
Keep in mind, this was done with a historically bad powerplay. If that powerplay is slightly below average instead of an absolute dumpster fire, the Preds could still be playing hockey. Not only was the powerplay horrendous, but they were also a one-line team. Opposing teams needed to shutdown Forsberg-Johansen-Arvidsson to be in a good position to win the game. With a surplus of defensemen, it makes sense to move one for some offensive firepower.

Hronek Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toddbertuzzi44</b></div><div>i saw that interview as well, i don't specifically remember him saying that, i do think your right there is somewhat of a unwritten rule amongst GMs. But in the Leafs situation they have Marner, Kap, Johnsson to sign. They are not going to be able to keep all three of them. So that means they are gonna have to probably trade one of Kap or Johnsson. Because other GMs know they are going to have to make that trade i dont think they are going to be able to get anywhere near market value for Kap or Johnsson anyways. So a offer sheet in that situation where they get a 2nd round pick doesn't feel like its a huge dick move. Or they will trade Nylander and keep Kap and Johnsson, thats what they should do, but that nylander contract is pretty bad. Are you a red wings fan?</div></div>
Hintz? Looking for someone who can keep up with AA?

Hronek Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toddbertuzzi44</b></div><div>everybody is fair game technically, the offer sheet rules are in the CBA. There no rule that says offer sheets aren't allowed. I am not saying it should happen all the time. It doesn't happen all the time for the reasons i said above. But with that said in my opinion Kap and Johnsson are offer sheet candidates. Because they are in the cap hit range where you could pay them 4 mil and it wouldn't be an big overpayment but at the same time Leafs wouldn't want to match because they are in such a tight cap situation. Its more likely that a player in that range will get an offer sheet than someone giving up 4 first round picks for Brayden Point or Marner.</div></div>
I forget what game it was but they interviewed Scotty Bowman he even made a comment about an unwritten type of rule that owners and GMs abide by because it would be chaos if teams just sent out offer sheets to who ever.
The interview was a Wings away game and Mickey was there so I think it was at Buffalo.

Well I'm pretty sure Panarin going to Florida is a done deal. I'm good with Karlsson but I still think Detroit is to far away. Now Duchene I don't think it's a coincidence that a teams play drops when he is on that team.

The main TRADE AND THE BEST ONE
Nurse just had his best season of the year, I think if you put him next to Petry (I think they played on the same team once), that pairing would be insane. Sadly, that's what Edmonton should be doing this offseason. Finding a Petry to play with Nurse.
I think Nurse has a real good shot at playing Top 2 minutes in a couple years, his decision making is getting better, he skates really well, can play tons of minutes, jumps into the play often. As an Oilers fan, as much as I like Drouin, I'd keep Nurse although it'd be hard to say no to that. I only say that because if Drouin isn't scoring, he doesn't bring much value to the team. Nurse plays physical, has a nasty side, and is already liked in the dressing room. Too many intangibles to trade.

Not going to comment on the trades and stuff as I don't know enough, but Kotkaniemi will not be in the NHL this year. He has looked bad so far, and that is against rookies. He has not adjusted to NA ice yet. If they had a decent AHL team (they don't) then I would say you do what the Leafs did with Liljegren and play him there to get used to the NA sized ice, but since you don't I would guess he will be returning to Finland to develop. He is not ready, play him at the risk of ruining him. Mark my words.

The year after 10th overall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cbonser_8</b></div><div>Arguably one of the worst GM's I have seen... Only good thing i see on here is the pick of Bouchard in the draft... Where is Andreas? I am a fan of the Wings however no way he agrees to come back after the terrible season they just stumbled through... He would also never resign if he knew Holland had the intent to trade him somewhere he may not like... Would much rather just test free agency... Also, you have a lot of faith in Geekie... A third round pick making his NHL debut as a second liner.... No way! Holland would never trade a 1st rounder for a third... just illogical... I'd say try again but I don't think I want to see that either....</div></div>
I'm honored.
Did you see what Geekie and Rasmussen did in the playoffs this year together? I said in the description to see my previous team. AA was included in the trade for 10th overall. Plus after the draft their draft position is meaningless, it is all about what they do afterwards. Or do you think Riley Sheahan is a better player than Evgeny Kuznetsov?
